This unit of the Longhorn chain has been in Asheville for years, but I didn't even know it was there, due to its hidden location on a hill above the west side of Tunnel Road.

However, I went here for lunch recently for a small club meeting. It's about what you'd expect from a restaurant company, Darden, that also owns Olive Garden, Bahama Breeze, Cheddar's and places of that sort. (Darden's also owns a couple of upscale chains, such as Capital Grille.)

It seems pretty well run. It's clean. Service was prompt.

I had an inexpensive lunch special -- a small cheeseburger (one-third pound, but it looks almost like a slider) and a salad combo, complete with those packaged croutons, for $7.95. It was okay. Nothing you'd go back for, but not bad. I also had a local draft IPA, which I think was $3.95. Ice cold, as promised.

The waitperson kept all the checks straight, and for a group meeting that's a good thing.

One more thing about the location: The short service road the restaurant is on, Restaurant Court, doesn't have a stop light on Tunnel Road. So, at busy times, you may decide to turn right (toward Asheville Mall) rather than try to turn left across several lanes of traffic.

Our waitress was absolutely amazing. She made recommendations, that made our experience even better. If you're coming to Asheville, come on in. Jenny will set you up and make your evening better with her smile and professional demeanor.

Service was fast and friendly. We were seated quickly.

The strawberry lemonaide was flavorful without being too sweet. The steaks were cooked to order, and the sides were yummy.

I had the parmesan chicken, which is always a good break from the steak routine. The Mexican grilled corn on the Cobb was seasoned and coated perfectly.

The food was amazing! Asia our server was so sweet and awesome taking care of us! I give her 5 stars as well as the food quality but as you enter the facility and you are greeted by Emily who was hateful and disrespectful not once but multiple times. This starts the experience off poorly. The manager who was up there was equally as RUDE. Thanks Asia for being amazing!!!

I always enjoy this longhorn steakhouse, and I am a regular customer. The food is dependably well prepared, and the service is consistently friendly and responsive. Today I had the enjoyable experience of being served by Cheyenne. I received excellent service myself, but I couldn't help but notice the positive exchanges she had with other customers and coworkers. She brought next level service and care without being overt or too familiar. I'd like to congratulate longhorn on an excellent hire. A great customer service experience is a hard bar to meet these days, yet you continue to provide a positive, wholesome experience. Thank you.

My first visit to any Longhorn Steakhouse and there are two in the area where I live in Georgia. My grandson and I were vacationing in Asheville, NC for Labor Day weekend. Kevin, our waiter was so kind and helpful, and made the dining experience very pleasant. Looking forward to visiting my local Longhorn Steakhouse when I return.

I went to Longhorn with my mom and dad @4:30 October 28th. The restaurant was very busy but we were luckily seated without waiting. A gentleman served us and I have to say was the best service I've gotten at a restaurant in I don't know when. He was so attentive even though he was busy with so many tables. The food was delicious. All 3 of our steaks were cooked just how we asked for them. Salad was so fresh! I also love the ambiance and the huge steak knives. The most exceptional part though was our server. Thank you!

My spouse, sister, her husband and I went there for dinner about 5:30. It was not busy, maybe 1/2 the restaurant was full. We ordered wine and beer, waters and an appetizer.
We received the waters right away. The appetizer came 10 minutes later. My brother-in-law got up several times to find our waitstaff and she kept telling us they're behind.
We waited 30 minutes total, appetizer gone, we told a manager don't bother and we were leaving, get the check. He came back with the beer and wine, but at this point we
Just wanted to leave. That manager was unapologetic. He said , okay bye bye, matter-of-factly. Bad service at a half full restaurant has no business being opened.
Their customer service was the only and worst of one of our favorite chain eateries.

      My husband and I travel
A lot & eat out often. I'm not one to comment or complain ever , we have eaten at this Long Horn Location many times, but last night brought me here to comment . It was an hour before they closed, maybe 7 parties sitting down, we walk in and there's no one to great us for 15 min , we finally sit down a waitress walks order quickly takes our order , my husband orders a chicken sandwich and I ordered a French onion soup. The soup was ice cold , you could still see the cheese square shape. It would have been no big deal but our waitress is MIA , doesn't return for 15-20 min . Then all the wait staff is yelling across the room to each other while some staff was shadow boxing, I felt as if I was in a HS cafeteria! Absolutely the worse experience!!!
