I am a rescuer that took a hospice as my foster. Her family surrendered her to animal control 2 1/2 weeks ago. She's a senior and in terrible shape. Huge masses all over her body. She didn't deserve to die at animal control. I chose to bring her into my home, to give her a better ending to her life. Her pain was managed well... until today. Today we decided it was time. Dr. Singh poked and prodded her repeatedly, even when I asked him not to. He refused to euthanize her until he felt satisfied it was warranted. He was going to be the decision maker for euthanasia, not me, and not my foster or how she appeared to feel. This was all about him. He cried in the corner of the room when I continued to tell him she was scared and he didn't need to mess with her. Going on and on about different cultures and how he already had to euthanize two dogs today. He wanted to squeeze, poke, and prod every one of her painful masses, he opened her mouth twice to examine, and actually pried apart her eyelids to look at her eyeballs. I already had a full vet exam and records with me. None of this was normal or acceptable. He treats rescues like these are our personal dogs that we've neglected, even though I've clearly explained our foster families come in with dogs we've saved from animal control. We are a licensed rescue and a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. He was not kind, and he wasn't gentle with my hospice girl. He made what was supposed to be a calm and relaxing end of life...a nightmare. Our rescue will never use their services again. And I will be making sure people know about this. I ended up leaving with my foster dog and sobbing in the parking lot. I went to do something that I was already upset about, then she was put through all his nonsense, and we have to go somewhere else tomorrow now. 1 dog with 2 euthanasia dates. Insane. When he pried her eyelids open, that was the final straw. He refused to respect my wishes and actually asked me to move away from her so he could examine her even more. No! I came here to be by her side while she was put down, I'm not leaving her side. He would only euthanize if he had gotten to do some insane exam that he doesn't even do for wellness visits. He would rather have a dog suffer in pain than euthanize them. Because it's all about him and his feelings. He cried. Literally cried in a corner, like a child, when I said I was going to leave with my dog if he didn't stop trying to mess with her. Examining eyeballs must be new euthanasia protocol I'm not aware of. I am disgusted by this man. What he did today was disturbing on so many levels. I've added pictures of this dog that he felt the need to make sure I wasn't euthanizing unjustly. Pretty sure the pics are clear. Also, I've added a veterinary report from when she was surrendered at animal control. Their suggestion was immediate euthanasia or hospice, due to her condition. None of this was good enough for Dr. Singh. I've told this story many times now and everyone is baffled. They immediately ask what clinic so they never go there. There is no excuse for this man's behavior today. Dr. Singh, get out of the veterinary field. You should not be working with animals. I mean that wholeheartedly. What you did today, was sickening.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Xuxu A.Richmond, CA065Aug 20, 2021Updated review
The doctor here is very rude and unprofessional. All he wants is your money, don't go this place, you will regret!!!
Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Jul 27, 2021Previous reviewI would never ever go to this place again. I found my cat got tapeworm, so took her to this place, they charged me $220 to deworm. I could've give this simple treatment in store myself.
Without noticing they overcharged, I made an appointment for my dog and cat for rabies vaccine, this time they wanted to charge me $230 !!!!! With all the unnecessary 'EXAM' and 'FIRST TIME VISITING fee' !!!
Don't waste your money, go for somewhere else!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - Cheryl W.Chicago, IL04Sep 15, 2021
My vet retired so I was was looking for a new vet. My dog's groomer reported that she suspected my dog (an unspayed rescue) had pyometra.
I had to scramble to find a vet. Luv-n-Care is near my house so I called there. They were able to perform emergency surgery on my dog the next day!
My dog is fine now.
I brought my cat there for a skin condition diagnosed by a different vet as ring worm. I had been struggling for several years with giving this cat medicated baths. Dr Singh knew at a glance that it was not ring worm & what it actually was. Cat was treated with antibiotics & skin is completely clear.
I brought my second cat in for goop in eyes & scratching ears. Dr Bali treated her & she is better than she has ever been.
These vets are wonderful, caring, professional, knowledgeble, and affordable.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Kat M.Henderson, NV14Nov 4, 2020
I highly recommend to never bring your pet here!! Unless you want improper care and pay WAY out of pocket for zero correct treatment!
I brought my cat in because he was experiencing difficulties urinating. Brought him right away and came here because of the "good" reviews. He was seen, zero blockage, and sent home treated as an UTI. $300 down. He got "better", but in all reality it was just a mask to cover it until it came back and came back worse. Not even a month later, rushing him back (mind you, difficulties urinating in cats is life threatening in 2-3 days if not treated!) and the first time they got a urine sample, it came back crystals but was never treated as such. I told the vet that it was crystals and he tried ARGUING with me that it wasn't even though they took the sample... said they would treat it as crystals, but actually never did (we ended up rushing him to an animal hospital 2 1/2 weeks later). Another $350 down the drain, for improper treatment. My cat is now in the hospital for the 3rd day in a row for a severe blockage, infection, and crystals - which was stated by Luv n' Care that he had zero blockage... negligence!! My cat could have died from a rupture or a heart attack due to the lack of professionalism, improper care, and ripping people off left and right.
DO NOT BRING YOUR FUR BABIES HERE!!!!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jul 13, 2019First to Review
This is a clean new office with nice staff but for me what they did was unacceptable! I liked my old vet but he's much further since I moved. I saw the dental cleaning special for $189 so I scheduled one for my dog. I brought Kirby in for a checkup and blood sample before they could do the procedure. We had to wait for the blood test so I scheduled another day for the dental cleaning. Blood test confirmed everything was ok so I then brought Kirby in for the dental cleaning. When dropping Kirby off, I asked if I could prepay the remaining balance. The front desk (Amy) mentioned to wait since there are cases when teeth need to be pulled and that is when I said ok but please call me BEFORE doing anything extra other than a dental cleaning. I get called later in the day that the procedure was done and the doctor pulled out 3 teeth and the total bill was $377. In a lot of ways I treat my dog like my own child. Can you imagine bringing your child into a dentist for regular teeth cleaning and later finding out 3 teeth were pulled without you knowing? That is how I felt. Also since the total bill was double the amount I originally planned, how were they to know I could afford double the amount? I specifically asked to be called BEFORE anything extra was performed on my Kirby! But even if I didn't ask to be called beforehand, isn't it common professional courtesy to call the client if anything extra is needed to make sure to explain the situation, talk about options and additional costs? The doctor did explain to me afterwards Kirby had gum disease near his back molars but it was still too late. Not sure if I would've done this but if I was told beforehand, I maybe would've went to my old vet for a second opinion. Needless to say I will go back to my old vet even though he's much further distance until I find another good reliable and professional practice.

