I just want to say that I can only imagine how crazy busy these great people get and SUPER appreciate the manager coming out and offering goodies to those of us who were still in line at 900pm and kindly told we would have to come back today as there were so many ahead of us still and pie day specials as well. One can always be disappointed when one doesn't get their way, but it is never okay to post anything negative to be spiteful. I LOVE LAURETTA JEAN'S and no long line with ever change this!

Whenever someone says they are going to Portland, I tell them they have to go to Lauretta Jean's.
The salted honey pie is literally incredible. The crust is flaky, the top has a texture like creme brûlée, and the filling is delicious. The key lime pie and chocolate chess pie are also favorites. I would love to try everything here!Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0Aug 8, 2023Previous reviewThe best pie you will ever eat. Hands out. Even if you aren't a pie person, this place will change you. All the flavors are great, but if you want the best, get the salted honey. You won't regret it!

Long line but moved very fast. Also the outdoor heater makes it very bare able. Service was super friendly and upbeat so made the experience more enjoyable.
We got the banana cream, Meyer lemon chiffon, and chocolate bourbon pecan.
Banana cream onpoint. The Meyer lemon chiffon was very tart and the floral notes at the end are pretty pronounced. Floral not really my thang.
The bourbon chocolate pecan was not my cup of tea. The bourbon flavor was very overpowering and the chocolate and pecan wasn't able to balance it out.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - 327224232Jan 16, 2024
I'm not sure why I've never reviewed them. The shop is so cozy and comforting. It's the perfect place to enjoy your pie. They usually have a stand at the farmer's market too!
Blackberry raspberry streusel: sensational! The streusel top is more like a cobbler, the berries are sweet and slightly tart to make you pucker just a little. The pie crust bottom doesn't feel like it goes with the rest of the pie. But the filling and streusel top save it. My absolutely favorite!
Salted honey: I didn't think I would love this pie as much as I do. Eat it chilled. It's a melty mess warm. I don't recommend eating this outside on a hot day. This was my favorite before the blackberry raspberry streusel.
Heirloom apple: this is a very standard but elevated apple pie. It feels like the most beautiful apple pie. It's executed well.
Banana cream: very delicious. I love banana cakes, I love pies, I love cream. The flavor is very simple, yet delicious.
Red velvet cheesecake: I LOVE cheesecake, but I didn't love this cheesecake. The sour cream threw me off.
Warning! If you want a pie for the holidays. Plan ahead. Come early.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Apr 17, 2024
This place is crazy. Arriving, I already was well aware of the hype behind it, however, I was unaware as to why. Walking up, there was what felt like a consistent line out the door. As I approached the entrance, I found myself gazing at the display case filled with what was a variety of cakes, pies, and additional pastries you'd expect. As you enter, you find a bunch of seating that may or may not be taken, though it appears many are stopping by for a quick slice to go. Nonetheless, I was pleased to enjoy their s'mores cake and a slice of one of their pies. I will continue to stop by as the prices, service and quality all spell a wonderful experience.

As a cinnamon roll lover I had to find some while in Portland and that's exactly what I did when I found Lauretta Jean's.
They sell plenty of sweets and baked good but I ended up getting 2 cinnamon rolls ($4.75 each) and 1 carrot cake slice ($7). The cinnamon rolls were pretty good and the carrot cake was decent.
Lauretta Jean's is a pretty good Bakery that I would definitely recommend & return to try more of their baked goods (and of course their cinnamon rolls).Helpful 0Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - Shirley S.Northeast Portland, Portland, OR078Apr 20, 2024
I'm not much of a pie person but this shop has definitely one of the best pies I've ever tried!! It's a small cute shop on the corner and it's always busy! But the wait is definitely worth it!! Favorite so far is the banana cream and coconut cream

Wow. These people sure know how to make pies. I think what Hannah W. said is spot on: "If you aren't giving Lauretta Jean's five stars, something is wrong with your taste buds!"
There's a lot of flavors and stuff going on. I don't really have the knowledge to speak to it and describe it. I wish I did. It's just a lot of goodness mixed together in the right quantities. Some subtle, some not subtle. And everything is just so fresh and high quality.
Easily the best pie I've ever had in my life.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Nov 29, 2023
This place is perfect and as good of a pie place as I would ever hope to find. Everything I tried was outstanding.
First, I want to call out how amazing both the pie and quiche crust are. They are super flaky and crispy in the right parts. The quiche crust has herbs in it too.
Quiches: The egg parts were super fluffy and soft. The fillings were well-balanced and flavorful.
Pies: Salt Honey all day, every day. Dutch apple was great too.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
