Carne asada burrito with beans plus a small coke was the perfect fix! While riceless, the bite was big and packed with flavor (especially with the spicy salsa that comes on the side). The steak was smoky juicy goodness and the tortilla was solid.

They accept card/apple pay but encourage cash if I remember correctly. Very much a no-nonsense type of burrito that's a tried and true classic (with a like to prove it)!

Bummer that this place is a bit of a hike to Dolores park!

If you are vegetarian please don't go here! I'm not even vegetarian, I had a chicken item and I would still stay don't go here.

I went on a Saturday and there was a long line and I still waited to grab a burrito and taco to go. I got a super vegetarian burrito and asked for refried beans instead of pinto and they got that wrong and gave me pinto, there was an option to make it spicy on the menu so I asked them to make it spicy and they didn't. I also got a chicken taco. Both items were so bad I feel I need compensation from them for making me go through the miserable experience of eating them. I ate the food about 10 min after grabbing it at the pickup window and it was so wet, that within minutes my bag ripped. I didn't know gorillas could get so soggy in 10 minutes.

Chicken regular taco: it was so bad and bland, it was a huge piece of bland and unflavored piece chicken in a soggy tortilla with an extremely wet pico on top that had absolutely no spice or flavor. There was also pinto beans on the taco that were so bland. It was so bad I couldn't even finish it and since it was so sorry it fell apart at touch

Veggie Super Burrito: worse than the taco, even though I couldn't finish the taco. First of all, they got my order wrong. Secondly, there was no structure to the burrito, it was just so wet and the tortilla fell apart at touch since there was so much liquid inside. I think a big issue is that there wasn't rice in the burrito, and tons and tons of liquidy ingredients, when I held the burrito all the ingredients fell to the bottom and just fell right out. The flavor was even worse, I could handle a structure-less, ingredient-less burrito. The flavor was so bland and soupy, the guacamole, beans and salsa had no flavor.

Definitely would not recommend anyone go here, there are way better Mexican places in the mission.

      Chef's kiss.

The vegetarian burrito is 6.75 and fairly large. It's a simple burrito but does the trick. The service is fast too. This place doesn't have too much seating and the line is always long, which makes sense given how delicious. The ambiance is always bustling with folks and is a lovely spot to eat your meal. The surroundings are definitely a bit sketchy but nothings ever happened to us. Would recommend if you're in the mission.

La Taqueria is probably one of my favorite Mexican places in the area. I've been here since I was in middle/high school, and it never failed to impress me each time.

The line does get long but it runs pretty quickly. So you order your food and you'll probably get it in no more than 20 minutes I'd say? We ended up getting a couple orders. The pollo/lengua burrito El Dorado Style, the Carne Asada Taco, as well as the Carne Asada Burrito El Dorado Style. When you order your taco, you also gotta order it a "super" one because you definitely want that extra pico de gallo and guac... It wouldn't make any sense not to do that.

I just love that their burrito has so much juice and flavor. The El Dorado Style is basically the burrito that's pan fried on both sides, so it has that extra layer of crunch and giving it that golden look. The chicken was moist and tender, flavorful too, and the lengua had such a nice texture to it. And overall, it was a great burrito that didn't even feel that heavy at all. It was also void of rice, so it doesn't look hefty. But man did they amp up the flavor of it though. The "super" taco was a treat too.

I love this place and I always enjoyed coming here since I was a kid. The burritos here just hit so much differently compared to any other place I've ever tried and I'm a happy camper because of it.

I have been eyeing this spot to check out for a long time and finally got to do so! I've always seen a line so I'd figured I try to call it in! When I arrived I noticed that they were taking some orders and seating at the door so I think that also causes it to always have a line! The restaurant is very informal and you can order and grab a seat! I saw so many recommendations for the carne asada super burrito dorado style spicy and wow! It was so good! The carne asada meat was so tender and packed with so much flavor with the beans, guacamole, sour cream, pico, etc! The burrito does not contain rain so it does feel less heavy and easier to manage and eat! The burrito by itself was not spicy even though I asked for it to be spicy! I did love the salsa verde! Now that had a kick and was a perfect pair with the burrito!

Going into less wants and less worries mode this month. La Taqueria was one of my February stops before I start slowing down of my foodie excursions for the time being.

