Great food; super fresh ingredients and solid portions.

The mozzarella and tomato appetizer is a must and a tower!

Pizza is great and quality, could be a more creative with the ingredient combinations but the current offerings were great albeit mainly basic.

They were out on a lot of beer that night; could use more local beer on draught and in bottles.

Interior, especially the bathroom, could use updating.

      Would visit again and recommend.

The pizza here was not what I was expecting at all but it was still good. My friends and I ordered a half and half pie but it was rectangular? What? I was expecting a round pie. Any who. The pie really felt like a less doughy and thinner Sicilian, but it was nice, airy and crispy. The place itself is comfortable with a few tables and a bar area. Also, it was pretty cool that they don't charge extra if you wanted to do a half and half pie.

      The food:

San Daniele- Tomato sauce, mozzarella, arugula, prosciutto & parmesan. This is such a classic pie and the one here was done well. The prosciutto was nice, it was a tad chewy but still had good flavors. I enjoyed this part of the pie better. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=iGCcA-2VoP5KL4BYBBZqJg&userid=Y_iTTjKvV5hLy-880SZzlA

Alla Roba- Mozzarella, gorgonzola, pear and walnut parmesan, truffle oil, balsamic. This pie grew on me the more I ate it, the first bite was OK but was better over time. It was such a unique combo from the walnuts to the pears to the balsamic to the gorgonzola but everything worked.

This place is not fancy looking inside. It has an old, industrial feel to it, which fits with its Chinatown/Lower East Side location.

They serve Neapolitan style pizza (plus a small selection of appetizers and drinks). It is different from the typical NYC pizza in a good way. It is thin, fluffy, with less sauce and oil, and overall healthier. We were also surprised by the size of it. It comes in a long rectangular shape and was much bigger than we expected. We ordered a large to share. It is definitely big enough for three people to share - see my photo with my cellphone next to the pizza for comparison.

SUNDAY BRUNCH and barely anyone was here! L'asso is a pizza joint we'd been wanting to try, one side note the art on the wall is a bit creepy

interestingly the crust seemed different on the Medium pizza VS the Small sized breakfast pizza! definitely enjoyed the crust on the small pizza more so i might have to get multiple smalls in the future
--breakfast pizza (ONLY AVAILABLE SAT & SUN): the bacon makes this one a savory goodie, wish there were more egg yolks though.. 2 mini yolks for a whole pizza was not enough!
--margherita DOC: TASTY, loved the fresh ingredients on this pizza, winner!
--tartufo: nothing too special, the mushrooms could have been more flavorful

NOTE: you can get HALF one flavor & HALF another only on the medium and large sizes

I saw a Puls'd deal for L'asso (one large pie with either a bottle of wine or four cocktails). It seemed like an awesome deal! When I did a quick Yelp, I saw it was already on my bookmarks list, so it was pretty much a done deal.

My boyfriend and I arrived at about 2 pm on a Sunday and the place was nearly empty. It could have also been due to the fact that the last day of the San Gennaro festival happened to be going on at the same time - so I'll give L'asso the benefit of the doubt. There were a few pizzas that caught my eye, but we finally decided on half tartufo (portobello pesto, mushrooms, choice of smoked or regular mozzarella, rosemary & truffle oil), and half culo di porko (tomato sauce, mozzarella, crispy prosciutto, scallions). Both were good, but nothing amazing. The mushrooms tasted fresh. The prosciutto tasted more like bacon than it did prosciutto.

Overall, I had a good experience. However, the pizza seems a bit pricey for the quality. You're better off heading over to Rubirosa nearby. I'd probably only return if there was another Puls'd deal.

Great pizza and even better customer service.

Came here for lunch. There's a $7 happy hour special which is 2 margharita slices and a drink (alcoholic). You can't see the pizza options from the sitting area because it's tucked behind the bar. the server will tell you what's available. I opted out of the drink so my bill was $5 for the 2 slices. I asked for a side of sauce and since it took a while, the server gave me an extra slice on the house. So I really paid $5 for 3 slices in Nolita - talk about a deal!

The pizza has a very thin crust with light sauce, fresh mozzarella, and basil. However don't be fooled by its thinness because you taste every ingredient.

The inside is very simple with a good amount of seating for a large party and a bar you can sit at.

Overall, like I said earlier, great pizza with great customer service.

      Happy dining!

Went here for dinner after getting a pulsd deal ($29 for large pie and four drinks).

The good: the San Daniele pizza we ordered (red sauce, mozzarella, arugula, prosciutto) was simple and delicious. Crust a little too crunchy for me to love but was different from what I'm used to and from that aspect was good. Also, two of us finished a large--it can be done!

The bad: service. Didn't get napkins until we asked. Pressured to leave--server asked me "so wow you guys are hardcore chilling...wrapping up any time soon?"

The ugly: the DECOR. Why has no one commented on this yet? The reviews sounded like it would be a softly-lit cozy place. It's not. It's bright and kitschy. There are newspaper clippings about a "porn King" everywhere and photos of go-go dancers all along one wall. Perhaps a nod to some kind of neighborhood history, but I didn't want to run the risks associated w googling "porn King" to find out.

All in all: good deal, fun evening, probably won't come back.

two of us devoured this in 12 minutes

      Best. Pizza. Ever.

Came here for the brunch special for $25 with a group of friends for a birthday. Best decision ever! For such a low price, we got a choice of our own pizza, and bottomless mimosas and/or bloody Mary's.

The taste was freaking phenomenal, I've been to all the pizza staples as well as the local hidden gems all around the city but this by far, is the best I've ever had.
I got the brunch style pizza and they put AN EGG on it!!!!! First it may sound a little strange but holyyyyyy combination, ITS AMAZEBALLS.

The place is kind of small but I waited with a group of 5 for only about 10 min. Not bad. The workers were super attentive and catered to our every need. Our glasses were never empty.

      Fantastic!!!!

      2 stars.

In lower Manhattan with a restaurant every step you take, there is no reason to step into this place again.

      Small quaint space.

Met a girlfriend for lunch on a Sunday. Was nice because the place was nearly empty- 1 other table when we arrived-and we could sit anywhere.

Nobody greeted us as we walked in. There were workers standing around and 1 table occupied. We found a table and sat- assumed it's a seat yourself which it was. A woman came a bit later with tap water and then brought menus. She was pleasant.

We used a coupon. Many places , when you get coupons they are trying to get more business. Most places have really impressed me or made me want to come back- a joint I never knew of or didn't know if it was good- buy a coupon- go- have great service and meal and come again........NOT here. I will not be back. Completely turned off.

The food was OK, service pretty bad, attitude I could do without. Did not seem clean. The person who seemed to be the manager was unprofessional and looked dirty and was rude.

NOT good for groups. They could not get it together for our little party of 2.

No sides available. I saw mushrooms and brussel sprouts for pizzas so asked if they can make a side or add some to a salad......they said no, they are already prepared just for the pizza. That sounds not too fresh to me- but I could definitely be wrong.

Ordered a salad as an entree with extra aspapragus, they gave me extra hearts of palm. Didn't complain, they were having an off day. My friends meal (a breakfast pizza) came 40 min later. 40 min later. Yep, 40 min later. They said she was in the pizza cue with all the delivery people. Really? I will say she liked her pizza.

My salad was OK. I got one to go. I threw it away at home. Looked laced with E.coli. WIlted and gross.

Wilted arugula. Few swipes of soggy cheese......7$ salad it is not
