About the Business
Authentic Mexican food. Our food is an inspiration that comes from growing up tasting the flavors from our Mexican grandmother’s Mama coco.

We had tons of out of town guests coming for a big birthday weekend. We decided to take them all out to the Guild the night before the big bash and have a group dinner here so we could walk to the show.
Monica was so kind and easy to work with. Everyone loved the food and we had the best time in the back patio.

Possibly the worst Mexican food I've had in a long time.
Beans are canned, guacamole is from a bag (with chopped tomatoes and cilantro added), salsa tasted store bought, and the chips bordered on stale.
I do not understand how this place is so well rated, but I would not recommend it to anyone who appreciates Mexican food.
Service was good though.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 1 - Riley M.Sunnyvale, CA17028May 3, 2024
The food was solid, and the service was great. The hour was a little small. I would go back if there was a big group, but it was pretty dead in there.

Really was not a fan of this place.
First, they kept the door open so as a result, the interior had tons of flies and mosquitos that kept flying around our food.
Second, the service was not great. It took a long time for anyone to come by to take our order or to take our bill.
Third, the food was really disappointing. The guacamole tasted like it came from a grocery stores far too creamy. The bowl for the tostada ensalada was too hard and none of the shrimp were deveined. And agree with other reviews that there was way too much dressing on the salad.
Sadly would not return and would not recommend.Helpful 4Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jul 25, 2023
A small, hole-in-the-wall restaurant that I would definitely recommend! Our entrees took a while to come out (~30 minutes) but we were also a party of 10. Plus, the guacamole & civiche appetizers made up for the time waiting. Order these! They were both so delicious!
Got the Suizas De Mariscos for my entree and have no regrets over choosing the Fish Tacos (which I would try next!). Even though it wasn't that busy at dinner time, we were provided with great service. I would come back.

Takeout order:
8/10 Chicken Fajitas Quesadillas Plate Lunch $18(?) - good serving size, quesadilla was cold and cheese had hardened up but otherwise would've been really good fresh. Fajitas and chicken were yummy and well seasoned. Guac was mediocre but red sauce was good. Rice and beans were standard.

Finally, I have been able to visit Mama Coco's, and it was so worth the wait! My best friend Amanda and I got the fajita quesadilla, and the portion was big enough for the both of us to share.
The service was prompt, and the server was courteous. When our food was ready, the owner personally brought it out. Now that is service!
As for the ambiance, it was relaxed. There were few people there by then again, it was the lunch hour, not the dinner hour.
Would I go again? Yes! Would I recommend Mama Coco's to my friends? Double yes!

Came here late one night after an exhausting work day.
The restaurant was simple, a notch up from a taqueria style (décoration wise) but pretty simple.
There was a family near me, clearly locals, and that was it.
I ordered a guacamole because i was so hungry and couldn't wait. The guac was good but i felt it wad expensive for what it was. The chips were not amazing nor hot.
Then i ordered a poblano cheese enchilada and
It was absolutely fantastic! The sauce was super good it surprised me - it was really well cooked and just for that sauce i would go back anytime! I did feel the price range for the items were on the very high side because those are prices i expect in nicer looking restaurants but the food was excellent.
The waitress was also nice and explained things to me (i had a few questions).

Great food and amazing staff! I accident walked out without some of my Togo order and the staff was nice enough to find me in the parking lot! Definitely coming back to enjoy the margaritas

A gem in Menlo Park! Cute decor, friendly staff and quick service. We ordered some margaritas, calamari to share, tortilla soup, mole, and fish tacos. All delicious, authentic, and can't wait to stop by again next time I visit.
