La Palma Mexican Grill

My fiancé and I dine here quite a bit. There margaritas are superb! The food is delicious and I love that it's not traditional Mexican. They have a mix of other Latin influence. Definitely worth a visit if your craving authentic cuisine.

Love this place! Have been known to drive from Bradenton to Leesburg just to eat there & have lunch with my dear friends. As a matter of fact...I did just that today! La Palma did not disappoint.

We were a party of 5. Great margaritas and unique 2 for 1 creation (today was cucumber/jalepeno.)
The fajita plates arrived with a large portion of protien and veggies ( a single feeds 2 easily) "that" was the favored pick of the day...I was the oddball. I tried the "protien" bowl... It's namesake, the La Palma Bowl. - layers of protien rice, black beans, grilled corn, avocado, your choice of steak, chicken, shrimp or carnitas protien. I chose grilled shrimp.( could have been a bigger helping but delicious ) and topped lightly with a white queso... I think that is what it was...very good...seemed healthy enough.
I would be remiss if I didn't mention the endless chips and salsa...
A delicious meal, exceptional company, good service, fair prices, plenty of parking...and if you are eating on the deck...look out for the trees!

... their lunch specials between 11AM & 3PM for $9.95 is pretty much all I need to send me on my way ... you can spend more but it's not necessary.

The servers mostly speak English and they are very nice & attentive.

I would bring groups of people here either for business meetings, family gatherings or to party with your favorite bottle of tequila. They have all these scenarios covered.

Basically ... if you can find a Mexican restaurant in Florida that can get their basics right ... like refried beans, salsa, chips & tortillas ... you've found a winner.

Would be 5 stars - BUT - No chips n' dip with take-out!, while chips n' dip are served for free with dine-in meals, as with most Mexican restaurants, of course.

From a management and servers' perspective, I get it... ($)... but from a customer's stance - especially when most other Mexican restaurants are sending big chips bags out the door - that's a 3-star bummer!

Best staff, food is scrumptious, great display and portions plus the margaritas are DELICIOUS !!!

Excellent lunch. Friendly staff and cheerful/clean restaurant. Several lunch specials to choose from; my enchiladas (one red, one green) were delicious!

We came with a large party of 12. We were immediately seated. The staff are friendly and attentive. The decor is classic Mexican restaurant. The chips and salsa are good. My La Palma bowl was full of flavor and delicious. We did have to wait over an hour for our food. Just beware, you need to have plenty of time when dining here and not be in a rush.

Great Mexican food for the area. We stopped in with the family while visiting from Texas. Ordered the burrito and chimichanga lunch combo and was not disappointed for the amount of food for the low price. Ended up going with the shredded beef for the burrito and chicken for the chimi. I regret not going with the shredded beef for both as it tasted so good. Was incredibly juicy like a tender pot roast. The chimi was nice and lightly fried and did not have any extra grease from cooking it which is always preferred to keep it crispy and not eat any grease pockets. The chips and salsa were my only let down as the chips just tasted stale and the salsa seemed to be watered down. Not sure if was just an off day for those as the family goes regularly and said it is usually good.

Great place to eat. Try the mofongo and try their Pina Colada. Service is great and food is wonderful

So, I know that eating in a restaurant is going to be a different experience than ordering delivery. However, you do have certain expectations, one being the food you order is what you get.

I ordered an appetizer of queso and chips. The queso was okay, but very runny. For the main course, I ordered the steak fajita. I was given the option of a flour or corn tortilla. I chose the flour. When I got my order it included all the customary fixings for a fajita except one, the tortilla! I had nothing to hold all those ingredients together, which was a huge disappointment.

So, while I was disappointed in my takeout order, I do look forward to dining in the restaurant and having a much better experience.

Arrived about 6:30 pm on March 27 and were seated near the door leading to the outside seating area. Restaurant was freezing cold with staff and customers commenting about the cold air blowing everywhere. Server taking order was very pleasant. We ordered the combination dinners with rice and beans which were delivered to the table within a reasonable wait time. Food and plate were cold - not just cool, but cold which added to the lack of flavor of everything on the plate! Salsa was ground tomatoes and no seasoning and tacos were cold. Have dined here frequently, but will not return!
