Maxdons Bar And-Grill

What a gem of a place we were lucky to find on our trip out to Lancaster to see the Poppy reserve we found Maxdon's for lunch! This was the best steak I have ever eaten! I had the 12 oz Rib Eye and it was seasoned and cooked to perfection! My gin and tonic was made perfectly as well. Vibe was chill, there were great tunes on the jukebox. Jeannie was our cook/bartender/server she was fabulous and fun. The soup and salad bar was delicious as well. I had both a salad and broccoli cheese soup which was mmmm mmm good. We had the bacon mac and cheese as our side with dinner...I highly recommend it. Come here and have a steak as it is much better than a lot of places we have here in Las Vegas. Thank You Jeannie! How bout dah?!

Locals know the prices......... we knew right away the bill was wrong.

Otherwise, good food. Cool atmosphere, as usual. We love this place. Been coming for years ...

Was shocked our bill went from 171 to 133 but still over charged in the end over a mistake that was non existent on the tab lol..

Will still come back but please itemize the tabs... a dirty martini for 15.75 is steep. . . A screwdriver for 11 and change seems right. ..which means a shaken drink is 3-4 dollars more? Never had that happen before. . Hurts to type but have to let community members know.

Only been here twice. Food is very good. However, they just give you a bill amount when you go to pay, instead of a bill with the items on it. I don't even know if I got someone else's. The end amount always sounds a bit steep and shady. Maybe I'm just the new kid getting screwed over. It took me forever, like almost an hour, to flag down the bartender for my second drink, and I was sitting at the bar!

However, I tried to tell the bartender to give me one quarter back (Aldi shopping) and keep the change. I gave her a 20 on a $15 drink. She only heard the "keep the change" part. She was awfully quick at collecting that money, though!

The salad bar is nothing special. The mashed potatoes and the Mac and cheese are so-so, but the tomato bisque is very tasty. The garlic bread and french fries are delicious. The 19 oz ribeye steak was incredible. The service is very friendly. The atmosphere is comfortable with dim lighting, red leather booths, and a grill where the steak is cooked in the back of the room.

Very good steak nicely cooked and so juicy definitely recommend. They were nice and I would go again.

We went last night, and I got the top sirloin steak, which was delicious. The mac & cheese with bacon and jalapeños was freaking amazing and their broccoli cheddar soup was super yummy you get salad from the salad bar or you can make yourself which is always a plus and there Paloma was really good from the bar. The bartender and servers were all very nice and attentive.

I'm a dive bar girl! And when you walk in, that's the vibe you get... h til they smack you in the plate with a steak!
I did give this place 2 visits before the review... both experiences were great!
The people who work here are so nice.
This time we ordered the rib-eye with garlic bread and Mac n cheese with jalapeños and bacon... AMAZING!
Steak was great quality, the medium-rare cook was spot on. That Mac -n- cheese... delicious!

If you've never been- give it a go!

Best food in the A.V. we'll be going there on weekends instead of the restaurants near the Mall.

Who would think this little "dive bar" had such excellent food? Burgers and steaks are exceptional. Love their little salad bar with homemade salad dressings. The ambiance is certainly not that of fine dining--in fact you may feel like you've been transported back to the 70s-80s, but service is always great. Must be 21 to enter, so sorry to families with younger kids.

First things first...any restaurant that doesn't have a drink menu but has a full bar means business. You better know what you like, and they can make you ANYTHING! Drinks were great. Well poured. On to the food. I had a burger with added toppings, and my wife had the top sirloin. Both ordered to medium. Burger came out great. The mac n cheese is probably the best in the AV. It came loaded with jalapeños and bacon. Bacon was fresh, not the crappy pre-cooked bits, and the portion was very generous. My wife's steak came out a touch more rare than what she likes, but it's better to be more rare than nuked to all hell. The flavor on the food was top-notch. Steak was well seasoned. . Avoid the chains and come here. The vibes inside are great too.
