    I have had numerous occasions, where MakeSpace have showed up consistently and helped with moving my items safely and efficiently. The team did an excellent job and I'm glad I chose them for storage- you should too!

    All right so to follow up on what happens if your items break: this isn't customer services fault but in general I won't recommend using this company because of their pricing model and operations.

    They broke a $150 mirror and paid $39 through claims. Also I stored items for a month and then had them delivered. I had no problem paying for the next 2 months to meet my 3 month commitment, but the charge model is so they deduct the remaining 2 months in one payment as opposed to billing you month by month. For example, this means instead of paying around $150 a month, you will be charged $300 in one month for two months.

    Customer service is doing their best and don't have the easiest job smoothing things over due to the rest of the company's operations, pricing models and policies being unfriendly to customers and more beneficial to makespace.

    Find another service. Don't use makespace.

    So why would you rent, lift, haul, off load, and do it all over when u want your stuff???
    These guys are brilliant!!! They came dropped bins. I packed. Made an appointment THEY packed the bed dressers furniture!!!
    Again, why would u ever do it your self again!!
    The process is super easy. It's all on an app.
    Boom!
    I converted my garage into an apartment for my son. I will NEVER lift a box again!

    The communication with Make Space is excellent. The delivery of items is horrible. Lots of broken items. They only deliver items - don't put them where they go, don't assemble tables or shelves that they took apart. They don't put beds together - just drop it off in the middle of the room. One table was destroyed, lots of chipped furniture.

    To start, they sufficiently notified me of their coming to drop off 15 bins I requested. They were quick in getting to my address, even before the appointed ETA. When they arrived, they were friendly.

    I'm expecting them again in a few days to pick up the filled bins and to move heavy equipment to the storage facility.

    So far, so very good. I think they're efficient and pleasant to work with. Hope to visit their facility in Secaucus soon. I'm excited ! Can't wait to have them back to finish the storage project. They're rates are very reasonable.

    I can't understand how they could be so bad? So much potential and yet they only delivered half of my items then broke several major pieces, the men were nice and skilled but the business model is broken like my furniture! Do not use them until they get the bugs worked out

    They are horrible. They were always late. I had two items missing and they couldn't find them, and they were not even under my account. I asked for compensation but they just Ignored me. Lots of items were broken and with scratches. I really don't recommend it.

    Why have I never done this before?? For both pick-up and drop-off (about 3 months in storage), the teams were incredible efficient and professional.

    I've always been a DIY mover, but this time I was in between apartments and needed help getting everything down from a walk-up. I have never hired movers before ($$$) but I have done Task Rabbits and U-Haul, both of which would have been more expensive in this case.

    Picking up my stuff in Manhattan:
    They packed my smaller boxes/baskets into big cardboard boxes and bins that stacked well. They also wrapped my furniture and boxed my lamp for me, which was a huge help! The only complaint on this end is that they were late, which was inconvenient given that it was a busy move out day. Other than that, it was just a huge help to have a team that saved me time, energy, money and sweat!

    Dropping off my stuff in BK:
    Quick, on time, professional! I felt bad that it's a 4th floor walk-up, but they were cheerful and moved quickly. All my stuff arrived unharmed.

    So far my experience with MakeSpace has been very good. The quote process and figuring out what space I required was fairly easy (my things are being stored today and will let you know if I encounter a price increase). There were a few changes that I needed to be made to my box drop-off and pick-up, which did have a few hiccups. Their customer service reps are not immediately available via phone and require an email to be sent first. When I did get an individual on the phone, my experience was positive. No one hung-up or dismissed me as others in postings have stated.

    MakeSpace is very clear about handling fragile items. I had flexibility to take lamps, valuables and important mementos with me to my next location. That being said - I made sure any dishes were wrapped/protected with paper and bubble wrap. Any tables that I wanted to be protected I wrapped in bubble wrap as well. If you have a fear of something being broken, MakeSpace appears to be more "industrial", which could contribute to the lower prices, and might not be the best option for you.

    When my pick-up arrived, they were extremely careful and worked diligently to have everything done. I did not have anything that wasn't stored in one of their bins or wardrobe boxes aside for large items.

