The first question I asked during my consultation is if anyone has ever gone blind or had their eyesight worse after visiting their practice, and they said no.

I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Mark Buchsbaum. He was the most calming doctor and made the whole experience, even the 'scary' lasik part relaxing, comforting, and easy. He was also great at explaining every step of the process before the treatment and during, which is what you want.

It's been amazing to wake up everyday, and especially go on vacation without worrying about contacts/glasses.

I had SMILE Laser Vision Correction done last week. Recovery was one day, and I was good to drive, work and do all regular stuff the next day.

The office staff, nurses, Thai and Dr. Buchsbaum, who performed the procedure were all super thoughtful, kind, and great at what they do.

All the details and info they shared when i booked were incredibly transparent as a saw as well as accurate to what they described and sent over without any surprises. I went back and forth on doing some sort of Lasik or Smile for about 10 years, and had i known this was so painless and stress-free I would have done it 10 years ago.

The surgery itself was only a few minutes but expect to be there for about 2-3 hours which they let you know when you book which includes testing, surgery, light paperwork and all that Jazz.

Being able to see perfectly without Glasses and contacts which i was never a fan of is truly incredible.

I've worn glasses and contacts ever since I can remember. I've had LASIK on my mind for the last few years, but was always too scared to take the jump. My brother did not have a great experience with his LASIK procedure, so it was important to me to find the best and most experienced care team - it's your vision, after all. After doing a few LASIK consults in Los Angeles, I decided to fly to New York after hearing how great the care team is at Manhattan LASIK Center.

Thai (manager) and Dr Niksarli took their time to answer all my questions, talk me through the process, and let me know there was a more advanced option that I was a better candidate for. After hearing about SMILE and meeting with the care team there, I decided this was the best fit for my needs - especially with the faster recovery time so I could fly back to resume my normal schedule. There are only a handful of medical offices that offer the SMILE procedure (and rarely any with as much experience with SMILE) in LA, so that solidified my decision to go with Manhattan LASIK Center.

On the day of the procedure, Patrick, helped take measurements and run a series of eye tests. Dr Niksarli and his care team made sure I was comfortable, calm, and relaxed - even giving me a blanket and teddy bear to hold on to.  Dr Niksarli did a great job walking me through each step of the procedure while it was happening so I knew what to prepare for. The procedure itself was short and painless - about 10-15 minutes.

After the procedure, I slept for the rest of the day, and the next day, I was able to see in 20/20 vision. I did a follow up exam the next day and was able to hop on a plane back to LA. I continued the antibiotic and steroid eye drops for 5 days following the procedure, and use the lubrication eye drops as needed.

If you have any doubts, this was one of the best decisions I've made, and I'm mad I didn't do it sooner. It's amazing to just wake up and see. My vision is better than it was in glasses and contacts, and it's like seeing the world in HD.

I Can't Believe I Did It!

Few days back, I did laser eye correction with a new procedure called Smile. It is very similar to LASIK, but less invasive and is less likely to have "dry eyes" side effect.

In all honesty, my vision was not that bad, I had -1 on each eye, which meant that I could live without glasses but could not see clear in distance, was not comfortable driving and absolutely had to wear glasses in airports, large stores and such.

Plus, our world is so beautiful, I want to see All of it bright and clear

Quick facts about procedure:
- You'll spend about 2-3 hours in the clinic total
- They will check your vision and whether you are a good candidate for surgery
- The surgery is 100% painless and takes about 10 minutes per each eye
- You'll have to wear sunglasses provided by the clinic the day of procedure, and when outside for the next week, to protect your eyes from UV light

Happy with my SMILE experience. It is life-changing without glasses. A little dry eyes in the first month, not anymore in 2-3 months. Staff is friendly. Doctor is knowledgeable and gave me a super informative walkthrough of the surgery process.

Did a virtual consultation for SMILE over the phone and was able to schedule my appointment for 2 weeks later (only because I have astigmatism and needed to stay out of my contact lenses 2 weeks!). They answered all my questions about payment and recovery time.

Had my SMILE procedure done yesterday at 6pm. It's 2pm the day after and I can see very well! Yes, there is some eye dryness but that's to be expected and my vision will improve over the next few weeks. I SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN THIS PROCEDURE DONE SOONER!

I was immediately at ease when I entered the office. Ty ran some tests, answered all of my questions and made me feel super comfortable. Then Dr. Buchsbaum performed a thorough eye examination before performing the surgery. The actual laser portion of the surgery is less than 15 seconds. He talked me through the entire thing and always made sure I was doing OK. I COULD NOT RECOMMEND COMING HERE ENOUGH FOR YOUR SMILE OR LASIK NEEDS. The entire office staff is extremely patient, thorough, polite, and caring.

In August 2020 I came into the Manhattan office and was evaluated for the SMILE procedure, I "passed" and we set the date: September 12th 2020.

To this day it still feels like one of the best decisions of my life.

I wore glasses through childhood and most of my adulthood so far before switching to contact lenses briefly. I was afraid of getting laser eye surgery but Dr. Niksarli and the staff in the office, as well as speaking to some satisfied customers put my mind at ease.

The procedure was FAST. Dr. Niksarli was very efficient and everything was over and done within a few minutes. I hardly noticed the time passing. I laid down for the procedure and just a moment later it was over. No pain or discomfort, my anxiety before the procedure was worse by far and Dr. Niksarli helped with that. After the procedure was over my vision was blurry for the rest of the day but it was still better than my uncorrected vision (no glasses/contacts) before the procedure.

The next morning, the 13th, I opened my eyes and I COULD SEE. For the first time since I was very young I could see. I didn't need glasses. I didn't need to fuss with contacts. I opened my eyes and I could see. I don't have to worry about losing my glasses, cleaning them, dealing with the rain/snow, or anything like that. Every day since then I've had the simple pleasure of being able to open my eyes and see.

TLDR - this place is amazing, professional, and care very much about their patient's experience! The SMILE technique is what I used and recovery was technically within a day!

In longer terms - I am a person who is very sensitive and worried about feeling pain. So Lasik or any long term fix beyond contacts didn't feel possible to pursue. But, my sister took a leap with Manhattan Lasik Center and had a wonderful experience so a year after her experience I also gave it a try!

I received the SMILE procedure, which was quick (about 15 min)! The measurements and eye test prior to the procedure were the longest part. Once I was done, it was blurry but I could see! I felt burning but it was bearable. My procedure was at 2pm-ish by 9pm-10pm the same night I could see better and felt no more pain!

Expect feeling extra sleepy for the day of the procedure and afterwards! But I could look at screens(with my light blockers on) the very same night!

I would strongly recommend coming here if you are in the near by area!
