Gotta update my review now that I was able to make it before they close the kitchen and run out of food lol
Wide selection of DELICIOUS bentos and sushi. The sushi looked fresh and the cooked (packed) lunches are replenished until their kitchen closes at 2pm. I'm stuck with the cooked and veggie rolls (pregnant) but gotta say - the aburi seared salmon was amazing. Not to mention the prices for these made me and my wallet happy.
The customer service was lovely -- very polite workers who immediately tried to help me when checking out.
Glad I live two miles away from here! Already couldn't wait to give birth to try their sushi haha :D2/18/2023Previous reviewWhat a great find! This place is tucked in Georgetown and is only a few miles from where I live.
This market is quite small but serves really good sushi and bentos. The kitchen closes at 2pm and we went after that. Most of the bentos and sushi are gone when we arrived yet so many people were still pulling up and entering the store so that says a lot.
I got an ebi tempura roll and it was delicious. As someone who's currently pregnant, I'm happy that they have plenty of choices for cooked food. I can't wait to try their raw nigiris/sushi though as I have read good things about them. For a marketplace sushi, this is a really good deal (fairly priced and good quality) than other marketplace sushi rolls and bentos. - 681751642/13/2023
Small but mighty. Another Georgetown gem that has all of your basic Asian sauces and select saké. Well-known brands and a good selection of non-alcoholic teas and other drinks. Great for stopping in if you are out and about.
The real win is the prepared hot and cold food area in the back. Various sushi, some karage (Japanese-style fried chicken), and a mix of other dishes. There are a few items for my vegetarian liking which have always been tasty. Prices are reasonable so if you are in the neighborhood give it a try and expand your horizons if this is new cuisine to you. - 305118231/8/2023
One of Seattle's older long standing Japanese grocery store with a sushi/bento/hot food shop inside.
A lot of your essentials here from snacks, to produce, to kimchi mixes. It's a small place but you'll find the goods for specific Japanese/Korean dishes
Love the quick food here. Bento made daily and their Donburis are delicious.
Used to be my go to place if I'm taking a break from the west Seattle bridge closure. - 237721863/2/2023
A very cute/home-y store that gives off a family run vibe. They have your favorite Japanese drinks, snacks, kitchenware, instant foods, alcohol, fresh produce and a delicious deli. The staff are so sweet and hardworking, the inside is always clean and organized and the quality of all their food is delicious! If you're in need of something to feel like home or some authentic Asian goodies, Maruta is your place to go!

This is a really nice grocery store plus deli. I have tried sushi from all over Seattle and nothing beats the Sushi here. The quality is fresh and the price is pretty fair. My favorite is the sashimi and the $6 deli plates. I'm hoping to try the poke bowl that just came out on my next trip. Overall nice, clean, and affordable Asian grocery store.

Walking in here reminds me of the mom-and-pop deli/grocery stores in Hawaii. A little bit of the Asian treats and must haves in one small place. Hot/cold selections at the deli, especially the bento boxes are reasonably priced, I think. You might find yourself saying, "Oooh! They have this!" or "Oh, I gotta try this!". Whenever I can, I stop by around 5 p.m. so I can get deli bento boxes and sushi at half off prices. No need to worry about dinner! Secret is out of the bag! Hurry and try it out!
Staff are very friendly every single time. Maruta is a neighborhood gem. - 2741223540412/4/2022
Cute mom and pop Japanese supermarket with an awesome deli. It's nothing fancy and it's not huge - but there's something so charming about it. Plus it has its own parking lot which is always a bonus. They have produce and all kinds of Japanese groceries like nori and instant ramen and japanese curry and snacks like pocky sticks. And if you go to the right after you enter, that is the deli. They have made to order food like oyako donburi and they also have ready made grab and go things like bento boxes and sushi rolls too. And it's delicious!! This is a wonderful place to look around in. Support this small and local business!

This place is hidden gem yo!!! Took me this long to know this spot! But it's never too late to know I guess. I stopped by on a weekday during lunch hour. The parking lot was mostly full so I have to park at handicap but I know what I'm gonna to grab at the place. It will be quick!
There are large selection of different type of Japanese items from bento boxes, sushi, sashimi, appetizers, and Asian food as well!
I got a cold sausage patty bento box, calamari, Ebi fry roll, and Cali roll! It was really good and the price is right! You couldn't find it anywhere nowadays to the price they have in any market in Seattle.
It was delicious and I ate them all! It was so good that I came back the next day for my lunch as well! I will try something new every time until I get tired of this place! - 12936927625/17/2022
I didn't realize I hadn't reviewed this market, but ever since I left Seattle I have been thinking of this place and its delicious sushi.
This is a small market, especially compared to Uwajimaya, but it has a great selection. The sushi options are wonderful and cheap, and they go on clearance in the afternoon, I think around 5. They also have a hot foods section with some fried options, rice, etc.
The market portion has a great variety of snacks, both savory and sweet. There's also some groceries in the back, produce, drinks, and frozen options.
I used to come here at least once a week when I lived nearby and I miss it so much. Great lunch options, good prices, and friendly service. - 15310318410/7/2022
COME FOR THE DELI!! You can get a combo meal (steamed rice or extra $ for fried rice and I think chow mein) for such a great price. 3 item combo comes to just over 8 bucks for a great, affordable and tasty meal. Sushi/sashimi here is good too for the price with a solid selection of cold eats. The store itself has a small selection of Japanese groceries.
