NEEDS TO ELEVATE THOSE INGREDIENTS AND FLAVOR PROFILES!
This little place was very difficult to find and with our initial search it was under a different name. When we finally found it, we noticed that it had a different name and a "Now Open" sign out front as if it had been closed for re-branding or remodel.
When we go inside, we are immediately greeted and seated at a booth. I don't recommend the booth because you can feel every movement made by the person on the other side and this can be very distracting.
The menu is large but the choices are limited. Confused? You basically have a choice of a limited number of ingredients just used in a variety of ways so that it looks like more. The food is very basic and they do not use all white meat chicken in their dishes nor do they offer a variety of fresh vegetables for their quesadiallas.
I have learned that it is always important to distinguish between vegetarian and vegetable when ordering Mexican dishes because one is a high carb bomb stuffed with beans and rice and the other one is light and delicious with vegetables and cheese only. I am excited to know that they have spinach and fresh mushrooms available so I order a vegetable quesadilla with a side of beans and rice. My husband orders a burrito and enchilada with beans and rice.
I really liked my quesadilla but found the beans and rice to be lacking in flavor. However, I did appreciate them not being heavy or oily and I do prefer lightly seasoned to over seasoned. Their chips are a cut above because they are very thin and served hot. Delicious!
****This place is cute and has some potential especially if they use higher quality ingredients and took time to season more with authentic flavors. I am from the land of char and I love authentic restaurants that prepare their proteins and veggies over an open grill and add a nice char for extra flavor.
****Decor was a bit dated and the place was lacking in ambiance. Definitely not okay for date night.
****Our waitress was very nice and provided great customer service.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - David I.Montgomery, AL613Feb 14, 2019
Go to any other Mexican restaurant in Montgomery. The nicest things I can say is that the food didn't make me sick and the server wasn't mean. There is no way I would return.
This place is now called Fiesta Mexicans.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Red S.Box Springs, GA31214Mar 24, 2018
Staff unconcerned about customer. Sat at the bar on cell phone nearly the whole time. The chips are paper thin, the salsa is tasteless. I was given two menus and was told they were the same, so I'm not sure why I needed two. I ordered the combination platter enchiladas which says one of each kind on the menu, yet the waitress tried to tell me 'no, beef or chicken. '...
The entree was horribly bland and without taste. There were no sauces on the table to add any kind of flavor. The place appeared to be clean..but that's probably because nobody comes here. Lack of customer care combined with horrible, bland food is a no win for me. I decided to try this place because of the location and that many of the businesses in this locale tend to be good. This is not one of them though. I hope this review helps someone else avoid disappointment.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Brannon W.Montgomery, AL29121Mar 26, 2018
85 food score. And each of the three times i came for lunch i was basically invisible. Had to get up to ask for a napkin this time, more drink before. Server never checks in on me. Never gave me ticket either. Food just really isn't worth the cost of admission. Chicken was dry and overcooked. After paying, i got no "thanks for coming etc." each time i came. Will not go again.

They had the nastiest Mexican food we have ever had in our entire lives. Do NOT eat there! Bland. Dry. We are pretty sure all the meat was ruined. Steak tasted like burnt chicken liver.
We will never go back. Just praying no one gets food poisoning.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Rusty R.Elgin, SC2063316Aug 27, 2016First to Review
The food is pretty good comparable to other Mexican food in this area. The chips are fresh and actually really good. They have draft beer, which is also a bonus. I downgraded my rating from 4 stars to 3 because of the margarita. The margarita was sickeningly sweet and it looked and tasted like lime kool aid without a hint of tequila. The bartender wanted to fix it for me, but I was already gun shy, so I sent it back and asked for a beer instead. If this place could get their margarita recipe right, it would be a favorite.

Dropped by for some lunch on a Saturday with my family. Great food and great service!! We definitely recommend! I Had the MASSIVE 3 Amigos burrito and my wife had the steak fajita quesadilla... both were on point! We'll be back!

Found this place by accident, we were visiting family in pike road and were headed to Red Robin. The Chips were some the best we have ever had, light, fresh and tasty. The salsa gets a 4 out of 5 because i like a little more heat but the cheese dip gets a 5 plus, real cheesy not watered down like some places. I got the beef Quesadilla which was loaded with beef and cheese and my wife got the chilie poblano with chicken added. It was the best entree I believe we have ever had. Great service and price's were excellent.

Servers were very friendly and helpful. Chips were very fresh--almost too hot to touch--and salsa great. After that it went downhill. Worst of all was the shrimp--the taste was barely recognizable as shrimp; they were obviously cooked in a fryer of stale oil used to fry fish for the past month. I was pleased to be able to substitute tamales in my dinner order, but they were so dry and hard that I literally could not swallow them without a drink of water. Chicken enchiladas were very good.

My family just moved to the area 2 weeks ago from Texas and have been hesitant to try the Mexican food, excepting the salsa everything here was on point! I got 3 tacos al pastor that weren't the best I've ever had but sure we're tasty! I'm giving such a high review for excellent service, great food and affordable prices. Will definitely be back sooner than later
