I was really happy with everything until my wedding day when I got the actual flowers. I ordered a bridal bouquet and 4 bridesmaid bouquets. Everyone I talked to was really nice, and communication was timely.
To start from the beginning, I met with Martha to plan what I wanted, and she took detailed notes and I sent her photos with what I wanted. The main thing I wanted was succulents in my bouquet, and the bridesmaids would have roses. A week before the wedding Martha confirmed with me what I wanted - succulents in my bouquet and roses for the bridesmaids.
When I got my flowers there were no succulents, and the bridesmaids bouquets were not roses. The flowers looked nice, but it wasn't what I wanted or what I expected. I don't know what went wrong, but I would recommend a different place if you want to get what you ask for.
To be fair, I didn't give her a chance to fix it because I got my flowers right before we started photos, so I didn't have time to do anything about it. And they looked nice - so it wasn't a disaster - it just wasn't what I expected.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Lindsey J.Saint Paul, MN048Jul 22, 2022

Addendum to Initial review: my review went from an initial 1 star to four. The florist returned our call today and delivered an arrangement that was beautiful and as it should be, with floral foam. I suspect the initial issue of no foam or support was an oversight, perhaps by an new employee? Regardless, the fact that Martha's called and fixed the issue is honorable. .
1st review: We received this bereavement floral arrangement from a friend through Martha's. It was delivered to us direct from the florist. The arrangement essentially fell apart when we lifted it out of the delivery box. The stems were cut short and put in a low profile ceramic container with nothing to support them. No floral foam or mesh to keep them in place or in the container. These photos were taken less than 2 days after delivery and after removing the worst/wilted flowers. It actually made me more sad that my friends paid for this, so I would NEVER want to mention it to them.
So that's the rub. You buy flowers for someone else sight unseen, and the recipient in most cases would never share if the flowers weren't as the buyer intended.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Lauren D.Atlanta, GA181157May 27, 2019
I gotta hand it to Martha--my spouse-to-be and I walked into the shop on a Friday with what might be considered a fairly unreasonable request: could she prepare a boutonniere and a bridal bouquet for our wedding on, uh, the following Monday? Either this woman was *delighted* to fulfill this last-minute request and leave the flowers in the care of a neighbor on a day when she normally would not be open, or she's just a damn good actor. We'd just met her moments before, and when she heard we were getting married she grabbed our hands and squealed for joy.
I *loved* my bouquet--it was a gorgeous bunch of pink peonies, small white blossoms, and roses the color of the silk that bound the stems. I actually dried and kept them, because they are that special to me. Thanks Martha, you're a peach among women!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 21166279Apr 8, 2011First to Review
Since I was in the neighborhood, I stopped in on a recent sunny afternoon just to see what was in there. I found a delightfully decorated shop and a calm and welcoming atmosphere. All sorts of beautiful things on display and for sale. And to top it all off, Martha came out of the back with a warm smile and a friendly "hello". She's the owner and the floral designer and seems very nice.
There is a small selection of locally handmade jewelry, and I tried on a necklace that I really liked and learned that it was made by her sister, Edith Ann, who lives right in the neighborhood.
A great place to browse at "lovely" things and smell/see fresh flowers and visit with Martha.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Kelly T.Brooklyn, NY253928Jun 14, 2016
Martha's Gardens did a beautiful job on a bouquet I ordered for my grandmother's 95th birthday. I gave them discretion over picking the best seasonal fliers and they did not disappoint. My family has been raving about how gorgeous it was, and it was a perfect gift for my grandma.

Martha did my daughters grooms dinner and wedding flowers, they were so beautiful and beyond our expectations. Brian & Mayann (sp?) were awesome to work with at the venue. They were fun and over accommodating for all the day of final touches. Thank you Martha!

When Martha and I had met I was working for her on a home project. When she told me she owned a floral shop this was a no brainer she would do our wedding floral. Martha and I met and we went over my vision. With many Pinterest photos of course. When my bouquets were delivered to my hotel suite I was blown away! I almost started crying over the beauty of them. Also my vision was given to me by the masterminds at the floral shop. Martha and her team went above and beyond to add to our perfect day with all of the attendants flowers, centerpieces and all of the candles. It was truly perfect! I can't say how many times our guests asked who we went through for floral and how stunning it all was. Martha will have our business for many events to come as this shop is full of artists! Everyone is always in a great mood and the vibe inside the shop is electrifying. Thank you so much Martha and team!!!!!

This seems like a place you discover, and it's a great way to begin the day. I usually get my flowers from Trader Joe's for $6, and am totally satisfied. I told Martha that I like that type. She told me she likes to not be like the store, but can put anything together. I've actually never seen such an airy shop. Talk about truth in advertising. I would definitely seek out special occasion arrangements from here. I ended up buying the coolest squared tapered candles for Easter in pink and hot pink. I could see these for all the holidays. There's a really cool pearl type pen for sale that I have my eye on too.

Where to begin with Martha's Gardens. Martha makes the experience of giving and receiving flowers a pure joy. Her enthusiasm and heart are the essences of flower giving. She has done all our family's weddings, funerals, and celebrations. I can always tell a 'Martha' arrangement, there is something dazzling and creative, unexpected and yet perfect in each one. She has a style all her own, but she listens to what you want and somehow 'reads' your hopes for the final product. I also love that she is a small shop, a female owner that has not been swallowed up by larger corporate-think. Supporting a family for many years and growing from behind the house garage business to a thriving local landmark, Martha is an inspiration. Don't hesitate to visit for a single candle or your life's next big event.
