Seems like the pizza in the restaurant went downhill a little when the deli closed, and the staff have gotten careless. Fortunately, the pasta dishes served in house are still quite good. This evening I ordered a salad and an Italian sausage sub for takeout. When I got home, I found that I had what I assume is an Italian combo sub. It was OK, but not what I ordered or wanted.

Does this look like an Italian sausage sub? A decent Italian combo sub, but not what I ordered.

Right after you walk through Mama T's door, you know it's an Italian deli. Ooo that smell!

This place is choc-full of Italian specialty items, featuring a hot box with pastas and the like, Boar's Head cold cuts, and boxes of bread that all look very fresh.

I ordered a fried eggplant sandwich with roasted reds, mozzarella, and balsamic. Unfortunately, the attendant said they were "out" of balsamic, which seemed pretty crazy to me considering they had almost everything else you could think of, but hey, it happens.

My sandwich was very good, despite the lack of my favorite dressing. The mozzarella was a standout for me, considering it was store-made and tasted very fresh. I'd definitely go back to Mama T's and try one of their more elaborate sandwiches. The menu is very, very enticing. Beware.

Fried eggplant, fresh mozzarella, roasted red peppers on a hard roll

This is probably the best Italian delis at New Windsor. On my way to Newburgh I stoped by to got a sandwich. I got the Mama T. Italian combo and it was very good. It was a good price. Very nice and clean store. I would recommend this to anyone.

When I lived in the neighborhood, I ordered from Mama T's at least twice a week. When I moved to Vegas - I went thru withdrawal! (I ask the owner every time I'm back to open in Very Far West New York) :)
A Vails Gate Bravest is always the first thing I eat when come back to the 845 - I won't sully my palate with anything beforehand. The sandwich is even awesome cold - the last time (3 weeks ago) I had half leftover and ate it the next day and it was still good. (The hard bread mentioned in another review musta been a fluke. Never happened to me.)
If you order their pasta dishes, be prepared to eat leftovers! I had a small Penne Alla Vodka once for three meals!
It is pricey, but SO worth it. Their fresh mozzarella is addicting.... Buttery soft and melts in your mouth.

      Excellent service & food

Nice little pizza / Italian place in Vails gate.

The service was great constantly monitored our table and made sure we had everything we needed. Nice people definetly

The food came out fresh and hot!
Pizza - excellent crust, sauce and cheeses.
      Complimentary garlic knots were great.

So good I went back the following week when I was in the area!

Fantastic Italian deli with very good service. It's usually crowded, a line waiting at lunch time for sure. Order a sandwich and come hungry, since they are huge and divine. I am a big fan of their buffalo wings. I order them for parties every now and then. I ordered them this summer to take to a bbq and they were hot and boxed up for me when I arrived. The blue cheese dressing is thick and chunky. They have a variety of Italian specialties in the store....take a peek at the cheesecake in the case when you arrive and order a slice. Its a rectangle shaped cake...it even looks good, however, its tastes even better!!!

We had a great waitress. The place is small in front. Has a large dining area in the back. I had a calzone which was great my wife had a salad which was very good. If you're there any area stop for a meal

I went to the mama Theresa deli today I ordered a eggplant Parmesan. It was very good but I also ordered a very small slice of cheesecake that came out to be 7 dollars alone. The place is a bit pricey

36 dollars for a single pizza is insane. Food is cold. Nasty delivery guy. Sals is a much better choice.
