The wine was very nice but sadly the experience was not. They charge $75 per person for a tasting and tour. The tour was interesting but not worth that price. Everywhere else we went that day charged a fee and waived it when we bought wine. Not this place although my husband and I spent $450 on wine purchases and our friends bought at least $200 if not more. Other places we went that day served cheese and crackers with the wine tasting. This placed served water. We would have been been better off to come buy a bottle or two of their finest and share it amongst ourselves rather than pay the tasting fee. To further compound our unhappiness with this place, our host chastised our driver for arriving 15 minutes early. It's not like he had other guests that we pulled him away from and it's not like we didn't spend money buying wine. Nothing here justified that kind of price and that kind of treatment. Plenty of other nice wineries in Napa to choose from. Especially wineries that provide better service and take better care of their clientele without gouging them.

We visited back Napa back in September and I am finally getting around to leaving reviews! Our host was David and he was incredibly friendly and gracious. I had been a little stressed at the beginning because we were running about 7 minutes late, but he didn't make us feel pressed for time during our tour + tasting.
We opted for the Estate Tour + Tasting at the estate location and this was by far the most beautiful property and views we saw during our trip. If you are visiting Napa and have never been to Mayacamas, then you must add it as a destination during your trip! The mountain views were incredible and since it was such a clear day you could see the bay over the valley. We got to have a small wine tasting at the top of the property and then taste wine from the barrels in the barrel room and then finish off with a tasting inside. We ended up purchasing a bottle of their Chardonnay to drink back at the Airbnb after dinner.
David also told us there were goats that they have on the property to help with landscaping, etc, but sadly they were on the other side of the property the day we were visiting. Who wouldn't love a wine tasting with goats frolicking around?Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 66136Jan 28, 2024
Lovely grounds at this storied vineyard. We had a private jeep tour going up over the mountains, and tasting in the private tasting room. We visited because of the scenery from A Walk in The Clouds and enjoyed our visit. The wine is pricey due to being family owned and made in small batches, but tasty! I recommend a visit to this lovely vineyard!

This was the most amazing experience for a wine tasting we've ever experienced. David T. was a most gracious and generous and knowledgeable host. He took us around on a covered four wheeler to different vineyards on the 500 acre property, with tastings at each stop of their Chardonnays, which were the best we've ever had. Spectacular views at high elevations. Epic. We toured the barrel seller with 100 year old barrels and more tastings. We met Cash the vineyard dog who loves breadsticks. We ended with a private tasting in their elegant dining room. From start to finish the hospitality and care went above and beyond. Tip: hard to get ride share up there because it is more remote. Schedule a private cab service to and from. They also can assist with this recommendation and it worked very well for us. The highlight of our trip to Napa.

The property is absolutely gorgeous, the ATV tour was a unique, and delightful experience. Maybe our host was not having a good day, or maybe he could tell we were wine novices? Either way, the man with the salt and pepper, long hair, tied back in a ponytail, who never even told us his name, was pretty awful.
I don't expect to be given an entire lecture on the history of the property and the wine making process, but JFC show a little enthusiasm. He came off really snobby and left my party of four with a taste of sour grapes in our mouths. There were parts of the tour that felt rushed, and the fact that he didn't ask our names nor did he give us his was very unsettling to me. We visited 7 wineries over the course of 3 days and all other hosts we encountered were more than hospitable, and excited to teach us wine novices new things.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dave M.Sonoma, CA01Dec 21, 2023
One of a kind experience in Napa. Warm and knowledgable staff, great wines, and beautiful estate - highly recommended.
Commit to due diligence when planning your mountain visit i.e. transportation, travel time, weather, etc. This winery is off the beaten path and rewards prior planning.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 1 - Amber B.Manhattan, NY09Aug 20, 2023
We had a fantastic time during our tasting. It offered a unique tour of the vineyard and our guide, David, was very friendly and knowledgeable. I loved hearing about the wine making process from the perspective of a viticulturist.
David made the experience enjoyable for all four of us on the tour, even though we had very different levels of familiarity with / exposure to wine and the winemaking process.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Chris L.San Diego, CA018Jul 20, 2023
Long drive. Expensive. Rude staff. I suggest avoiding this establishment as there are many more wineries in Napa that are much better.

This winery in the hills on the border of Napa and Sonoma is just gorgeous!! Be warned, it is a trek/ curvy drive up... DO NOT DRINK AND DRIVE (ever!!) but especially not with this one...
It burnt down in a fire in 2017, and they are currently in the process of rebuilding. The grapes were untouched by the fire, and the wines were amazing!!!
They still offer a great experience, with golf carts to the lookout point and also to the vineyards.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Alex D.Los Angeles, CA107158Jan 1, 2023
Some of the best Cabernet Sauvignon you can get in Napa from tastings open to the public. Servers are exceptionally polite.
