Loaded Cafe - Santa Ana First Street

This place has everything you can dream about if not more when it comes to Mexican cuisine and flavors. Their coffee flight to free concha's when you sit down, our daughter fell in love with their desserts.
Sandra our waitress was so incredibly nice and friendly made us feel like home.
Overall great experience and will definitely come back.

A gf suggested here for a brunch lunch. Thankfully the parking is free and there were plenty of parking spaces in the small shopping center lot.

I was kinda excited to eat here and give our business to a locally owned and run business.

I got there early for lunch. There were plenty of places to sit. They had me wait 10 minutes before they got one of the several available tables for me.

Once there but no warning on their website, they charge extra for not paying cash.

Thankfully, I had some with me. Prices are about average for a coffee shop. The juices and frescas all looked good on the menu. The Mexican fare on the menu looked good. We had come wanting eggs. I went with their Classic Breakfast.

Our server was nice. She asked me how I wanted my eggs. Fried not scrambled. Sunny side up. Medium. Just please the one thing I didn't want is two eggs hard. Guess what I got? It would have taken half the time we had to fix it. I just took them.

Hash browns were nicely crispy.

The link sausages run a tad on the small side. Still, good taste.

Then the bill came. I'd requested from the start for separate checks and verified they could. 1 check was presented. She fixed it. Then we say the surcharge was already added. When I said I'd paying cash, would she please remove it so my records would show accurately. She then stood and said. "Where's your cash?!". So, apparently, I'm to have offered to pay cash while we were clearly still eating. Trying to eat.

I paid cash. Gave her an extra bill to break so I could tip her. She brought me the break of my bill but not my change. Took a bit to get my change.

Double check your bill with your phone calculator that tax is on the food. not the food plus surcharge. The pre written suggested tip were based on total food, surcharge, and tax. It's supposed to be on the food only.

I won't be returning.

For breakfast food and stuff, Farmer Boys is 10x better with friendlier and better service. Go there instead.

I had the chilaquiles with steak. My honest review, they are just ok. If you are Hispanic these chilaquiles are really basic. It was basically chips, hot red salsa with some sprinkled cheese. Rice and beans are ok not much flavor. The steak was not bad. I won't try this place again. The wait was 45 minutes on a Sunday morning.

The only thing I liked about this place was they give you one free mini concha before your meal and it's a warm conchita. However, if you want a second concha it's $99 cents. lol

Great home style food! I loved this menu because of all the variety. There is something for everyone and since we went during the fall, they had a special holiday menu, pumpkin spice yum! The service was so friendly and quick with smiling faces making the place really welcoming. I'm sure this place gets busy quick because the food is delicious! We will be back again soon!

Omg I love this place the food is always soo delicious, but also let's not forget their staff Sugey was very very nice and attend to our table. I definitely recommend this place in 1st st in Santa Ana don't know why but I do taste a diferente from other loaded cafes in Santa Ana this is my favorite spot!!!

I've been meaning to try this place for the longest time and finally had time to eat here. Now I wonder why I put this off for such a long time!

You can either order to-go or dine-in, in which case I dined in. It took about 5 minutes to be seated and maybe another 5 minutes before Sandra came to serve us. Sandra was awesome! Her service was great. I ordered the Caramel Churro French Toast, Crunchy Asada Chilaquiles, and the Horchata Agua Fresca. Not sure if I hit the Holy Grail of Mexican food when I decided to come here, but it sure feels like it.

Caramel Churro French Toast- Feels like I bit into the clouds of Heaven because of how fluffy it was. It practically melts in your mouth.

Crunchy Asada Chilaquiles- A bit on the expensive side but incredibly filling! It can most likely be shared by two people. I was starving coming in but I still couldn't finish it.

Horchata- Drop everything you're doing and try this out. Best horchata in the game right now. The cinnamon is immaculate. The fact that I generally drink Kern's horchata has nothing to do with this.

Restaurant is midsized and has the interior of a diner. If there's anything I could have changed, it would probably be the height of the booth seats. It was pretty low for my liking. But that's not too major.

Highly recommend!

This place is delicious!
From the moment we walked in we were greeted and seated within 10 minutes on a Saturday.
The service was perfect, along with the pan Dulce that they give upon seating.
Definitely coming back.

Good breakfast spot. The menu is varied with multiple choices for savory or sweet dishes. The service was exceptional.

This place was by far the most cozy and fast service! If you are looking for a quick yummy Mexican food this is the place. The portions were great and good to share with family and friends. It's like a dennys but better quality food and lots of variety from savory to sweet! Our waiters were amazing and we got the secret menu huge coffee mug. The food was amazing I loved their Chilaquiles and their French toast (all their French toast were excellent).
