This has become by Friday treat! Oat Draft Latte, add vanilla, and an extra shot of espresso if you're in need of that extra boost.
The large oat lattes come with the equivalent of two shots of espresso. It's smooth, and creamy. Adding vanilla makes it perfect, a nice dose of sweetness that just takes it to another level.
The staff is always friendly. Even if the line is out the door, it moves fast. Worth the wait.Helpful 7Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0 - Mar 24, 2024
When we arrived, there was a line out the door, but impressively it moved pretty fast! Got a cappuccino, flat white, and 2 pastries - one was a chocolate/cinnamon pastry and one was a cheese and tomato savory pastry. I liked that they give you the option to drink your coffee "to stay", from real ceramic and glass drinkware, and the bar tables were cool for standing and drinking your coffee, quasi-Italian style. The coffee was good and service was fine but the pastries were terrible! The sign on the pastry case said that they're made fresh daily and come from The Publican but it seemed like they'd been sitting in the fridge for about 3 days. Not flaky and the layers of pastry were so hard and stuck together that I could barely take a bite with my front teeth; I had to tear it apart with my hands!
Based on my enjoyment of La Colombe coffee which I brew at home, I had high expectations. Sadly this is not a good look for La Colombe. They'd be better off not offering any pastries whatsoever because now I'm left with a bad taste in my mouth (literally and figuratively). I should've known better when I noticed that most of the people there had brought in donuts from the Voodoo Donut nextdoor instead of having La Colombe's pastries lol.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Feb 11, 20242 check-ins
Good morning, West Loop!
Welcome to one of the friendliest chains in Chicago! The staff is not only friendly to their customers, but to each other. It really amps up the environment to see the baristas interacting with each other- you can tell they really value teamwork and community here.
I have to admit, I am NOT a coffee drinker. When I visit this cafe, it is as a plus one to my cortado-loving partner. A hard drink to find, and an even harder one to serve well- Colombe does a good job.
I enjoy trying the treats here! The Canelé is a new favorite (picture included).

How have I just discovered this place? I was looking for some coffee after a nail appointment down the block, and recognized the brand from the La Colombe canned coffee they sell at the grocery store.
This place only serves coffee and tea drinks, along with some variety of baked goods. If you're looking for breakfast/lunch sandwiches, this isn't the place for you. Decor is minimal, but a great ambiance to work from "home" or study.
Service was great! The baristas are sweet, kind and helpful. I was in between choices and the barista was more than happy to recommend her favorite drink. I went with the cappuccino. Even though it was a to-go cup, it still came out with the adorable coffee art. If you're not into coffee and tea, they have a few more options (chai, matcha etc..) for you to choose from.
This is one of a few other locations around the city, but a great stop while exploring or hanging around the West Loop.

I have been waiting years to try La Columbe Coffee at their actual cafe. I have been drinking their canned draft lattes for years and have been a huge fan of these canned draft lattes. I finally made it to this La Columbe Coffee cafe while visiting Chicago. I ordered their famous draft latte. I had their original version with whole milk. It was creamy and sweet. I enjoyed it, but I would have enjoyed it if it was less sweet and more coffee. They have a less sweet version called the half tan, which is half draft latte and half cold brew. The employees working were very nice and seemed happy to be at work!

This definitely would be my go to coffee place in Chicago. Anytime I visit a new city I love to try the different coffee shops the place has to offer. From its bold taste to its strong and flavorful aroma, this coffee truly stood out from the rest. What sets this coffee apart from the rest is its unique and distinct flavor. It possesses a depth that is hard to find elsewhere, making it a standout among the vast array of coffee options in Chicago. Whether you're a coffee connoisseur or simply someone who appreciates a good cup of coffee, I highly recommend giving this coffee a try. It's worth the wait!

Visited on 2/17. Long line just right out the door and we were out in less than 15 minutes! I ordered the oat milk draft latte with vanilla (add vanilla). Loved the location, cleanliness and most importantly the coffeeeeeee! If you're big on strong strong coffee, add an extra shot on top!

La Colombe is one of my favorite places to get coffee after my workout in the city. The coffee is always smooth and rich in flavor. I have had their vanilla latte served both hot and cold, always with oat milk and I must say, they have one of the best in the city. The latte comes with two shots of espresso, and the vanilla flavor is never artificial tasting. It has just the right amount of sweetness and richness. On my last visit, I ordered the gingerbread latte made with oat milk. This seasonal drink topped any seasonal drink chain coffee shops offer. The gingerbread flavor reminded me of an old fashion gingerbread cookie, rich in spices and molasses but not overpowering. The space has a decent amount of seating, and the vibes are very welcoming. The staff is very friendly and helpful, always ready to recommend something delicious.

This the second location I have been to and it delivered once again. The draft latte is probably my favorite iced coffee drink out there, I love the canned drinks but straight from the tap is 10x better. I added a lil Demerara simple syrup to sweeten mine just a tad more. Staff was friendly and quick, there's also always free water which is great! Very cool vibe quiet enough you can have a conversation but not too quiet.
