Hole in the wall goodness!!! No frills. No bells or whistles. Just good food! Had the pad Thai with shrimp, Red Curry with mixed seafood, Thai papaya salad, Thai Fried rice and the fresh spring rolls. Everything was delicious and cooked perfectly. Lol! I have a pet peeve when it comes to shrimp being overcooked and mush. Total Eww. I was pleased to have perfectly cooked shrimp! Definitely sparked joy!
Spicy! Ooh wee! Their level 3 spice is no joke, my usual spice level but dang it lit a fire in my mouth. Lol! And their spicy fish sauce was the bomb, had to take some home. But when your nose starts running and my hubby's bald head starts sweating you know the food is dang good.
And when you see Auntie or grandma in the kitchen, you know there's love. And LannBoon had an Aunty making our food.
Customer service was great, never had to wait for water.
Questions and recommendations were received, which I appreciate all the time.
Been back twice and recommend LannBoon to anyone looking for good Thai food. - 170063418078/3/2019Updated review
Great, Locally Owned Thai Food here!! Â Corey, the very nice and humble owner, works hard and puts out a good product for his customers in this neighborhood. Â They specialize in fine Thai cuisine from noodles, to plates, to salads. Â It's all very delicious! Â
The restaurant is in a strip mall behind an automotive repair shop. Â This little restaurant puts out some fantastically big flavored food. Â They have green papaya
salad and will make it to your spice level. Â It's fresh and crunchy texture was complimented by the lime and sauce. Â
The Tom Yum bowl of soup was served in a flaming hot pot. Â We enjoyed every sip and bite of fresh veggies and chicken. Â Everything here is made to order and they have a great take out fan base. Â If you're in the area, come by this "mom and pop" gem of a restaurant. Â These hole in the wall shops are full of friendly people, outstanding neighborhood culture and authentic, good food.6/16/2018Previous reviewLocally owned restaurant with great Thai and Chinese food. Â The Thai noodle dishes were amazing and the portions were large. Â Tom yum soup was perfect and flavorful. Â The small restaurant is best for take out since not many tables but the food is outstanding. Â Owner was very friendly. Â They offer free Thai teas on occasion.

By far my Favorite Thai Restaurant!!!
Really decent amounts of food is given in this restaurant! Super hole in the wall!!
Great customer service!!
They give water refills even without asking!
Green Curry with chicken - basil and eggplant!! Love love love my spicy level that I get is at 6/10 and that's pretty spicy!
They also give a salad soup appetizer that's super bomb!!!
It's only $10 bucks or less!
Lots of parking as well!! Thank you so much!!! I'm always excited to come back looking forward to delicious curry!! - 50005740413217/24/2018
I enjoyed a nice plate of Drunken Noodles with chicken for lunch at this slightly hidden Thai eatery. If I remember correctly, the meal was between $8 & $9.
I asked for a level 4 spice level but it sure felt more like a number 6, but I am a big boy, so I went ahead and dug in. The chicken was tender enough. It was probably a little overcooked but not by much. It was well seasoned and tasty.
The noodles were good. They were not as wide as encountered but they did taste very good with the house seasoning and sauce. I always love the inclusion of the peppers in this dish and they crisp and crunchy the way they should be. - Lynnda R.San Diego, CA436937908/21/2019
Fairly disappointed about the overall experience. I've been sick and was craving the Laotion Udon like Noodle Porridge with chicken. I read great reviews about this restaurant and decided to Dine-IN with my sister on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. since our pre-ferred restaurant at The Lao Community is closed on Tuesdays.
When we arrived at this restaurant it was empty. We weren't greeted by the gentlemen at the cashier, so we just sat ourselves at a table. Without being offered a menu, we just ordered 2 Kaow Piewk Sen (Lao Udon Noodle Soup).
Ratings **
1 Star * for dropping off 2 glasses of water at our table..
1 Star * for taking the time to talk to the kitchen chefs about the hair in the noodles. Yet not honoring the complimentary bowl that the cashier said that he would remove from the bill.
2 Bowls of Kaow Piewk Sen, one each for my sister and I that left me unsatisfied. I took two slurps of the soup broth, and wanted to gauge. The broth tasted very sweet. The noodle was undercook  the chicken rubbery (over cooked). In my sisters bowl was a string of hair inside the pressed noodles. If your familiar with how the noodles are made; you have to knead the tapioca in hot water and cut them in to strips. Somewhere during the process the chef's hair must've accidentally fell into the tapioca which I understand.  Yet, no apologies from the cashier/server. All he said was I won't charge you for 1 bowl, but did anyways.
ALL I wanted was a WARM, nice hearty bowl of Kaow Piewk. Sadly, disappointing. - Charles K.Temecula, CA1714/21/2020
Great Thai food with authentic flavors. Customer service is from the owner himself who is very polite and grateful for your business. Open during the pandemic for take out and delivery via Grubhub and Doordash.

This place is amazing! The place is small and very hidden but these dishes taste authentic and not like that 55 Americanized crap. I love their pad thai and panang chicken Curry. However contrary to another review, the food in my opinion is very spicy. I have asked for a number 6 and a number 3/4 and they have been really spicy. If you aren't to keen on spicy food I would recommend asking for the spice on the side.
Their thai tea is one of the best I've tasted. Not overly sweet like many other places I've tasted but it has a strong tea taste. It's to die for and I craved it ALL the time. I have come here about 5-6 times already and me an my husband are obsessed. Going back today for more
The Waiter is so kind and always so attentive. We've never waited more than 10 minutes for our food. They are usually not very busy and it breaks my heart because this restaurant deserves more attention. Not too much because I still want a seat when I go lol kidding. - Alina H.San Diego, CA38100876/3/2019
I am so disappointed for the first time at this place. Â Did ownership change? Did the the chef change!? What happened!?!? This was my go to place for YEARRSSS for nem cao (fried rice) and papaya salad! I wanted to introduce some coworkers to this cuisine and even though they enjoyed it, I did not :(. Â I'm giving it a 3 stars only because customer service was awesome and a couple of dishes wasn't bad. Â
1) nem cao: it was super crispy so yay! But the flavor and everything was off for me. Â I couldn't tell what was the grayish pieces where until I finally isolated the piece and it was the nem, but why isn't it red but gray!??? Is it another version that I am u aware of???
2) papaya salad: I am used to actual shredded pieces, not hand cut size. The thicker it is the less flavor it picks up from the lemon and fish sauce. It didn't even look like they used a mortar to smash it all together. Hand mixing will not do for this dish :/ Â it also lack all the main flavor: sweet salty and most importantly sour
3) beef drunken noodle: this was the only star. Â It was perfectly season and cooked. Â
4) Thai ice tea: a lot of tea and thank goodness it wasn't full of creamer and sweet. What's even better? We got it for free with Yelp check in!
5) sweet sticky rice w/ mango: this was yummy as well. Â
I hope this was just a bad day for the chef or some substitute. Â I hope I get my favorite dishes back to the way it used to be. - 53631376783/2/2019
This place is the BEST! Kinda tucked away in the corner. Parking is ok. Food is delicious with plenty of choices. Authentic & tasty. Friendly environment. If the locals eat here you know it's a good place. :) Nice size portions. Affordable prices. Spicy levels are to your liking. I usually get mild or medium. Owner & staff are super friendly & answer all the food questions. There's also pictures on the menu. I definitely would recommend this place to my friends & family.

The wait can be long, but the food was pretty good. Spice levels are on the higher end, e.g., a 5 here is spicier than 5 most other places. Be forewarned.
Also it's a bit hard to find - it's all the way in the corner of the plaza.
