Latte Express

It would be a crime for me to not leave a review for Latte Express.

The store is ran by a couple (my guess is Vietnamese husband and wife) and I get that 408 vibe just by placing my order with them.

I typically make my pit stop here to pick up banh mis in the morning and Latte Express has one of the best pork meatball banh mi's in the city.

This place is a real sleeper since they are an old school shop with nothing flashy that's screaming to get you to try them out but they are a must try in my books.

Pretty solid place for Bánh mì Sandwiches. I got the #7 Combination. The filling to bread ratio is good, with a good amount of meat and veggies. The bread has a nice toasty crunch and compliments everything well. There's not a lot of indoor seating, so I usually just grab and go. Service is pretty quick, and everything is made to order.

It's located between the edge of FiDi and Chinatown, but it's a great little spot to grab a quick lunch.

While you can get a cheaper sandwich in the TL, ~ $10 for a sandwich isn't a bad price for the area, and dare I say, somewhat affordable. If you're craving Bánh mì, then check out Latte Express.

Latte express is absolutely the worst. Cant believe its got 4 stars on Yelp and Google.

1. The BBQ chicken Banh Mi has RED DYE (aka chemicals) on the chicken. It was definitely NOT BBQ.

2. The strawberry smoothie tasted like cotton candy mixed with chemicals. I poured it down the drain and did not see any fresh strawberries.

3. The FINAL STRAW- As I was picking through the sandwich and mostly eating the bread because the meat was so bad, I found a strand of black HAIR!!!!!

I feel so disgusted! Horrible low quality food and drinks. Stay far, far away!

This place is nasty af and rude service they got flys on all their donuts and the owner is rude af.

Great place for a quick bite! The #4 banh mi is yummy but I personally love the #7 pate with meats. I appreciate how they give a generous portion of jalapenos and the filling to bread ratio is great!

There's limited indoor seating but I typically grab the sandwich and eat in surrounding outdoor public areas.

Such a nice and easy place for a quick lunch in downtown. This is between Chinatown and financial district. The staff are super friendly and kind. The sandwiches are always so fresh and toasty. My go to is the combo I think #7! I usually come here pretty often and walk from downtown to grab a banh Mi!

1 - fresh crunchy rolls
2- quick service
3- quality ingredients
4- nice owner-operators
5- close to my office at financial/Chinatown/North Beach

Worst food borne illness I have ever had, 8 hours after eating a Vegetarian bahn mi there this week. Disgusting. Avoid!

This tastes nothing like Vietnamese bbq beef banh mi I tasted before. I can't really tell if it's beef or pork, the texture and color of the meat doesn't look like beef or maybe it a different cut? (I am confused). There's actually bbq sauce in it which is weird. It's not like this before, why change it like that?

Came in for the Vietnamese coffee. It was strong, sweet, just how I like it. We found this place on Yelp and were glad we gave it a try. There were a lot of other menu options posted up on the walls. We will have to come back soon to try some of the food options!

I got the #7 Combo Banh mi that comes with ham, steam pork and pate. Their banh mis are delicious and really filling. They're also freshly made to order. Service is really fast here too. They sell a bunch of breakfast foods like bagels, croissants, donuts, coffee and teas too. Parking is kind of hard to find, but there is a parking garage at the park next to it.
