I'm not sure what will happen first: the sun expanding and swallowing the earth, or me receiving my claims check.
Seriously though one of their customers ran into my car while parked remotely in a parking lot in late October and I have yet to even get on the line with my adjuster (nearly one month later).
If you end up involved with having to get what's justly yours from this company be prepared to be frustrated, seemingly ignored, and at wit's end about how the people at this company sleep at night knowing the distress they bring to people's lives
0/5 would rather be run down by a steam roller and served to people at a Denny's.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Crystal S.Hyattsville, MD03Apr 11, 2020

If you ever have to file a claim against one of their customers, good luck! This is the WORST insurance company. One of their customers side swiped my car and it took months for MAIF to pay for the damages. The accident happened in Sept 2017, they mailed me a check in Jan 2018. When my repair shop needed a copy of the adjuster's report, MAIF refused to send it to me. The case's agent, Leon Hazley, ignored all of my requests for the paperwork (several calls and emails went unanswered). It wasn't until my insurance started making demands that this one simple request was met. MAIF is an awful company, and their agents (in particular Leon Hazley) are clueless and terrible at their jobs.

This is a terribly run insurance company with a DMV - approach to insurance. I got rear ended by a driver insured with them where I was not at fault.
They are only open from 8 to 4:30. The adjustor was pretty unresponsive and hard to get a hold of, going as far as changing his phone number on me. Two months pass by and he still hasn't completed the investigation or gotten in contact with the driver. I finally got them to respond to the claim when I posted a negative review on their Facebook page, and I got a response that day. It turns out their driver was excluded from their policy, so they denied the claim. Seriously, it shouldn't take two months to figure that out.
God forbid if anyone gets into an accident with one of their insured.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - A Z.Baltimore, MD07Jun 5, 2015
This has been this worst experience dealing with this company. They don't have a 24/7 phone number to place claims. I am now going on 1 week of dealing with a car accident that I was not at fault, and just found out that I can't get my vehicle into the body shop for repair as scheduled for Monday because they should have set up the tow and the representative put it off on the auto body shop. This is absolutely ridiculous. I've been beyond patient with dealing with this process, but this is ridiculous. I feel bad whoever else gets hit by a driver insured by MAIF because their service is of the lowest standards.
