Having been to pediatric dentists in other cities this one went just as we expected it to. We arrived early and were seen early. X-rays, exam and cleaning went smoothly. Since we've been sticklers for dental care for our 11 year old from the beginning the dentists here said the same thing as our old pediatric dentist in Houston: mouth looks great, no need for braces at this time (perhaps never) and no cavities. Services were great, front staff knows how to process our insurance and the office ran efficiently. We'll be back in 6 months.

We have been going to this location since it opened. I feel like there is a high turnover rate at this location because every time she has either a dental or orthodontist appointment it's always with someone different. This wouldn't have been a problem but she had to get 2 teeth pulled and another dentist cleared her but we were not told til we got there that the dentist who was there did not want to do the appointment. We were told to go to S 1st location and they said they know we were coming. We were on the bridge crossing Lamar when we received a call that the S 1st location couldn't fit us in. We ended up going to the S 1st location regardless and apparently, they told the 34th street location that we had to be there within a certain time.
Regardless we ended up getting the appointment after the S 1st location explained what was told to them and vice versa. The 34th street location also misquoted us on the price, but they honored the original price. I also received a bill that was past due that Margarita in billing did not help me understand and then I found out that she was/is the business office manager. The S 1st location once again had to assist me and was confused why she told me to call them if they are all connected. Other than that we still go back but might have to make a switch to the one in Circle C since we now live south.
I also feel like the parking lot at this location is just terrible. There is no other words to explain it. Once again there are parking for compact cars, and you will see SUVs in the spots, and you have to park near some dumpsters or possibly in the parking garage next door which I believe is for the hospital.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Griffin L.Port Aransas, TX01Apr 22, 2023
Do not use to get your wisdom teeth out. They were garbage to deal with and never communicated with us. They promised us they would call the Friday before the appointment on Saturday to tell us when to arrive. They never did. My son fasted overnight as requested and we went to the office on Saturday morning. They told us we never responded to a text to fill out a form, which we had done.
When we arrived at the office they said we didn't have an appointment because we didn't fill out the medical history form on time. Nobody called to tell us anything. The text message had no timelines or deadlines to fill out forms. The receptionist was totally defensive from the very beginning and said it was our fault. At this point another angry parent came up to me in front of the receptionist and said "this isn't just you, they did the same thing to us".
There were about five families waiting at 8:00 AM, everyone looking mad and/or confused about when they could expect to be seen. It was a total "cattle call" scene where you just wait as they call you up and crank you out. I'm actually glad we didn't end up getting the surgery done at this place. It gave me a butcher shop vibe. I have no confidence in this place to work on my kids' mouths for a major procedure now. We will find a place that can actually schedule a set time for a procedure.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nov 3, 2016First to Review
We have only gone there once so far, for our toddler's first check up. The doctor was very amiable and nice, and seemed to have done her job efficiently.
Everything looks clean, and they have a candy buy back for Halloween!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

Good customize service ALWAYS begins with a greeting. The staff did a wonderful job of this however, the dentist examined my daughter and never once offered a greeting or a plan of care. Orthodontics is not cheap and I do expect to be treated as if my time and money are valued! I'm a professional and I expect courtesy from another professional.

I highly recommend their services! I was in a lot of pain and discomfort because of my wisdom teeth, so I needed to get all 4 extracted. When I called, the staff was really nice, answered all my questions and I was able to get an appointment that same day.
I was extremely nervous for the extraction surgery, but it went better than I expected. It all went very smoothly and the doctor even called me 24 hours later to check up on me.
That was my first time there, but I recommend them and thank them for making my experience a good one.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Henny F.Elgin, TX1481Apr 8, 2021

This office deserves nothing but 5 stars. I highly recommend Dr. Ames. Having a filling done is nobody's favorite thing to do. He made the whole process easy and PAINLESS. If you have anybody that has anxiety going to the dentist. This is the place to go. The staff makes it easy from start to finish.

I brought my son here previously with a Groupon for a cleaning, X-rays, and exam. Everything went smoothly and the doctor said his two space maintainers (done at a different dentist) were ready to come out. I decided to wait until his next visit for that procedure. Six months later, I scheduled an appointment for the removal of the space maintainers and his biannual cleaning and checkup. During the visit, they tried to tell me that they would need to do the cleaning and exam first so that the doctor could diagnose the space maintainers removal. I had to remind them that the doctor had recommended this during the last visit. This resulted in waiting for the dental assistant to talk to the doctor. Finally they agreed with me and removed the space maintainers and did the cleaning. Then we had to wait even longer for his X-rays and exam by the doctor. I feel like they were not properly prepared for my appointment and as a result, we spent way longer there than we should have. Total time in office was over two hours for simple procedures due to their lack of preparedness for my appointment.

This is the most professional dentist office i have ever been to! Both administrative and clinical staff are amazing! Wait time was only about 5 minutes (both times ive been there). They have TV's on the ceilings so the kiddos can watch movies while they are having teeth cleaned.
