Manuela was an amazing experience! A large group of us celebrated a friend's birthday here very recently. Everything was great. The location was super fun; being located in the Art's District. This is a great place to wander and get lost.
The restaurant interior was hip and the food was amazing! They have great service too.
I highly recommend this place for dinner on a sunny LA night!!!!!!!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nick E.University, Riverside, CA1021Mar 18, 2024

I love taking my friends and work colleagues here. It's a great place that showcase the best of the Arts District.
Brunch is the best time to go, as I've gone for dinner and I really enjoyed their brunch menu better. Their popover benedict is very addicting.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Eric C.Fullerton, CA1161071Apr 21, 2024
Fantastic and attentive service in an absolutely beautiful setting in the arts district.
The atmosphere is one of the best parts of this place. It is creatively decorated and open air, beautiful.
The drinks, biscuits, burgers, fish, are all delicious but very, very pricey. My partner and I tend to split things so we don't completely break the bank.
If you want something light and unfussy, come to Manuela.
If you are prepared to break the bank, head next door to Camphor. You'll spend even more but feel you've truly experienced something for the price.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Catherine M.Diamond Bar, CA14799Apr 18, 2024
Delicious food, refreshing cocktails, and lovely atmosphere. My group came here as a small, intimate birthday celebration and it was divine. We started with the biscuits (normally a plate of 3 pieces; more can be requested) and BBQ oysters (plate of 4 oysters). Both were tender and buttery. We followed that up with plates of the local mushroom, grilled yellowtail, and duck breast with a dish of sunchokes. All of it was wonderful. My SO normally does not like to order grilled fish but for Manuela, they took a chance and did not regret it. It's something they would order again. The duck was tasty and is a favorite in our group but the show-stealer was the large mushroom: The flavors reminded me of tender pieces of skirt-steak such that I think that only the most carnivorous snobs would have bone to pick with this meat-alternative. Sunchokes were a new food to us and I'm happy to say that I would consider adding this native food to my repertoire at home.
Manuela, to me, encourages diners to be present, in the moment, and I love that because that's how shared meals should be.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Apr 8, 20241 check-in

If you're looking for a restaurant in the Arts District, visit @manueladtla! We had the best seats, facing their open kitchen so we were able to watch all the orders being made ! I feel like more restaurants should have open kitchens because it always fascinating to see
*We started off with their Ocean Trout Tartare which was perfection on a plate, and followed with their Burrata Salad & Popover Benedict (presented beautifully) w/green apple juice + hibiscus iced tea

So my boyfriend's parents were in LA with us from Germany and his mom's name is Manuela. I thought it would be cute for us to have brunch here and she thought it was so fun that we were at a spot bearing her name. Great service, beautiful space, good food and lovely company. My boyfriend and I came back a second time and had drinks at their bar then stopped by the art galleries and bookstore. I love that they have a vegetable garden and grow their own veggies!

What a gorgeous place to have lunch/brunch. Vibe's chill and food was amazing!
Food/Drinks: Food was delicious. Our server recommended the cream biscuits to start, and her suggestion was on point. Best flaky bread I've ever had! I personally ended up having their venison burger, and it has earned being one of their most popular dish for a reason. It was recommended medium rare and it was super juicy. However, the best dish we had was the shared roasted cauliflower dish. It was seasoned amazingly well and I highly would recommend this as your filler!
Service/Ambiance: Top notch. Server was really knowledgeable on immediately started recommending dishes. Throughout our entire meal, other staff members would come by and clear our dishes as we finish them and provided new utensils. Huge plus. And obviously cannot disregard the views/ambiance! Outdoorsy feel and not chilly since they had heaters on.

Amazing food and service. The vibes were great. Loved the little kitchen garden on the side. I feel like the Chilaquiles might be a little underrated here. Especially if people don't know what it is and the description of it in the menu isn't too specific. But the dish tastes amazing!!!
Simply put Chilaquiles are tortilla chips, drenched in salsa with cheese and egg (I like adding avocado at home). But here they also add beans, crema, cilantro and radish! Simple dish but so so delicious!!!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 699152Mar 27, 2024
Aesthetically rustic decor. Los Angeles has unique commercial real estate. This restaurant located in the middle of an art plaza, with indoor and outdoor seating. Earthy design with professional staff, whom have nice Jean uniforms. The menu is simple with listed ingredients and alcohol variety.
Items ordered, cream biscuits, ta ta Tatiana (mocktail), pork chop and snap peas listed via images. The biscuits were buttery and flaky. The Tatiana mocktail was semi sweet with a kick of ginger, definitely order if nonalcoholic. The pork chop was decent, I recommend soak one side of the pork in the sauce for extra flavor. It had a charred odd taste, didn't care too much for it. Being from the south, I expected more flavor from the chop. The charred cabbage was a unique touch because in the south east of America, cabbage and pork chops are soul food cuisine. Lastly, snap pea dish was tasty, didn't care for the cheese but the crunchy quinoa, I think it was quinoa, was a compliment.
Furthermore, I gave three stars due to the lack of real flavor. Needed more spice seasoning and side dishes/appetizers are expensive for serving. Wasn't a need to charge $14 for a hand full of peas to share, I think this restaurant uses local/fresh ingredients. For some reason, America think it's expensive to eat organic. All and all, great for meeting friends/dates, meetings, etc... shareable fresh dishes so definitely don't eat here alone.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mar 23, 2024
Food: rich
Service: so friendly
Ambiance: trendy and breezy
When girls want to brunch we take it lightly.
The cream biscuits are so flaky and buttery. You get one per person.
My cocktail was refreshing but nothing out of this world.
My steak was juicy and and eggs were jammy. The pobñamo and tomatillo vinaigrette was a great touch. Wish there was a side salad or potatoes to it but it was delicious and satisfying. Also, my friend wanted to add meat to her chilaquiles and it's not allowed. Not a big deal, just nice to have a choice.
The peanut butter budino was beautifully layered.
The brown sugar and cinnamon latte over ice, top notch.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
