I should have looked at the rating on Yelp before hiring this company. Big mistake. Repairman was late. Shows up to fix my ice maker in my fridge. Looks at it for 2 mins and says it's going to be 400+ dollars to fix. I told him that seemed quite expensive and asked him to explain why. He couldn't. I was charged initially 65 does(which i was never in formed of)for a total of 5 mins. After agreeing to pay 45 because i was upset. I told them i would not be choosing their company.
Nail in the coffin- costumer service associate called me after the repair man had left to apologize and then began to argue with me about how it was my fault that this deal went badly. I was flabbergasted.
My day was wasted waiting for this company to arrive and I'm out 45 bucks. This single Mom needs every dollar she can get.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Rick B.Escondido, CA1357Feb 24, 2024
Saturday morning and the dryer is not heating. Called LR Appliance thinking a high dollar fix for a new heating element. Alex showed up on time, diagnosed the situation as a defective wire (bad repair job by another company) and promptly fixed the problem. Also received a $25.00 labor discount on a fair price. This should be your go-to company for appliance repairs. 5 stars.

My fridge was not keeping cold. I kept chalking the problem up to the heat and leaving the door open.
It wasn't until the milk I had bought earlier that morning was curdled and I was puking in the bathroom that I acknowledged there was a problem. I called the manufacturer, they said couldn't get out until a week from then. I said forget it. Low rate appliance was there that day . They fixed my fridge within a couple of hours. The technician even took the food out of the fridge so he could do the repair. I think he felt sorry for me as I was still puking. I would recommend them!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Rich K.Encinitas, CA1735Oct 30, 2022
Avoid at all costs. Expensive. None responsive customer service. Job done incorrectly. Hostile/Abrasive if you end up getting them on the phone.

I did not make it passed a phone call with them. Terrible customer service and support to the public.
The woman on the phone today, 12/14/2021, had an unpleasant attitude and no patience. She wanted to rush me off the phone like I did not call to support their business. I won't be using this company's services.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Stephen S.SoMa, San Francisco, CA13Sep 1, 2022

I have used this company in the past and, while expensive, repairs were satisfactory. I could ignore the general surliness of the technicians.
This time, I was astounded.
The door on my subzero refrigerator was not sealing well and we suspected the gasket might need replacing. $120 service call. OK.
Technician Steve arrives. Opens the door. Shuts the door. Says if I can repair on this call it will be $375 total. If not, it probably needs hinges, blah, blah, blah $800-$1000. Bite the bullet, we agreed to the possible $375 but not without serious consideration.
He opens the door, moves a water pitcher. Closes the door and says problem fixed $375. Astounding. After some discussion, lowers the price to to$275, so a mere $155 for moving the water pitcher. I suspect we still have a problem since the motor is constantly running, but he claimed to do anything else would involve those $800 hinges.
I write the check, he leaves without a word.
Woman in the office whined that it was a long way to our house so had to charge more than the already expensive $120 service charge. Refunded an additional $50. They know they're scammers at the new low price of$105 to move the water pitcher.
Wish I'd read all these other reviews first. Now wondering if I was upsold on other repairs.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Martin A.San Diego, CA01Feb 11, 2023
This is the worst place to call to work on your appliance they are not professional and overcharge. I called in to replace my dryer belt and they put a wrong belt and that cause a motor pole damage, when I called them back they didn't took the responsibility for the damage and I never get my refund back..

Avoid using this company - they over charge. We called them to check our fridge because water was accumulating at the bottom. It turned out to be a plugged drain hole. Technician used compressed air to clear the plugged hole. It took about 30 second and he charged us $336 for this service. I don't know what to call it except gouging.

Short Summary: DO NOT HIRE! THEY ARE HERE TO RIPP YOU OFF. Very bad customer service! If you still hire them, you have been warned!
FULL STORY:
I called to have a technician come to my house to replace the pistons on my washing machine. In a timely manner a technician came. I informed him that the washing machine when on would jump and rattle all over the place. More likely than not it required new pistons. He ran the washing machine on "test mode" (I was not aware my simple washing machine had a test mode). After 10 minutes he stopped. The technician tells me "you are going to need a bracket system installed in the upper part of the machine. That will help control the movement. I look back at him in a blank stare as I could not believe what I am hearing. I asked him "why is it required to reinstall additional hardware if it not come with it?! He looks back at me with the same blank stare and reiterates "you need a bracket system. It will be $278.00" My mouth dropped. At this rate I should just purchase a new washer.
Reluctantly I paid. I wish I had not paid him for his 10 minutes and extremely blasé attitude. But rather than call the police to have him removed and have Low Rates Appliance Repair Inc - take me to court for $120.00. Yes $120.00 for a sorry excuse of an assessment. I did the right thing and paid.
I made an attempt to call Low Appliance Repair Inc. I called about 7 times. Hung up on twice as I was put on hold. Finally I spoke to a female receptionist who was extremely rude. Before I could inform her on what had happened she interrupted me with "yeah the price is the price. What you wanted a free visit?! So what, you call to complain?" I told her "ma'am can I speak? You haven't heard what I have to say." She again interrupting with "what?! You don't like the way I speak? Huh?" After her defensive tirade of about 5 minutes in between interruptions I was able to tell her what had happened. Her response: "yeah he did the right thing! Your washer needs a bracket!" You going to pay? If you do the technician will have to order parts and return another day. [The website states that "the trucks are fully stocked and can fix all repairs - day of."]
LOW RATES APPLIANCE REPAIR INC IS OUT TO RIPP OFF CONSUMERS. BY OVERCHARGING FOR THINGS THEY DON'T NEED! NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. DO NOT HIRE!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Christopher M.San Diego, CA11Mar 20, 2020
Beware... Paid $278 for fan motor easily obtainable from Amazon for $60.
Paid $500+ for the labor to remove and replace fan motor, which took less than one hour. Take my advise, beware of this vendor..plenty of other options available. -Chris.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0
