Q:
Are they even open, keep trying to call but just says "user busy"?
A:
I went last week and they were open. They have been open this entire time so I don't see why they would be closed now.

Got plate lunch??
We have two L&L locations in Roseville, the other one on Sunrise Avenue. I think this is the better location of the two. A counter service chain restaurant that offered delicious island flavors of Hawai'i that come in a plate lunch with rice, macaroni salad, and aloha-infused hot entrées... and Saimin too. My favorite is the BBQ Beef or the BBQ Short Ribs... I also tried their Spam Musubi.
I've dined-in before and have also done take out. They have flat screens mounted inside the restaurant for your viewing pleasure while having lunch/dinner or linner LoL! The place is bright with natural lighting and also clean. Everything is consistently delicious and service is always friendly.
If we crave for some Hawaiian plate lunch and we can't make it to Hawai'i we go to L&L for some island food. Food is always served with a touch of Aloha.

Had to come on here to give a bad review, which I never want to do. But this is the worst food I've paid for in quite some time. My son and I got the food home and tried each item and were stunned at how vastly different and worse it was than the other Hawaiian BBQ place we go to. We did not know it would be or could be this much worse at the competition.
After we had tried it all, we were laughing because it was so ridiculous. Even the teriyaki sauce was horrible. I offered to let him just set the plate down and we would go back out for Ono Hawaiian BBQ and he said no, he won't waste food. But he did say, "We've been robbed." That about sums it up. The fish is abysmal. The chicken was sad. I don't understand why anyone would come here. I never will again.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - Apr 8, 2024
I've had the pleasure of visiting various L&L Hawaiian Barbecue spots, and I'm always impressed by the remarkable consistency in the quality of their food. No matter which location I find myself at, the standard of service is reliably excellent. The food is fresh, demonstrating their commitment to preparing meals to order.

Reminder to self to not come to this location. Maybe I'm spoiled by the florin/Stockton blvd location but this one is super stingy on sauce and scoops! And slightly more expensive. No thanks!

Worker cleaning his mouth with his bare hands (yuck) twice and also brushing his hair with his hands and going straight to handle food without washing his hands or caring about being clean or caring even 1 percent. I let the cashier and owner (?) know and was quickly refunded. Never ever coming back as the employee laughed and washed his hands for a few seconds and the elder Asian employee trying to say to me in English -don't worry don't worry- I'm like it's my health and I have to worry. So nasty!!!!!

L&L is a staple for me. Came here for dinner, wasn't too busy. The workers were friendly. Got a curry katsu plate and the portions were big. Idk what's up with this location but their portions are bigger than my local one and it was only $12? I'm pretty sure my local one is more expensive but maybe it's just my bad memory. Regardless food hit, workers were cool, and the price was cheap

Why!? Why do I think things will ever get better with these folks!? I even tipped more than usual (for take out) in good faith. All just to show up at the time I was given and have the lady give me some ridiculous blank stare. As she is meddling with her tablet, she says to me "Oh ok, I'll send this back for you" ..excuse me? I just held by breath and hoped that she meant she would send the message back that I'd arrived to pick up my order that was ready as they said it would be.
Nope. She sent it back to start being made. They'd received my order more than 35 mins ago.
Last time they left out the sauces. What even is this? Have a little self respect as business owners.Helpful 12Thanks 3Love this 6Oh no 3Business owner information

Hi Ana!
We sincerely apologize for the experience you had. This does not align with our standards and we appreciate it for bringing this to our attention. I will definitely get in touch with the team to check what happened.
LeanJun 26, 2022Previous reviewWhat a shame.. ordered via their app and realized a few things once we arrived at home.
The "Lighter Option" is a marketing scam. You will pay extra just for the title when you can get the regular bbq chicken and select rice and salad for LESS MONEY. They are the EXACT SAME DISHES.
Handed hungry kids their plates to have them tell me that there was no sauce for their Katsu chicken orders.
Opened my "Lighter option" plate to find that the dressing I had requested was not in any of the bags.
With the low carb plate you are asked how you want your eggs cooked, we had selected well done and they came back over easy/medium.
What a disappointment after inflated prices.. tipping.. etc. guess we will be trying out the other local Hawaiian spots.Jul 11, 2020Previous reviewIt had been just over three years since we had eaten here. I'm surprised I didn't review them then but my mind was elsewhere. My dad had just passed away and we chose L&L as one of our 3 locations that we chose to cater from, for his Celebration of Life event.
This time around we ordered the grilled chicken plates as well as the Kalua pork plate. Everything was yummy.
Service over the phone was fast and friendly. Pick up went off without a hitch. Definitely recommend them for your Hawaiian BBQ cravings. - Alain B.South Los Angeles, Los Angeles, CA12204Feb 17, 2024
Chicken katsu and fries are my go to order each time, perfect for a weeknight meal when you don't feel like cooking

I was craving something like fried cabbage and automatically thought of L&L because they have kalua pork with cabbage. I've only had this type of dish in Hawaii once before so I decided to go with this meal when I usually get the short ribs. My youngest love the spam musubi and ordered some to go for myself and my older kids. My husband got the bbq mix plate. I also love the Hawaiian Sun drinks. Just takes me back to Hawaii when I lived in Oahu. I will definitely come back.

L&L is a veteran in the Hawaiian bbq game. But they haven't changed a bit over the years and that might be their downfall. The portions are great and the food overall is tasty but the OIL content is just so dang high.
The service here was ok. Nothing special. They were pretty busy with "delivery" orders but they were nice people.
The ambiance is a aged and kinda greasy looking. Tables and chairs you don't really want to sit on but you do anyway cause you gotta eat. Floor kinda dingy.
The beef is great but it's just so greasy. Same can be said about the fish and shrimp. Good tasting but greasy.
Its 2023 so hopefully they'll look to make a small change.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0
