I am an Esthetics student of Marinello in Reno, NV. Since I've been there, this school has consistently had the same problems that remain unresolved. Such issues include but aren't limited to...

      1. Broken Equipment, including steamers, microdermabrasion machines, stereo.
      2. Lack of supplies
      3. Horrendous front desk reception. Absolutely embarrassing.
4.Contradictory information taught between the teacher and textbook
      5. Laundry burning and making the towels smell like burned oil

I am half-way through the program now, and none of these problems have been fixed. I am very disappointed with the school from a student perspective.

Poor school and teaching. I have been going to class there for four weeks, and are sadly disappointed in the staff and teachers.
It is very mean girl environment, even with the staff. I walked in the other day and a staff member quickly looked away and whispered not so quietly, "hopefully if you ignore them they won't acknowledge you." And they both burst out laughing.
Not to mention, I have yet to receive all the supplies I've paid for, and the school will not let you practice with theirs, and I'm four weeks in. My tuition payed for books and all the supplies I needed, but now I'm told they are of limited use, only for clients. I am being set up to fail.
We were given a assignment last week to work with gels, I'm a aspiring nail tech, but my kit of supplies has not come and the school will not let us practice with theirs.
Poor organization, and lecture after lecture that, my teacher speaking, "I am not here teach you nails, you come to me- I'm only obligated to help you pass the board." That's a quote. She shows something once and if you do it wrong, she says, "didn't I show you that last week?"
They only give you seven days for a refund, if it would have been a week in a half I would have asked for one.

I am an employee of Marinello and have my hair done here once a month and always by different students. They are always fun and amazing at what they do! I love this place and the students are a huge part of what makes it so great!

Yes, I go to school here and with that being said, I don't plan on basing this review off of anything I see, hear or do, while at school. This is a review simply based off of my experience of coming here, as a customer. I brought my niece here for her birthday, for a mini spa day and she absolutely loved having the "big girl" experience. Upon walking in, the front desk was a little rude to us. The girl at the front was short and hurried us to the side. Once we were walked to the back and the nail tech took over, our experience was great! She treated my niece just as she would an adult. She took time to make sure she got the full salon experience, even though my niece is only six! I was ever so grateful for her patience as my niece took her time to pick out ten different colors, that she wanted to be incorporated onto her nails. For being a student, she was patient and quick as she got both her nails and toenails done in about an hour. Upon exiting, the front desk was polite. They quickly rang us up and we were on our way.
