About the Business
Established in 2019. Maryhill has opened its third satellite tasting room in Woodinville, Washington. Located just 30 minutes northeast of Seattle, Woodinville Wine Country is home to more than 100 wineries and tasting rooms representing every appellation in Washington. Maryhill Winery will occupy nearly 10,000 square feet of Woodinville's historic Hollywood Schoolhouse, a beloved landmark since its construction by the Derby School District in 1912. The building has been everything from a school to a dance hall to a roller-skating rink. The Hollywood Schoolhouse has been restored to its turn-of-the century style, down to the grand ballroom's hardwood floors, antique bar and brick fireplace. Maryhill occupies the grand ballroom and upper floor, along with a full commercial kitchen. Maryhill offers special events and rentals. Visitors are able to enjoy Maryhill's wide selection of Washington wines from both inside the lovingly restored building and outside among the beautiful gardens and outdoor balconies.

We arrived at Maryhill later than planned this evening, and we missed the last call for food and wine by just 4 minutes!
I've had a wine-tasting at Maryhill on my bucket list for a long time, so it is still on my bucket list!
We got there at 6:34pm, and the last call for food and wine was at 6:30pm.
The ambience is really lovely, with a huge map of Washington State on one wall, sparkling light fixtures throughout, a fireplace (so nice, especially on a cold winter's day!), and several tables with chairs.
The gentleman who greeted us had a great vibe, and fortunately I didn't leave empty handed - I asked him if I could buy one bottle of wine to go, and he said sure. I'd noticed a delicious-looking Rose that is currently featured on Maryhill's website. It has notes of strawberry, peach, and vanilla. I love all three of those tasting notes, so of course I had to get it.
I couldn't recall the name of it, but he knew immediately which Rose I was referring to when I mentioned those tasting notes to him.
He asked me if I wanted my Rose chilled, and I responded that a chilled bottle of Rose would be preferred, but that it wasn't absolutely necessary. He was very nice about getting me the chilled bottle of Rose.
I thought that the price of my bottle of Rose was quite reasonable for the quality and taste.
I don't drink much, or often, and I know very little about wines, but sometimes a nice glass of wine is the perfect thing.
I am currently slowly sipping my glass of 2021 Maryhill Rose of Sangiovese, back at home in my comfy chair. My Rose is fantastic!

Cozy elegant wine tasting experience.
Ambiance is exactly what we were looking for in regards to a Woodinville wine tasting experience. We had our pick of sitting on a high top vs a table. Definitely recommend the high top so you can see out the windows. The lighting is bright and natural while there's a cozy fireplace warming the place up.
The flight of wine was a nice large selection of 7 wines. It's a great deal if you like one of the wines you can essentially buy a bottle for an extra $10-20. I was hoping to find a wine I liked from the tasting but I honestly didn't really love any of them. I thought the serving size was great but this wines did not suit my palette.
The Brie cheese dip was delicious though and they gave us extra crackers since there was so much dip!
Overall great experience and would recommend

I have experienced both the bar tasting as well as a sit down flight tasting. Both were pretty good, but I usually prefer the bar tastings because they tend to feel more personal. When you order the flight, you just get the flight menu to refer back to. I do love that the flight includes seven wines in the tasting, as it is more than the usual amount that is offered at other tasting rooms/wineries. The Sangiovese is definitely my new favorite. It was so delicious that we purchased a bottle to take home.
This spot is close to a lot of other wineries, and makes it easy to visit multiple in a single day.

Maryhill was by far what I traditionally think of a tasting room. It was beautiful and elegant but then it lost me a bit with boxes of wine in the middle of the floor opting for a Costco look. It was a bit weird.
Unlike many of the other tasting room Maryhill elects to provide the entire flight of wine at once. It makes for a pretty picture but I really missed hearing about each wine and the background of it from its grapes to its tasting notes. Instead our server placed our flights down and then left. We didn't see him again until our bill was dropped off.
We opted for the bread and it was good. The presentation was unique. But Maryhill left me wanting.