    I will follow-up with storage quality and delivery of items once I have that experience.

    Great experience with MakeSpace. They came during the 2-hour time frame. They called me 15 minutes before their arrival. They brought all of the supplies to wrap up my furniture, and the two bins I asked for. It was a great experience overall.

    I called MakeSpace the day before, and asked if I could add two more large items, which was not a problem at all. Great customer service, and the iPhone app makes the service so easy to use.

    I am downloading this app just so I can leave this review and the stars  are so it gets read my whole experience with make space was a travesty from the beginning before I even started the service I was very clear about my card being charged I was a shored and reassured that I would not be charged long in the whole a week after I placed a reservation my card was charged $120.75 Of course I couldn't called concerned I was very upset I was given the runaround in order to get my funds back but eventually I was refunded with all apologies I assume that was going to be my last experience with make space I recently got a call from representative Faith letting me know that I need to verify my reservation. So I called to clear everything up and to find out why do I still have a reservation and my overzealous 2 1/2-year-olds hung up the phone so she calls back and says to me yes you still have a reservation but I can cancel it if you like and by the way thanks for hanging up on us! so I was definitely very offended as a God-fearing respectable adult mother of three I would never hang up on someone I called back and when I asked to speak to a manager I was directed to her and I let her know I'm extremely upset and very offended that you would even assume that I hung up on you and then for you to say it and be snippy with me before you get off the phone is absolutely deplorable I work in customer service and you never attack or assume someone is being nasty I'm making a formal complaint and I hope that whom ever is reading this review definitely double checks everything and re thinks their decision about getting into business with a company who feels as though they can chastised and discipline their customers
    I spoke to the rep I let him know I was making a very big purchase the next day, I was so concerned I gave him a prepaid card, he stated they needed a card attached to a bank Hi again let him know that I was making a very large purchase and I could go for anything to happen with my money he told me rest a sure it would be absolutely fine he wouldn't charge me anything that was a lie so I'm glad to see that you thought the process was flawless but it is not

    These gentlemen were the best!  This is our second trip with Makespace, and we couldn't be happier with the service and both crews. They helped with taping of boxes, loading them, and hauling stuff downstairs, etc. They were so courteous and professional that we would love to have them back again, any time.     I had to move out of my place for a couple months to do some renovations and I used MakeSpace to store some of my belongings. Making an appointment and estimating cost was super easy. They delivered crates for free and I took my time filling them up. Then they came back and picked them up. I also had some large items and art work that did not fit in the crates. They packed them for me.  Getting my stuff delivered a couple months later was also super easy. Highly recommend.

    I will get right to it. Customer Service always payient, kind and courteous. Never a problem. Appointments always kept and on time. The people picking up or dropping off, very cool, professional, and courteous. Bottom line I will only ever do my storage business with MakeSpace and no one else. This whole experience was great.

    I have moved many times in my career and have used many moving services. All of them were a positive experience. I am speaking of American Vanlines to Pod.
    What I love about MakeSpace is the excellent people they hire.
    They're punctual and friendly. This is my second round of moving with them and nothing in their service has changed.
    It's simply excellent ! You can't beat the prices either. I'm impressed.

    I had makespace for the last year , i even referred a bunch of ppl to the self storage. However, upon delivery of my items i had five major items damaged which was estimated at $2700, which i have to consider a loss.
    Another issue i had was that my stuff was delivered on the 15th of the month so i was told that those days would be prorated. I called and asked when that amount will be going back into my account, i was then told that i was not going to be given back a credit!!!!!!!!!!!

    The worst moving and storage company ever ! I used Make Space to storage all my furniture and personal items . Once  I got my furniture back after 6 month of storage 90% was damaged . Water damage , mold , cracks and bent. They were not reliable at all . When we contact them they asked us to file a claim but that was pointless as once you sign up with them online you have to agree with terms and conditions where they get  out of any problem you may have .
    It was such a nightmare.  No stars  for this company !

