Love it. My falafel was gigantic and freshly made. Not quite as good as Loon Deli for a divey falafel fix, but good. They have lentil sambusas as well as meat ones -- flavorful and delicious and $1. You can get coffee or somali tea for also about $1.
Super friendly. Pretty slow to make each order. Partly because so friendly there is some chatting time involved with each person who comes in.
Come here if you like cheap delicious food. Don't come here if you are uncomfortable being the only white person in a room or are in a hurry.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - JayonBlay C.Como, Saint Paul, MN23120Jul 24, 2022
Has lamb gyro and other food items on the front. Kitchen area was very dirty and looks unsafe to eat from. No menus or tv menu working. Walked right out as food didn't look fresh. Would not come again.

I have heard noise of this place having the best gyros, but that's unlikely. Any place that offers 2 for 1 on anything at lunch time, can't have the best of them, by definition. The gyros were ok, the other food ok, the tiny table in the corner better than ok.
Actually, I haven't seen this place actually selling gyros, or anything at all, for quite some time now, so it's all academic.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Brock G.Rainier Vista, Seattle, WA02May 22, 2019
Best Falafel in town, hands down. Don't miss this spot for real. The staff was amazing and took great care of us. I could tell they put real love into the preparation of the food. A+ service, staff, and food.

Best gyros. Nice people. Few bros come in because they are afraid of black people, usually. go gophers, ya losers.

Great food for a great price.
My wife and I went there last night... we got the regular chicken wings and a lamb gyro. The gyro was excellent (get the cucumber sauce), well cooked, and LARGE (larger than a generous chipotle burrito).
You can't beat the price either... very reasonable. Whether you want a post-bar food bomb or a filling dinner, this place is awesome.
One thing to note is that their hours are supposed to be from 10 a.m. to 1 a.m., but they open late (around noon) and close late (until the crowd is served). I also don't think they have a webpage.
As John L. said in 2010... their seating are is not very clean so I think take out is the way to go.
Overall, great experience with very friendly people. The gentleman who served us kept up the conversation about the history of his country and the current politics there as he cooked for us. Really nice guy.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - John L.Minneapolis, MN17172Dec 22, 2010First to Review
If you are looking for a delicious and affordable gyro in the Cedar-Riverside/West Bank area, then this is your place. I ordered the large gyro and it came out to just under $6.50. The server also hooked me up with a cup of tea on top of it. The place is a hair grimy and isn't very inviting to sit down in, but there are some tables and it's only a short walk from campus.

Hands down best in the city. No one else comes close. Owner and any patrons give such a welcoming feel. The seasoning on their lamb is unlike anything offered by anyone else around Minneapolis - flavorful and with a perfect little kick!
