How's the poutine here? Are the cheese curds fresh?

The poutine is pretty good. The gravy is thick. The cheese curds are good. They don't taste as good or fresh as the ones I usually get in Ontario, Canada. When ever I'm homesick and craving a poutine it def does the trick. Also make a… more

I will always recommend Maple a leaf Diner, the best Canadian diner in the DFW area! All the food is delicious and picture worthy. It's one of those places that the food taste just as good as it looks. Everything I've had there is delicious and you can ask for almost any coffee to be made.

Our server was a nice lady who was attentive and helpful. She was very nice and all of her customers seemed to enjoy her.
The food was delicious. I'm glad I was able to eat poutine for breakfast. The Canadian bacon was also very good. The homemade whipped cream was delicious.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Leslie M.Scottsdale, AZ19Apr 22, 2024

Lived up to the hype.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Chris H.Dallas, TX08Apr 14, 2024
What a great place. Friendly, wait staff are eager to help, great food at good prices.
I had the chicken and waffle with bacon. It was a delight. Chicken was tender, the bacon was flavorful, the waffle was well done, and there was an interesting cream puff at the top. Everyone in my party were also happy with their food.
There is an array of desserts, cookies, pies, so hard to choose. I had the chocolate cream pie, one of the best I've ever had.
I last ate at Maple leaf diner a few years back, they have since added a number of new features such as new tables and dividers, it's clear that they care about the premises.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Hannah L.Dallas, TX249172Apr 13, 2024
This was my first time visiting Maple Leaf Diner!! It was such a unique Canadian gem, with lots of unique items on the menu.
Service/Ambiance: The service at this establishment truly stands out, thanks to the attentive and friendly waitstaff. The ambiance is nothing short of inviting. With plenty of seating available, you never feel cramped or rushed, allowing you to enjoy your meal at your own pace. The lighting is just right - not too dim, not too bright - creating a cozy atmosphere that's perfect for a meal.
The Chicken, Bacon & Waffles dish at this establishment is a fusion of flavors. The chicken is fried perfectly and the savory bacon adds so much depth. At the bottom lies two perfectly cooked Belgian waffles, creating a delightful contrast between crunchy and fluffy. But that's not all - the addition of fresh strawberries and delicate cream puffs adds a touch of sweetness that elevates the dish to new heights of indulgence
Now, let's talk about the Poutine. This classic Canadian comfort food is elevated to new levels of deliciousness here. Imagine a generous serving of crispy fries, perfectly golden and cooked to perfection. Then, imagine them smothered in a rich and savory gravy that's bursting with flavor. Each forkful was just so delightful!!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 35439881Apr 13, 20241 check-in
At 9am on a Friday there were plenty of tables available but the place definitely filled up within the hour. The 6 of us sat in a huge booth. They can definitely accommodate large parties. Started with a half order of poutines. The fries were COMPLETELY covered with gravy and gooey cheese. I ordered the "stack" per my nephews request (they wanted the cream puffs). Two waffles, 3 pieces of chicken tenders, 2 pieces of bacon and 2 cream puffs. The waffles are layered with strawberries and whipped cream. The chicken was very tender! Bacon was crispy enough. Blueberry pancakes were another hit! The kids meals are a great deal at $6.99. I think the one egg breakfast would've been enough for an adult even.
Our waitress, Melissa, was great! She checked on us throughout our meal. Refilled my coffee as needed. Prioritized getting the kids meals out first.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 2412527Apr 5, 2024
So, there I was making my way out of Dallas with a hunger bigger than Texas itself. My taste buds were itching for something homey, as I was on my way to Arkansas, and boy, did I find one at the Maple Leaf Diner. A Canadian spot in Dallas? As unexpected as finding a penguin in a cowboy hat, but hey, I'm all about those culinary plot twists.
Walking up, the host greeted us with a smile so warm, I half expected to see a moose waving at me next. It was like being teleported straight to Canada, minus the long flight and the snow. We were seated quicker than you can say "Eh," in a spot that felt just right amidst the bustling ambiance of fellow food adventurers.
Now, let me talk about our waiter - a true gem, shining brighter than the Northern Lights. The place was buzzing like a hive in spring, but he treated us like we were the Queen and King of Canuck. With a grin and a grace, he dished out recommendations, and my boyfriend, bless his adventurous soul, dove right into one of them and emerged victorious and satisfied.
As for me? I dove fork-first into the farmer's omelette, which was a masterpiece of eggy, meaty, cheesy goodness. Those fried potatoes on the side? Imagine biting into a cloud, if clouds were crispy and seasoned to perfection. And the pancakes, oh the pancakes! Fluffier than my favorite pillow, drizzled with house-made maple syrup that was the stuff of sweet, sticky dreams. But let's not forget about the preserves--because, darling, these weren't your grandma's jelly. They were the kind of good that makes you want to write love songs about breakfast food.
All in all, Maple Leaf Diner wasn't just a meal; it was a journey--a delicious jaunt to our neighbors up north without ever leaving the Lone Star State. It was a reminder that sometimes, the best adventures are the ones you never see coming. So, if you're ever wandering through Dallas with a rumble in your belly and a spirit for adventure, swing by the Maple Leaf Diner. It's a Canadian invasion of the tastiest kind, and I'm here for it, eh!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 62186333Mar 27, 2024
Stop what you're doing and get down to Maple Leaf diner asap! Hands down the best Bacon chicken and waffles I've ever had. The dish was prepared mile high and full of bacon. They even added two cream puffs on top with extra love. The staff made me feel right at home and even told me their favorite options as well the background story of the establishment. This hole in the wall makes you feel like you're back on the farm eating fresh food prepared with care. The restaurant is clean, inviting and has tables big enough for the entire family.
Menu ranges in a variety of options so there's something for everyone!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mar 24, 2024
I'm so sad that I've lived in Dallas for years, and I didn't know this Canadian haven existed! Absolutely delicious!! I'm not a huge breakfast person and especially not a waffle person, but when I was told the Chicken, Bacon & Waffles was the go-to, I just had to, and I was so glad I did! I also really loved the pot roast poutine. Usually, the fries are so soggy that it just ruins it for me, but they were fresh, and the gravy was super flavorful. Definitely take dessert to go. You'll be way too stuffed from the food, but you know you want something for later.
The service was great and super fast. We went on a Friday morning, and it was steadily busy, but I'm told this place is extremely packed on the weekends, so I would get there early or join the waitlist ASAP!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Feb 23, 2024
We stayed at a hotel nearby and saw that they had a lot of reviews so we decided to come here for brunch.
We signed up on the Yelp waitlist while we got ready so by the time we got there it was a short wait. We killed time at the bakery next door and spice shop across the parking lot.
My boyfriend got the real canadian breakfast and I got the classic eggs benedict. The canadian bacon was delicious and eggs were perfectly poached. The breakfast potatoes weren't crispy so that wasn't great but I was so full at the end of it that I couldn't finish them anyways.
It's a very busy restaurant and can be loud but the waitstaff is nice and they don't rush you. There were some interesting choices on the menu but they looked way heavier than we wanted so we were glad to have gotten a lighter breakfast.
Next time we find ourselves in Dallas I think we will try a different brunch spot.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 23101135Mar 12, 2024
We absolutley loved this place!! The food was delicious!! I especially loved the cheese curds, so authentic. Our service was wonderful. Even though they were super busy the place was very clean. My only complaint is the wait was sooooo long and there needs to be another location in North Fort Worth