    Incredible company. The costumer service on the phone is fantastic. The movers team (Jose & Alvin) arrived at the end of the 2 hour window, but through the App I could track exactly where they were, and I received a text message 15 mins prior to their arrival. They were incredible - took care of the parking in hectic Williamsburg, were so incredibly kind, friendly, polite and efficient. They wrapped our furniture incredibly well and quick, and left the apartment spotless, empty and clean. I am so impressed. I will leave another review upon pick up of the items.

    If I could rate this company/customer service operation with negative stars I would and 1 star is far to generous based on my experience but I want consumers to be aware just how terrible Make Space is!  In theory it's a fantastic concept but in reality their ability to execute a logistics operation is laughable, easily the worst customer experience I've ever had!  And the worst part is my move/storage job should have been super simple, here is a list of the 6 items I needed picked up, stored for 1 month and delivered to a new address:
    1) King size mattress
    2) 1 of 2 box springs
    3) 2 of 2 box springs
    4) standard metal bed frame - which was lost and not delivered on the first scheduled delivery
    5) one wardrobe box
    6) one 24x24x24 inch box

    That was it!  Should have been simple and easy but it was not. In fact it was super frustrating in every way.  Here is my experience:

    a) They were 4+ hours late to pick up my 6 items on Saturday June 30th, 2018.  They were supposed to pick up the 6 items between 10am-noon but showed up at 4:30pm!

    b) They are supposed to catalogue your items via photograph and load them on your personalized website so you can see the items they are storing for you.  It took 3 weeks for 5 of the 6 items to show up as pictures on my personalized Make Space app page!  3 weeks for a photograph to appear on a Web app. Is this really a technological logistical customer service company?  Seriously, 3 weeks!  

    c) They were over 1 hour later than the 2 hour window they provided for the delivery time!

    d) Of the 6 items they were suppose to deliver 1 item was not delivered with the other 5!  A basic metal bed frame went missing. They didn't even have a clear picture of the item and it took 3 additional days for Make Space to locate the missing bed frame.

    e) When I called customer service to report the missing bed frame I got a recorded message at 1:15pm EST on Tuesday July 24, 2018 telling me to call back during normal business hours!  The driver and delivery guys won't call anyone for you and will tell you to call a Make Space customer service representative.  The recorded message states their customer service working hours are 9am-7pm EST Monday to Friday and to call back during working hours!!!  Can't make it up!  1:15pm on a Tuesday falls into that 9am-7pm Monday to Friday doesnt it?  I had to call over 10 times to finally be able to just leave a message for them to call me back.

    f) When they finally located the missing bed frame (took 3 days) and tried to deliver it to me it was sent to the wrong address!!!  So I had to wait another hour for the driver to get to the correct address.  My address did not change, they just once again messed up and entered an incorrect address.  

    As I mentioned to begin with the concept of Make Space is brilliant however in reality it is a very poorly run operation and extremely frustrating to deal with.  Time is money and that makes this joke of an operation far to expensive to use. Do yourself a favor and choose a more reputable moving/storage company.

    From the first phone call to obtain a quote, through pickup and storage of our household goods, MakeSpace has been a godsend! We were using Public Storage, a local self-storage company for a few months, and to say our experience with them was a nightmare - would be the understatement of the year. We were being charged $176 for a 10x10 unit, and our rent just increased to $201 after 5 months; not to mention their customer service was just horrible... but this review isn't about Public Storage, it's about our storage savior, MakeSpace.

    My first interaction with MakeSpace was with Camilla. She was just wonderful to work with, so upbeat, friendly, and most importantly - knowledgeable. She addressed all my questions and concerns without missing a beat, and when I emailed MakeSpace with a few extra questions that I hadn't  thought of during the initial consultation, she promptly called me back with answers. For the number of household goods we needed to be stored, we were given a quote of $135 a month, saving $41 a month AND I was assured that my rate will never ever go up.

    Then on the day of the delivery, the MakeSpace team arrived early (after checking in with us of course), and they carefully wrapped, labeled, and packed all of our goods from the old storage unit into their truck - we didn't have to lift a finger. Not only that, but they take photos of our items, and their app makes viewing our goods and re-delivery extraordinarily simple.

    If you are in Los Angeles (or any other major metro area that MakeSpace services), and are using self-storage, take my advice and ditch them ASAP. MakeSpace is the way to go.