So sweet and kind! They were efficient and informative! We are new to the area so the vet explained all the issues we could run into and prevention! We will definitely be back!

I have 3 dogs, and finding a caring vet, at fair pricing is not always easy. I've been a dog and cat owner all my life, and usually there are trade offs. Ok care, ok pricing, or services unneeded. Hands down, this place osbthe best. Knowledgeable vets, nice staff, and I highly recommend to everyone I know.

Dr. Kumar, Dr. Sunny, Amy, Sandy, & Chris have all become a part of my family after experiencing the most tragic experience involving my beloved shih tzu, Sage. I went to the clinic for a second opinion after not getting answers from Sage's last doctor and VCA. It may have been the worst results to receive from the clinic but I had closure. I also had an idea of what to do moving forward when nothing humanly possible could be performed or any amount of money could have saved him. Staff members were very sensitive and kind, and accepted my requests to have a smooth send off for my baby the way I know he would have preferred in the most professional, classy manner. Both doctors were available by phone and checked up on me to make sure we were okay, and even after Sage crossed the rainbow bridge, which showed they cared about my baby and his family. Although our baby has transitioned, this clinic is our preferred clinic for Sage's cousins, and we feel comfortable working with them to tend to their needs.
As for the review criticizing the clinic over costs, I am shocked because they are cost effective (offering various discounts for senior citizens, veterans, or other services). From my experience with Sage, we were also told of the possibility of teeth removal given he was a senior at another clinic. The thing with dental procedures they are known to be $$$ anywhere you go because the pet is under anesthesia and it is a long procedure. At Sage's old doctor, a low cost facility, we spent $500ish bucks with teeth pulled and were notified after the procedure. If teeth need to be removed, they need to do it right away to avoid infection, which is something Sage had. It is usually best to not do many dental procedures for a pet unless they really need it because of anesthesia. If an owner wants to complain about costs then maybe do not get a dog/cat.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Rita J.Naperville, IL03Aug 12, 2019
