Please reopen laguna thai by the sea!
We all miss you!
You were one of my favorite family run thai food places in Southern California.
Your food was always delicious, the atmosphere was great, and everyone that worked there was super f'ing cool.
I'm so bummed to see this location closed.
Please reopen and try again very very soon, your were really good at what you do!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 1 - Kai C.Manhattan, New York, NY11136Feb 22, 2022
Delicious authentic Thai in Laguna. Seems like they are only doing takeout. I ordered by phone and picked up (5 min walk from my BNb). Had the Pad Woon Sen and Ga Ree Chicken. Both were very good quality with lots of fresh vegetables. Portions were generous. Service was friendly.

Easily four stars. This is authentic Thai food with a surprisingly good wine list and a weird, eclectic interior. The meat is top notch quality and the noodles are perfectly stir fried. A healthy dose of spice tops off the delicious dishes.
Try the pad see ew with beef. The Geo Tod thingys with cream cheese and avocado are pretty good too. The Ka Ree Gai is fantastic yellow curry. We didn't go wrong with any of those dishes.Helpful 6Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0May 31, 2011Previous reviewI heard about this place through regular old word-of-mouth and saw that it had decent reviews, so I took my Mom for lunch here over the weekend.
They have a couple of reserved spots for Laguna Thai next to the structure (down a slight incline off of PCH) and that's big points in Laguna. The place really is a hole-in-the-wall but the food is very good.
The Highs
- Great quality meat. Chicken was well-prepared and very clearly all-white-meat. That goes a long way at many Asian places!
- Friendly service
- Good yellow curry (probably a 7.5 out of 10 on my scale)
The Lows
- No Thai Iced Coffee (they did have Thai Iced Tea, but it's very unusual for a Thai restaurant to not have Iced Coffee too)
- No Amex (shouldn't be surprising for a small place like this)
- No large bills
Overall I would be open to coming back, but at someone else's suggestion. But Thai Bros up PCH is next on my list of Thai places in Laguna to try. - Emily G.Laguna Beach, CA061Apr 25, 2021
Our favorite place in Laguna. The food is 10/10 and the atmosphere is so cozy. We always order the yellow curry, papaya salad, and pad see ew.

CRYING TIGER: this was good. Wasn't spicy at all.
CHICKEN SATAY: this was good
PAD SEE EW (chicken); this is sooo good! Still thinking about it. So flavorful!
CHICKEN FRIED RICE (no pineapple): this was super good! So so tasty!
CHICKEN COCONUT SOUP: this was a little
Too sweet for me. Would not order next time.
BROWN RICE: wasn't a fan of their brown rice. Hi
Can't wait to come back!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Arman S.Newport Beach, CA34910374Mar 19, 2021

A Thai restaurant owned by Thai people, so you would assume the place to be rich in cultural taste, but surprisingly it wasn't! I think they made the dishes more fitting towards the local neighbors. The dishes were a little sweeter than usual and I felt like I was at an American restaurant. I mean it makes sense.. Laguna Beach is heavily populated by Americans.
A very very small location in the corner of the street in Laguna Beach. It's pretty easy to miss because it's so small, but I'd say one of the best Thai restaurants in the area!
I got the
Appetizer ---
1. Bong ($6.95): shrimp and avocado wrapped in a rice paper shell. I do not recommend this. We got it so that we would have something to munch on before our actual dishes came out, but it actually ruined our appetite.
This was a 1/5.
A La Carte ---
2. Drunken rice/noodles ($12.95): also known as "phat khi mao" . This had fried rice/noodles (you choose either fried rice or noodles) with chicken, pork, shrimp, vegetables, and an egg in spicy basil sauce. I got the noodles instead of fried rice. This was a 3.5/5. A little too sweet.
3. Pad Thai ($11.95): rice noodles cooked with shrimp, tofu, egg, onion, sprout, and ground peanut. This is the thinner noodles and it had a few medium rare beef slices on top as well as cilantro. This was pretty yummy! 4/5.
4. Pad see ew ($11.95): a choice of chicken/pork (I got chicken) stir fried with big rice noodles, broccoli, carrot, and egg. This also had few slices of medium rare beef slices and cilantro on top. This was my favorite dish! 4.3/5.
5. A' fried rice ($11.95): stir fried rice and chicken, pork, shrimp, pineapple, raisin, grape tomatoes, onions, and egg. Didn't meet my expectation, 2.5/5.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Mar 17, 2019
Laguna Beach, Ca.
I used to come here for lunch because the food was great and cheap. However the chef was often late or there was only one server for a packed resturant. So I just quit. Soon after lunch was discontinued anyway.
I have been here for dinner several times and the food has always been excellent, good sized portions, and reasonably priced.
Service is always friendly and pretty efficient. At first I thought it odd that some dishes come out early and others in our party are watching those dishes being eaten. That has improved a lot and the time difference is now only a few minutes, at least it was last night.
My usual go to dish is the Rama chicken but last night I tried the salmon curry. Wow. It was amazing . The salmon was a large perfectly cooked steak, not some skinny filet. The veggies were also perfectly cooked, the green beans still had some snap to them. The sauce was delicious but fiery. I enjoyed it but if you shun capsicum try the salmon steak without the sauce. As I acclimated to the heat I found the sauce to be wonderful. I had to get more rice to soak it all up. The salmon dishes take 35 minutes to prepare, we were told in advance though. The chairs have no cushions and get very hard. If you are old, bring your your own pad.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0
