Dr. Stark is an amazing vet. I highly recommend this place. We have been clients for 12 years and trust her with all of our pets. Best vet ever!!

I brought Lola in as a new patient after a bite from another dog and they were so kind, general and concerned! Dr. Stark also wanted to make sure as a new patient that she wasn't traumatized with keeping her shots and etc updated and treated Lola to treats to keep her distracted

I would like to preface this review by saying I was a very good customer to Lone Star Vet and spent $900+ in only 3 months of my dog being a patient there.
I had been getting my dog's heartworm medication directly from them, but found out they were charging double what any other store was charging.
I emailed them requesting the price for my dog's written prescription and after a weeks time with no response, I called.
Miss Tiffany answered the phone with an attitude and told me to bring in my dogs negative heartworm test that they did not put into their system beforehand, then she'd write me a prescription for free.
I get there, have his negative test scanned into their system by Miss Tammy, and Miss Tiffany walks in from lunch. I kindly ask since she's here now, could I get his written prescription or could she confirm with Chewy.com that his meds were approved. Her response was, "I already told you I'm not gonna do that."
We go back and forth for an HOUR about how they haven't filled heartworm meds for him, though I was telling her the vet herself handed them to me every single time. I even showed her proof of reminders I had gotten from them to pick up another months dose. Low and behold, she made a RACIAL ASSUMPTION that my last name was Garcia instead of Gonzales and pulled up the wrong file. She realized the racialized mistake she had made, then completely changed her demeanor. She also attempted to rationalize her mistake by saying the last names both start with a "G".
Even then, she was reluctant to contact chewy.com to approve the prescription because it's "very time consuming to confirm the script over the phone." Forget she wasted an hour of MY time, right?
Not a single working person in that office said anything to my defense, even after it was obvious that she was in the wrong. Miss Tammy sat right behind her while this all happened and proceeded to have an attitude that Miss Tiffany was spending so much time speaking to me. I even waited to write this review until I received my dog's meds because I though had I written it sooner, Miss Tiffany would call chewy.com to revoke approval for my dog's meds.
I will never return to this vet hospital and will tell anyone with a pet to avoid this place at all costs.
UPDATE: Dr. Stark called, invalidated my experience by saying our names are in fact similar. I then said I wanted to discontinue the conversation because she wasn't alleviating the situation and I didn't appreciate it. She proceeded to call me "immature" and said "how about [I] have an adult conversation before writing a Facebook review." I'm in my mid-late 20's getting a doctorates degree, nothing I said or did was immature. Towards the end of our conversation, she seemed to understand how not confirming my last name based on my appearance was wrong. Disappointed in how this was handled all around.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Kurt C.Cypress, TX260Mar 9, 2021
My wife found some baby critters near the lake. After a day of feeding etc she figured maybe the vets or someone would advise what to do. She wasn't exactly sure what they were--mice, squirrels maybe? They were little little. Anyway she took them over and understanding they may or may not take them. That wasn't the issue--the issue was how rude everyone was. For a supposedly animal loving place--didn't seem that way since there were not Benjamin's in it.

First off, I know this is a bit weird. 2018 and this business doesn't have a website or a Facebook page? It's like 1996 all over again. Anyways, don't let the lack of a tech presence discourage you.
We've been taking our German Shepherds here for almost 10 years now and have had nothing but good experiences with Dr. Egan (who has since left I believe), Dr. Stark, and Dr. Gloriod. They are always caring and compassionate and deliver loving care. We've used them for heartworm treatment on our first GSD rescue, annuals, and most recently a mass removal on one of our dogs.
We feel fortunate to have such a qualified place so close to home, even if they are a little behind the times. :)Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Emily S.Cypress, TX6101Nov 5, 2018
I have been taking my Golden Retriever here for about a year and I have never left an appointment unhappy! The staff here is extremely friendly and accommodating, and we always feel welcomed when we visit. Can't say enough good things about this place. I feel like they truly care for my pets!

What wonderful staff! This was our first time at Lone Star Veterinary Hospital and I was not disappointed. At previous vets I often felt rushed, but that was not the case here. All the staff truly care about our fur babies and want the best for them. Having just adopted a dog from the pound, we brought Sully in for a check up. They did a routine check up as well as some samples and I am SO glad that they took the extra time to do this. We now have him scheduled for the right vaccinations and on meds for parasites. A HUGE thank you to the staff for taking the time to explain everything and for helping our little guy out! We will definitely be returning!!

If you love your family pet , please do not take them here. My cat was diagnosed with kidney disease and hyperthyroid, and they almost killed her. I had to seek advice from another vet, because I didn't feel comfortable with the dosage they prescribed for the hyperthyroid also considering she had chronic kidney disease.
My instinct was right, and I was glad I got a second opinion. The dosage was too high, and my cat would have not lived for another month, given this medication. I was furious to hear this, but so relieved. Sadly, my cat passed on January 2013, but thankfully she lived for another year.
The minute I walked into this place, I felt so pressured to buy "special diet" food.
The vets are more like sales people and not caring. The lady who answers the phone is very rude and not pleasant. My advise is, to go seek a second opinion if something doesn't feel right. I never went back to this place and do not ever plan to take my fur babies there. I have since adopted a cat and dog and staying far away from this place.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Elizabeth P.Cypress, TX6104Jun 24, 2017
We had to put our fur baby of 15 years down today. Our Oreo was not a patient there but you wouldn't have known that they way we were all treated. From the front desk, the vet tech and the doctor, they were awesome, caring and considerate. When the time and we are ready for another pet we are definitely coming to Lone Star for the care of our animals.
