I've been here for a special event. The second floor convention area is modern and the view is great. The service was friendly and the food was good.

I spent last night at La Place Rendez-Vous.
There was a balcony off my room and the view of Rainy Lake was lovely as the sun went down. My bed was comfy. The outlets behind the desk didn't work and there were none available behind the TV so I set up my laptop at the table by the window, which gave me a nicer view
Parking and WIFI were free. There was a mini fridge and coffee maker in the room. There is a restaurant/lounge in the hotel. Downtown and other restaurants are a ten minute drive away.
I bet this is a fun place in the summer time when it's warm enough to use the beach and sit outside.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Paul L.Green Bay, WI229687Aug 27, 2017
Real nice hotel right on the water. We left our window open all nice and could hear the sound of the water splashing up on shore.
The room was clean and comfortable and had a nice big screen tv and a mini fridge. The food in the bar was very good as well. My wife had the sirloin and it was cooked perfect for her liking and I had a cup of taco soup and blackened chicken salad. Both were very tasty.
The service was excellent as well. It is a place we would be glad to return to stay.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Denis B.Vancouver, Canada07Jun 8, 2016
What a beautiful hotel and great restaurant. The staff at the Vous have always been very professional and make you feel at home when visiting. The evening view are spectacular along with the famous wing night!
The room that I stayed in was updated and very clean as well there is great parking for boats and trailers.
If you want to truly enjoy Rainy Lake and have a great place to stay the Rendezvous is it.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jonah C.Fort Frances, Canada01Aug 19, 2018
They told me they weren't open anymore even though I went there an hour before they were closed at the bar. Very poor service. Don't recommend going there.

The Rendezvous is located right on Rainy Lake in Fort Frances in a beautiful setting. While the lake is known for its great fishing, you're sure to enjoy the views. Whether you arrive by car or by boat, the staff are there to make you feel welcome. Canadian hospitality at its best.

Unremarkable food in a decent setting. Everything tastes like out of a box, a bottle or a can.
They do however have a separate gluten-free and vegetarian menu available.
The veggie wrap with thai coconut sauce was not good. The santa fe salad is safe.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Amelie and Dan B.Oak Park, IL11513Jul 10, 2013
Nice location overlooking the lake. Upon checking in, the receptionist gave us a small discount, but when we checked out we were charged the regular rate. We felt that making a big fuss over a few dollars wasn't worth it, so we left it alone.
Our room was very basic and cleanliness was lacking.
We checked-in late and checked-out early. We should have stayed at the campground across the street...Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Michael L.Reno, NV58773447Mar 17, 2009First to Review
We were to meet a niece for lunch here, and we did.
This is a restaurant located in the hotel complex of the same name. It over looks Rainy Lake. The lake at the moment is ice covered and not all the scenic.
We arrived to an empty room and was seated straight away. The waitress was fine in that she was friendly.
We each ordered something different, I the fish and chips, Gus the walleye and Marty a tortilla something or another.
Marty and Gus both enjoyed the food, I of course did not. My fish tasted like baby food wrapped in a sponge, barely cooked. One bite and that was all I could do. Oh well it gave me more time to talk and bore everyone.
I am fairly sure if it is my choice, eating here would not happen again.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0
