About the Business
Mae's hand grinds their hamburger, hand makes their various sausages and smoked meats! We hand cut our chicken fries and custom process in the meat market! We make our own spices and smoke several kinds of jerky! We are honored to be featured on "The Texas Bucket List" and was voted one of the top 5 burgers in the state of Texas by the Bucket List! We are 1 minute off I-20 directly behind Dollar General. Watch for billboard on Dollar General's Parking Lot and it will direct you to us!

Flew into town to get fuel for the plane. Brody at the FBO recommended Mae's Meat Market for lunch. Borrowed the crew care and found this hidden gem off the main drag on a potholed stone road. Walked into the store and it was jumping with people. Ordered 2 turkey wraps with chips. I liked the Mae's Meat Market company tee shirts.. it says Mae's Meat Market on the top of the back with PETA written under that with People Eating Tasty Animals!

Food was great and the butchers were helpful with deciding what meat to get. Portions not as big as expected but I mightve just been that hungry.

We stopped here for lunch on our drive to New Mexico from DFW and man was it wonderful! Only 5 minutes off highway. Picnic tables in the middle of a meat market with a really cute atmosphere, they take their meat fresh from the market to make your meal and also, sell fresh milk and bread as well.
The staff was very attentive and kind! Very texas feel. I had the Maverick burger and it was quite honestly the best burger I've ever ate in my life! I did add green chilies on this burger...and my husband also loved the funky chicken sandwich, it was so tasty! We will be coming here on every drive. Highly recommend!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jul 18, 2023
When I come to Eastland for work, this is one of my go to spots for lunch the chicken fried steak, the sweet tea, the lemonade, the Texas toast the rolls, the salad bar every bit of this place is magnificent. The staff is very friendly service was right on time as always food is hot and has plenty of flavor located inside of a meat market at the back. This place is always packed and is truly a local favorite if you are local congratulations you have a treat here if you are visiting or passing through please make sure you stop for lunch well worth it.

Drop in for an a-mae-zing "down home" experience. Our party of four ordered catfish, cole slaw, chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, a bacon cheeseburger, and a grilled cheese). All food was excellent. The place was very busy but we were seated right away, checked on frequently, and served quickly. Service was outstanding. Interior had a fun "hole in the wall" vibe.

first time trying out Mae's. Had the chicken fried steak as the quintessential barometer to judge against all my other places. Fresh cut pounded tender meat - no pre-cut frozen patties here. Good crust and flavor. Would put it in my top ten for CFS.

We discovered Mae's on yelp, and it was definitely a slice of local food. We arrive shortly before closing time and were still warmly welcomed. The food arrived quickly, and was delicious. Highly recommend.

Ordered the catfish AYCE. The fish was good but waitress never asked if I wanted more. Salad bar was ok. Wife had a pastrami sandwich she said it was lunchmeat! It's the only restaurant by the hotel we stayed at. People were polite but the young girls waitressing not very experienced.

The food is A-Mae-zing! I haven't tried anything here that I don't love. They have a wonderful salad bar and I love their chocolate pie!