Stacey, thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback regarding your experience. We do love our beautiful historic building, it has come to feel like home since we moved in and became a fully functioning tasting room and bistro. As far as our wine storage, one of the difficult things with a historic building is finding enough storage for things like our daily wine supply (with over 60 wines to showcase!) and our wine club orders. Currently we are releasing our September wine club release and often have to bring these shipments in on pallets for our members and this is likely this is what you saw.
I also wanted to extend our regrets regarding the lack of experience you received while tasting our wines. We take great pride in the experience we provide and the engagement we have with our guests and this was clearly not what your experience was. I will be taking this to our team and using this as a coaching opportunity. I would love to invite you back for 2 complimentary tastings should you choose to visit again, as i'm positive we can exceed your expectations.
Thank you again for your feedback, we aim to constantly improve. - 191831062Nov 29, 2023
We visited last week as a part of "Toys for Tastings" with participating wineries in Woodinville.
Such a great cause supporting Toys for Tots- buy two gifts equal to $30+ and you earn four tastings at participating wineries.
When we arrived we were seated near the fire- great for a cold night. The gentleman who seated us and chatted with us for a bit and the server were very kind. Unfortunately the server was pretty soft spoken and couldn't hear him very well over the conversations of others as well as the music. This flight of seven wines had three white and four reds. Typically I enjoy Rieslings, Viogniers, some Pino Grigios, some Sauvignon Blancs, Moscato, some Gewürztraminer, and Muscat... red wines usually give me headaches and are too dry and not sweet enough for my tastes. Unfortunately the three white options didn't get me super excited. The only one that was OK was the Viognier Classic but honestly for me it wasn't one I'd want to buy and drink. The other six just really didn't taste great to me or my husband and mother who are primarily red wine drinkers. Nothing on the tasting menu hit the spot so I guess it's true that everyone enjoys different kinds of wines because they had many people visiting there that evening. $35 for a tasting seems a bit hefty- albeit seven wines to try- since none of them got us excited and some actually we didn't even finish which is pretty rare for us during tastings!
The wine and noise level got three stars in my opinion but the ambiance, employees, nice fireplace fire, and participating in Toys for Tastings bumped it up to four stars. You might have a different wine palette so give them a try with this great opportunity to support Toys for Tots and you'll get to see if their wine is to your liking...plus a chance to visit three more wineries as part of this great cause!
It was a nice evening with laughs. Give them a try during the Toys for Tastings- great way to support a great organization and try out some local wineries!!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Cameron D.Orange, CA2842715Apr 26, 2024
Absolutely delightful experience at Maryhill Winery! From the moment we stepped in, the ambiance was charming and inviting. The bottle of white wine we selected perfectly complemented our meal, which included the succulent steak chimichurri, heavenly gnocchi, and a refreshing green goddess salad. But the star of the show was the new Rueben sandwich, hands down the best we've ever tasted! The service was impeccable, making our evening even more enjoyable. Can't wait to visit again!

Go here for LUNCH if wine tasting in Woodinville! Excellent service, wine selection, and thank you for cool air conditioning with plenty of space to walk around.
Also there's a really pretty drive-up for your ride, so you can pretend you're someone special.

There are many good tasting rooms and Maryhill should definitely be one of those you visit. First, it is a nice place for tastings. The interior is wide and inviting, where you can either site to have food (near the entrance) or just do tastings (more towards the rear).
We were just there for tastings. One nice thing is that you do not need reservations. The tasting fee if $25 which is not charged if you taste wines. The tasting offers a nice range of red and white.
We just went to the bar with glasses and tasted one at a time--although it seems like there is also option to get small glasses of each wine.
The person pouring the wines was very friendly and knowledgeable. After we got our wine, we went outside where they have a few really nice places to sit and drink. There is a nice little stream and it is really pretty.
We ended up getting a couple bottles and will definitely be back again.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jun 6, 2022
Great wine and nice inside and outside area.
We also ate and the food was really good. I had the gnocchi and brie. Gnocchi is a little pricey but still good, brie was amazing!! I had a bite of my friends brie and jam sandwich and that was really good as well.
The Sangiovese wine was great as well as their serendipity.
Only thing that could be improved, I wanted to do the wine tasting and to do so you have to keep going back up to the front for your next tasting. This was inconvenient as we were eating and there was always a line. They used to have trays for the wine and I asked for one but I guess they're only for members. I don't think that's fair and they should be for everyone. So instead of doing the wine tasting because of the hassle I just got a glass. I was excited for the tasting and wanted to buy a bottle to bring home.