La Taqueria is located in the heart of Mission and serves up delicious and affordable tacos. I went for the carne asada and the carnitas. Both meats were super tender. Both tacos came with a generous amount of fresh salsa, beans, and meat (note that it's extra cost for cheese and/or guacamole). The tacos are BIG! I thought the seasoning for the carne asada was more satisfying. Took two to-go to share with family.

They offer indoor seating to those dining in. Beware, the floors are a little slippery. Service was fine. Oh and there's a credit card usage fee.

Super crowded, but the service is fast (ready within minutes), the food good, and prices fair. They have their menu available outside that can be accessed by QR code so you don't hold up the line when you decide to order. You order first, pay, then wait for your order regardless of sitting inside or getting to-go. I tried the carnitas super burrito (no cheese, no sour cream) and was shocked at how flavorful carnitas could be. I usually opt for some kind of beef but my friend said this place is known for their pork, and I was pleasantly surprised. I would definitely return if in the area and were craving Mexican food.

I've been wanting to try this place for some time now. We decided to order ahead and eat at home since it was cold and rainy.

I'm sooo glad that we called to ordered ahead. The line to order was crazy long!

The menu on the website connected to their Yelp account is incorrect which was thoroughly annoying. I wanted something that was on that menu that they actually didn't make. Wish they will update the website or link or just remove it completely.

Ended up ordering 2 super burritos with carnitas. We heard they had the best carnitas here so had to try it.

The carnitas were good. The super burritos were soggy. They also don't come with rice which to me wasn't a big problem since it's less carbs but something to keep in mind if that's one of your favorite ingredients in a burrito. Overall, I thought my burrito was too much on the soggy side and the carnitas was good but not something I'd rave about. Was expecting a crispy carnitas but everything was just soggy all around.

I was kinda shocked by how small the inside was considering I always see a pack of people outside - but I guess that makes sense. Lol!

There was a mariachi playing that night so that sets the mood a bit for a weekend dinner.

They didn't have a kids menu like the incorrect website linked to the Yelp did so we just ordered a regular chicken quesadilla for our little guy.

The chicken quesadilla was nice a crisp on the outside and it tasted good. My son was enjoying his food UNTIL...He comes over to me and picks out a 1 inch long skinny chicken bone from his mouth he ate from the quesadilla. That was quite frustrating as he could've choked on this! I had to be extra careful and shred the (already shredded) chicken some more but at that point my son was over it and didn't want to eat anymore. *sigh*

My husband thoroughly enjoyed the super burrito though so a win there. But the wrong website link with wrong menu and the chicken bone in the quesadilla just really disappointed me.

Miiighhtt try again if my husband wants to eat here or someone wants to try it out but order a different meat but nothing I'm going to be running over or dreaming about anytime soon.

Inch long skinny bone in shredded chicken quesadilla. Something to watch out for if feeding to kids.

What more can be said about the food here? The tacos dorados are full of flavor, texture, and cheesy goodness!
Plus, they certainly do not skimp on meat! I did ask for extra carnitas, but I was not expecting the amount they gave me per taco!

These are hands down the best tacos dorados !

Of course, I added some Abuela's Sweetheat Chili Crunch to each bite and OMG!!! Flavor overload!

Be advised that they regularly have a line to order. You order with the person at the little kiosk, specify for dine-in or to go. If dining in, expect to wait for an open table.
Thankfully, I didn't have to wait too long for a table when I got my food.

Speaking of which, keep the little paper with your number on it and listen carefully for your number to be called.

The inside is quaint and is made for you to sit and eat and go. There was a lot of hussle and bustle when I went, people eating, talking and there was even a singer with a guitar

From waiting in line, ordering, paying, getting food, and a table, the whole experience took about 45 minutes.

I highly recommend that you try this place for World Class tacos dorados!

Beauty in simplicity! I don't know if it's because I know this place has been voted a local favorite or it was just that good... or cuz I was famished. I just know I will definitely be back!

I got the regular carne asada burrito el dorado style, added avocado. The tortilla was extremely fresh, steak had the flame kissed flavor and tenderness, not too much of each ingredient. They don't do rice in their burritos and it was not missed!

I will say that the green salsa felt like it could be more flavorful or maybe an additional red salsa offering would be nice... but again, maybe it was nice that it was a subtle salsa and part of why this place was so good. I can't decide, I just know I want another!

We also got the strawberry Fresca and it was so refreshing with lots of strawberry pulp.

The facade of the building is beautiful, restaurant clean and service fast and kind!
