Established in 1961. LBAH started as a single doctors practice working with dogs and cats and exotic animals in 1961. It 1989 it was taken over by two young doctors that put extraordinary time and effort into building it into a 7 doctor practice open daily until midnight. Our doctors and staff care about what they do, and it shows in their work and attitude.

Dr. Ridgeway and his staff are the most compassionate, professional and caring people you will ever find. I have grown up from birth working around dogs and have worked with many veterinarians throughout my life. So this high praise is well earned.
I had to say goodbye to our two labrador's of over 13 years this past Monday. Dr. Ridgeway and his staff accommodated us with what can only be called the most profound act of kindness during one of the most soul crushing moments you can experience.
You can trust your pet to people who care this deeply at the end of life and know the balance between quality and quantity of life. Our family is forever in their debt for providing us with the privacy to show our emotions as we said our hardest goodbye to our precious members of our family.Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dan S.New Orleans, LA3128Jun 5, 2024
My dog received the lowest level of care possible. The "doctor" barely looked at my dog and didn't even touch him. They didn't even take his temperature. Doctor glanced in our direction and diagnosed (incorrectly) my dog while staring at the wall- didn't even look at us or listen, then prescribed medications (incorrectly) and sent us on our way.
We ended up in another ER two days later (after I called LBAH and gave them the opportunity to try again...)
This was my favorite vet years ago. But now I will never return.
Money wasted and I would never trust them with my dog. You shouldn't either.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Ellie Q.Long Beach, CA071Apr 13, 2024
I have previously taken my Rabbits here and have always appreciated the staff and Vets.
Recently, I took over a neighbor's cat that had a gaping wound, presumably from another animal biting her outside. I brought her in to LBAH and Dr. Linn and the nurses were very knowledgeable & awesome with her. The entire staff at the front desk (in person and on the phone) were also friendly, nice and helpful. The nurses on both of my visits were incredibly helpful and I appreciate their advice (Lina and another gal I unfortunately didn't get her name-super nice). I really appreciated Lina's personal recommendation on going with plan b of what the vet recommended for treatment options especially since the cat is technically not mine. It was much more reasonable as fas as cost and my personal time. All worked out well and the cat has healed wonderfully. *Manuka honey really does do wonders! The plastic e cone was not favorable, but I ordered another soft collar that kept the cat from biting and licking her wound. Thank you LBAH! I highly recommend them for bunnies and cats!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nancy W.Los Angeles, CA132126Jul 6, 2024
Dr Ridgeway is absolutely wonderful. This is the ONLY vet that I will be taking my kitties. The wait was short, he addressed my concerns quickly and was wonderful with Catrick Swayze and Ziggy Stardust the prices are very reasonable and the staff was super friendly and helpful.
If you are looking for a vet, look no further, because this is the best around. Thank you all so much!

The staff is excellent with wildlife.
We found a baby crow on the ground next to our condo in an area heavily traveled by cats. We could not get it back up to the nest so we set up a nest on our 2nd floor balcony and provided care. After 5 weeks, it was spending 1/3 of the time flying around our complex. One day we found the crow in the bushes, with what appeared to be a broken wing. The staff did a great job and the price was very reasonable. no broken wing!!!

If you want to spend money and have your pet suffer a slow death then go here. All they care about is money. They give you mixed diagnosis and have the audacity to welcome you back. DON'T GO HERE!!!
Again!!! DON'T TAKE YOUR PET HERE!!! They don't have the right equipment to actually see what your pet is going through. They take blood samples, charge you for medication and send you on your way. My bearded dragon died after the socalled doctor gave me a second dose of medication without even examining him or referring me to another vet. I spent $600 at this vet just for another vet to tell me how sick he was and it was too late. He was doing better and after that second dose he died within two weeks!
The doctor at Anaheim vet kept telling me " he's good! All his labs look great! He's gonna be fine!" My best friend died March 10, 2024.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 2 - Chef R.CA, CA0946Jan 4, 2024
I have very few words to say but important for you pet parent. I took my pet and he was doing alright when we got there by the time they were done with him he was practically trying to die. Sure enough 20 minutes after we got home and he got in his cozy bed and he passed away. I was charged $ 700 just so when I get home my pet can pass away, they're diagnosis' was wrong.
I understand vetenerians don't get held to the same standard as regular human doctors nor do they get held accountable because pets are considered property in the name of the law. But, it is heart breaking, I saw my cat die after taking him to a place I hope would save him 20 minutes after I got home from here. They applied a nausea medication when he was already constipated and dehydrated him worse. I trusted them specially when one of the Caucasian female nurses got mad at me for not wanting to put the vaccine on him.I listened to Dr. K. And now I hoped the doctors here one day learn that the same concept is applied at real hospitals and we're all expandable including family and friends (karma exists) . It is there job to help and make things better. You all failed today.

Absolutely thrilled with this vet hospital! Dr. Yamamoto, Dr. Seto, and Dr. Ridgeway are fantastic. They've taken care of my 2 dogs, 2 chinchillas, and guinea pig. The staff is super friendly, patient, and always addresses my questions. Love the extended hours too - early open and late close. Unlike other clinics, my pets here get accurate diagnoses and the right treatment. Special shoutout for prioritizing senior dogs. Recently, my dog had surgery to remove a malignant tumor, and the cost was a fraction of other quotes I got in a different city. Highly recommend!

My little chihuahua was vomiting and had diarrhea for several days. I couldn't get an appointment with her regular vet soon enough, and I'm so glad I came to LB Animal Hospital.
They took us in on a Sunday afternoon, and the staff was friendly and polite when we arrived. Dr. Lin took the time to assess what could be wrong with my dog, talked to us about treatment options, and gave us her opinion on how to proceed. She didn't rush us through the process, and I appreciated that.
She prescribed medication that same visit, and we were on our way. I'll return!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 34159897Apr 26, 2023Updated review
When we started coming here a year ago it was $20 for a tooth trim on my daughter's Syrian hamster. Very reasonable. Then at the beginning of 2023 it went up to $22. Ok, getting high but $2 is acceptable. I took the hamster in today, six weeks from last appointment and it's now $30 to trim this very small hamsters teeth. They told me a year ago it's a very simple procedure, no problem. Today the tech said Annabelle was very sweet and easy to work with. WTH!!!! This vet is one of the only places around that does rodents, and they are now taking advantage. I'm disappointed and disgusted with the gouging. I will no longer be recommending this vet to friends. Not ok !!!
