Lynn's Custom Meats & Catering

For starters I was recommended through quite a few people to use Lynn's for catering my wedding. So after shopping around and price comparison we settled with Lynn's. We would have been better off with going elsewhere with how we were treated the day of my wedding.

When we initially met with her I expressed to her a few times how myself and a few members of my family have a severe allergy to pineapple. And what was in the fruit salad? Exactly what we couldn't have. And it's not like a canned fruit salad mix. They have to cut the fruit and prepare it themselves.

Secondly we requested that they set the food up after the ceremony and then leave. As we would be taking the food home with us at the end of the evening and at any wedding people want to snack on the food throughout the evening. She was there for maybe an hour. Which was not enough time for all of my guest to eat. I still had people showing up for the reception expecting a dinner and she packed everything and left. SHE WAS THERE FOR AN HOUR. She packed up and left without saying anything to myself or my husband. I didn't know she left until the venue planner came up to me to let me know. All there was afterwards were the meat and cheese trays.

I had many of my guests leave after only being there for a few minutes because they did not get a chance to enjoy the food. It was very upsetting and makes not only myself look bad but it reflects poorly on this business as well.

We were also told that we could pick up the rest of our food that following Monday. 2 days after our wedding. The total for the food was close to $3,000. If we had known this was the service we were going to receive we would have gone with Hog Wild. Yes more pricey but better customer service and customer care.

Always nice to find a good local meat market. Wide selection of bratwurst and other sausages, plus good meat, cheese, and salad choices. Will definitely be stocking up on more of their products.

We had Lynn's cater our wedding and we along with all of our guests raved about the food!! The cheesy hashbrowns were outstanding and the pulled pork and baked chicken were top notch. Everyone went up for seconds!! So good! Thank you!

Lynn is incredible! We called for a catering event two weeks before the wedding (we thought we were going to cook for 60 people, crazy I know.) and Lynn was able to help more that we ever thought. She provided all of the food, condiments and even had it delivered to our ceremony which was at my cabin about 45 minutes away. She was patient with us and the food was delicious. Everyone at the wedding commented on how delicious the food was, ESPECIALLY the mashed potatoes. She provided all of this for an incredibly reasonable price.

While we were meeting with Lynn we also enjoyed lunch at her deli and bought meat for the weekend before and for our grooms dinner.
I cannot recommend Lynn and her store brought. Everything was wonderful!

We stopped in for sandwiches last week, only the second time we'd been there. Fast service, great sandwiches that are very reasonably priced. We plan to return to buy brats!

Lynn's is amazing! My only regret is not stopping here sooner this past year (and the year before, I didn't even know about it). I wish we hadn't eaten prior to visiting, as we arrived to find hot-and-ready grilled items on sale for lunch. Arghhh.... I just couldn't find room in my belly to try anything, but the brats smelled a-m-a-z-i-n-g!

Upon entering, you'll notice a deli counter, and then refrigerators full of cheeses, meats, and other various goodies that'll make your mouth water. Throughout the store, you'll find spreadable cheeses, curds, cheese bricks, jerky, brats, sausages, fresh cut meats, jars of pickled products, pastas, and sauces.... your heart will pitter-patter with delight (or in fear of carotid artery disease) but however you look at it, you'll want this food. You NEED this food.

We stopped here on the last full day before our departure back to the 630, so we could only purchase non-perishable items, but we did manage to snag a small container of spicy crab dip, which was incredible to say the least.

I look forward to returning next summer to purchase some brats for grilling back at the cabin. The prices are fair, great selection, and the employees are extremely friendly. I highly recommend Lynn's if you're in the area!

Lynn catered an event for about 50 people and I could not ask for a better experience. She made sure everything was covered and she made a beautiful display. The guests at the event raved about the food. Have always gone to Lynn's for everyday meat selections, but now am highly impressed with the "and catering" part of her business. I highly recommend.

We stopped by here for some steaks to grill on vacation and were surprised by the great selection. Not only did we get several steaks that all turned out great, we also left with several brats that were delicious, beef sticks (again, great), and even got some treats for the dogs.

They had a lot of different offerings including frozen exotic meats as well as some Wisconsin cheese. Head here if you are looking for some great meat at fair prices.

Called to order a meat and cheese platter six days before an event. Phone was answered by what sounded like some clueless kid, who eventually transferred me to "Lynn", who apparently had no interest in our business, because she immediately went into a snarky tirade complaining about already having two weddings to cater for next weekend and she was shutting the kitchen down for the rest of the week. Not interested in hearing any more about her problems, I ended up saying ok whatever, and hung up. It wasn't like we were asking for a last minute, catered 7 course dinner for 300 people- it was a platter of cold cuts we wanted to come in and pick up-and with a whole week's notice. Wow.

Service has never exactly been outstanding here over the years, but this time was enough for me to post a negative review. Too bad, because this place is the only meat market in Hayward, the foods they have are quality, and it it has potential to be a nice little shop.

Lynn- so sorry for inconveniencing you with my phone call trying to shop small and keep it local. Instead, we went to Marketplace- where our dollars go to a large Minnesota corporation. But at least they are friendly at Marketplace- and they are willing to serve their customers!
