Ambience is okey.. considering it's been awhile there - Ching O.Los Angeles, CA032Jan 1, 2024
What happened to your pork chop? I've always enjoyed your pork chop and would never mind driving to Chinatown. But this... super disappointing! Ordered this to-go tonight and was devastated to see this when I got home.

Mayflower Seafood Restaurant seems more like a shrine to Manny Pacquiao then a Chinese restaurant. I've seen this place many times as I drive through that part of Chinatown, looking for parking but the first time to go inside. I heard a lot about it and wanted to try it out. Extensive menu, Manny memorabilia...But these reviews aren't always about the ambiance or look; it's about the food and service.
Yeah, it's got a lot of cool looking things to see but just remember, Planet Hollywood...
The food came out and it was nothing special. From the surrounding tables, fried pork chops, fried shrimp and fried fish was the staple. Our food was rather bland and cold. I asked for something spicy, other than the big bottle of sriracha they have on the table. With some coaxing, I was able to get some jalapeños in a bowl of soy sauce. I guess that will do...
The service was sub-par and they spoke very little, if any, English. I don't discount that, but refilling water, checking to see how everything tastes is restaurant server 101.
I see that they do have their regulars since they got busy after 1230 pm. Manage the expectations, but if it's just to take orders and deliver food...the expectations speak for themselves

Will I Return? Hmmmm... - Mia A.Rowland Heights, CA15148870Jan 29, 2023
Always a great idea to end your day here after a long day! Quick service, delisting eats! My fave is the house lobster - mmmmm so tasty!
Make sure you come with an appetite and good company to share! They used to be cash only but now taking cards. Meter parking, as well as public parking available. - Jan 5, 2023
Another gem in Chinatown. The aunties don't speak English but there's one uncle who does, so just be patient. I just smile and point at items on menu.
The lunch specials are good, and so reasonably priced. Come with complimentary hot tea and dessert:
-salt and pepper fried fish fillet $9.99 (4/5)
Fish portion is a bit smaller compare to other places but it's also cheaper so i don't mind.
-French style beef $11.99 (4/5)
Beef slices instead of cubes and a bit chewy. Lots of garlic
-house special shrimp $11.99 (4/5)
Same sauce use on above beef dish, with just as many crushed garlic
Adding this to my bookmark so I can come back

Had lunch with hubby and sister .
This is our to go to after visiting the gravesite . But today we went before heading out to Forest Lawn.
Craving their fried pork green onions.Jul 27, 2022Previous reviewKinda regular here but always ordered Ala carte.
Today we went to try their lunch specials @$9.99.
Total bill $40 for 4 lunch specials.
Very good food and service by Linh.
Servings were still a lot good for 6 people really,
We still had left overs,
Their lunch specials used to come with soup before the pandemic so now it just comes with rice.
They always serve you a tapioca dessert after meal.Sep 19, 2021Previous reviewThis Chinese restaurant is always crowded and swarmed with Filipinos. They always know where good food and affordable prices with excellent service.
Before yelping I used to come here with my sister. Today I visited her and went to dine here and all their scrumptious dishes are to die for.
Their fried salted pepper pork chops are crispy battered and meat is so tender. This is a signature dish for me at this restaurant !!!
We ordered so much food that we had so much left over to take home for dinner tonight.
The pictures I took will speak for themselves. You really have to go to experience an out of this world flavorful authentic Chinese Cuisine !!! - 100453980Sep 1, 2023

Delicious authentic food. The service is great and prices are unbelievable.
The owner lady genuinely cares and goes out of her way to please customers. Family oriented place. The beef and bun, the fried shrimp, and the chicken and greenbeans are my favorite. This place is my husband's favorite spot for the past 12 yrs. Never disappointed. - 1639658Jan 8, 2023
My parents like coming here because the food is cheap, the portions are large, and it's Pacquaio's favorite Chinese restaurant in LA, but I find the food intolerably salty. I have to eat each bite with so much rice.
The service is just like everyone describes. You can't really expect American-style service from any authentic Chinese restaurant, but how many people do you have to flag down just to get your order in? There is better Chinese elsewhere.
