Lillie's Stitch'n Time

I rarely give any businesses 5 stars, but Lillie's deserves it.
I dropped off 3 dresses on a Tuesday morning to be taken in so I had options for an event on Friday evening. She said no problem and I stepped into her work room and changed, then came back the front area and she pinned everything; we did this 3 times. She said that one of the dresses might be a challenge and I told her not to worry about it. I knew I didn't have much notice when I got the invite.
I noted the sign that she does not accept Debit or Credit cards, so I made sure to bring cash on Thursday afternoon. I was there right after 4pm and the dresses fit perfectly and the hem she did in one was spot on.
Now, the 3rd dress was previously altered by Eimaj Designs in 2012 and Doris couldn't salvage it. She said if I loved the fabric, the dress would need to be taken apart, new pattern cut, zipper moved... basically a full redo :-( Doris said she was shocked this person knew how to sew when she saw the quality of alterations of the dress.

I've lost over 70 lbs and have numerous dresses and pants that I love and don't want to part with that I'm taking to Doris at Lillie's now.

-The cost of 2 dresses to be taken in and one hem in just over 48 hours was $88.

This is my secret southside alterations mecca. Not fancy at all, solid consistent work at ridiculously low prices. I wish they would take debit and credit (it's 2019 for crying out loud!) Bring some cash or your checkbook! Don't judge a book by its cover, the workshop/storefront is small and cluttered and does not project the quality of the work preformed let me just say. Nothing high tech about Lillie's just great alterations.

This place is the best for any of your alteration / repair needs! Always fast and the best prices around! I've taken several different items to her and she does an amazing job! Anything from jeans, dresses, formals, etc. Highly recommend this place!

I have taken two Bridesmaids dresses here in the last few months to be hemmed. They were done quickly and very well! Walking in for the first time I felt unsure but now I know this will definitely be my go to place for alterations.

We take anything that needs to be altered here. They do a great job. Solid, consistent work at reasonable prices.

Cannot say enough great things about this place! Took a bridemaid's dress to be hemmed and taken in and they even fixed the straps for me! So reasonably priced and prompt and I will be back :)

Lillie and Doris are freaking rockstars. This place is nothing fancy, but they do great work! Doris didn't think she was going to be able to complete my wedding dress due to the fabric and whatnot, but she did and did fabulous.

I've taken everything to her, jeans, suits, skirts, dresses, a wedding dress even. She will just hem things if that's all it needs or rework a whole wedding dress with the bodice boning corset, adding straps, rework the petticoat.

Not only is she amazingly good at what she does, she's reasonable and prompt.

AMAZING! She can do anything. She custom tailored my full lace wedding dress down from a size 16 to a size 0 and it fits perfectly! She also did my new husband's tuxedo jacket sleeves and hemmed his pants. In addition, she's tailored jeans, cashmere sweaters, silk dresses and lace tops for us. Her prices are the best in town and her work is too! FYI, she only takes cash and check.

I went to Lillie's Stitch'n Time to have a bridesmaid dress altered. This business is in a cozy office building and is rather hidden. This is also NOT a fancy dress shop. It's essentially a one-room place... no frills here! The "try-on" area is just the back work room which is cluttered with soda cans and fabric scraps and has a TV in the corner playing soap operas. So why would I recommend this place to my friends? They did the job I needed quickly and inexpensively. It only cost me about $30 to have the length of my long, sequined dress taken up and it was back to me in less than a week. Nothing fancy to boast about this place but just an efficient and inexpensive job well done. And with sewing & alteration work, isn't that all you're really looking for anyway?
