I was in Philadelphia and wanted the best Philly steak and cheese sandwich. So, I came across this spot that was highly reviewed. This is a hole in the wall restaurant that specializes in their signature steak and cheese sandwiches. They also reveal hoagies, burgers, fries and sandwiches there are also a bunch of grab and go canned/bottled drinks, chips, and pastries to choose from. It looks like a small confidence store in front of the counter.
The staff there was very friendly. You are given the option to call your order ahead, which I highly recommend. It will save you a lot of time. The restaurant does not have a dining area. There is just an open space where people wait for their food. The area is not the cleanest spot. During warm weather, or if you don't mind sitting out in the cold, there is a small patio area available yo sit and eat. They do not have their own private lot to park, there is only limited street parking available. I did not have an issue finding a spot.
Their steak and cheeses come in two sizes, small and large. The large is a whopping 18 inches. That was a bit too much for me so I went with the small, traditional steak and cheese, which was the regular size that I am use to. Ii also got a side of French fries. It took them about 15 to 20 minutes to prepare and it was hot and fresh. There was a ton of food.
I had to take my food back to my hotel because as I mention, there was no seating inside and it was way too cold to sit on the patio. It was still warm when I got there and was very delicious. It definitely lived up to all the hype. It was very flavorful and tasty. Also, the meat was over flowing out of the bun. It was stuffed. I highly recommend. This is a nice restaurant to get your steak and cheese fix. It may be off of the beaten path a bit, but is definitely worth the trip.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0 - Feb 10, 2024
Fantastic cheesesteaks! We were in Philly for a conference and a friend recommended we go here.
These cheesesteaks were delicious. We had one with peppers & onions, one with pickles, peppers & onions, one with peppers and mushrooms, and one plain.
They were huge! We wound up sharing with multiple friends back at the conference.Helpful 4Thanks 2Love this 3Oh no 0 - Lara R.Eugene, OR2363818Feb 5, 2024
My husband and I were in Lancaster for a memorial. We wanted to try a real Philly cheesesteak so I added a stop on Waze. Wow! I am so happy I did!
We both ordered the Philly pepper steak sandwich loaded with pickles and peppers. It was divine! We will be dreaming about this sandwich until we return for another!
The bread is soft and perfect for this sandwich. The cheese and the beef were perfectly melded. Yum!! I would give it ten stars if I could. (contrary to other reviews the staff was super friendly too)Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - 110316611Apr 23, 20241 check-in
Got lucky came in and the place was empty so i was able to get some recommendations. I went with pepper cheesesteak. Great customer service, price a little higher than other sandwich shop. Their Philly cheesesteak Sandwich is one of the best I've eaten so far. Nice moist meat with sweat peppers. I would recommend this place.

Now Mind you I'm not from Philadelphia originally so I wouldn't call myself a cheesesteak expert. I enjoy Leo's cheesesteak it's real thin cut steak. The cheese portion is good. The staff has always been nice to us. Answered any questions we may have. This feeds a family of 5 with Fries. Its clean and old school inside. It's been around a long time. It has been voted Delco's number 1 cheesesteak according to the signs in the shop. We will return.

I used to be a big fan of a good Philly cheesesteak sandwich until I moved to Chicago and had the Italian Beef. This place made me remember why that was a big deal. Forget the tourist trap spots downtown and come directly here
Walking inside, I knew I came to the right place. They were busy with locals who clearly loved the place and everyone behind the counter was working their butts off. Yet, they took time to give a child a treat and make him smile. Their operation is flawless here with a dash of Philly love. These people know what they're doing.
And now the important part; the food! This was THE Philly cheesesteak that I've been hunting for every time I visit. It was absolutely amazing. Perfect combination of flavors, seasonings, HUGE portions, messy as heck, and even though I was full left me wanting to go back immediately.
This place is a true gem and now my search for the perfect cheesesteak is now officially closed.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Nov 16, 2023
What a pleasant surprise! Husband heard about this place and I had my doubts but I was proven wrong.
It was crowded on a rainy Saturday afternoon, but things moved along so it was bearable.
The cheesesteak was MEGA huge. I couldn't finish it in one sitting and my husband, who never gets full, was satisfied! The bread was soft (in a good way) and the amount of meat was great! The meat was tender!
Would definitely stop by again!
There is no space to sit and eat. The vibe was like a family-owned-business vibe.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Rich H.Saint Louis, MO0164Apr 19, 2024
Food was great. My first time there, if I am ever back there again the is a must stop and have.
Sandwich was great meat tender and seasoned just perfect, with the added peppers and onions you can't beat it.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sep 21, 2023
During my first visit to Philadelphia, I decided to stop by Leo's because of the good reviews. I ordered the small mushroom cheese steak with a side of fries and got banana, peppers and onions on top of the sandwich.
The sandwich was HUGE and had so much meat making it extremely filling for one person, and was able to make two meals out of the sandwich. The fries were crispy but nothing extraordinary. For the price and the quantity of food you get, I would absolutely recommend you stop by Leo's if you're craving a cheesesteak, while in the area!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dec 20, 2023
Where should you go out of your way to get a Philly cheesesteak? Leo's Steak Shop without a doubt. I came here at night and it wasn't what I expected. I actually wanted a place to sit, but Leo's only has tables outside (and it was too cold for that)...but nonetheless I got a cheese steak with mushrooms to go.
It's a little intimidating to come here as a first timer. Too many choices and options for someone who just wants to experience a true Philadelphia cheesesteak. Nonetheless, I quickly blabbered my decision to have a hoagie with mushrooms with the hopes that I didn't mess up my one shot.
AND ALL IN ALL - I didn't. It was amazing. The mushrooms had some amazing flavor to the hoagie and it's so fun watching them prepare the ground beef and all the freshness in the prep in the back. Service can be a little brisk, but you just gotta be quick and on your game when you come here, so maybe do a little research first by reading all the Yelp reviews :).
Hope I get a chance to eat another Philly cheese steak soon.Helpful 15Thanks 0Love this 12Oh no 0
