This review is solely for Jodi, my bartender. She is amazing and very attentive. We only go to Kona when she is working the well. She makes our visits fun and we're always looking to come back. The vibe is very different when she isn't there. This location has had lots of turnover, but she's always been the main event.
Happy Hour is the best time to visit although recently the selections have decreased and the portions are smaller. I realize this this is a prime location. however, they should be able to do better so they can compete with other nearby restaurants.

First and foremost the food was good. Pad Thai was tasty. You could taste all the flavors. I wish it had had a little more sauce on it. Noodles were great as far as texture. Tasted very fresh.
Lovely restaurant. Great vibe. A place I would head for a night out. Went today for lunch with the family. We were checked on several times. Drinks were refilled. One of the Sous Chefs even came by to see how things were.

Unfortunately, after a long pause from going here, not much has changed. The entrees were good, however I can't remember the last time we went here and got our appetizers on time.
Drinks came out fairly quick, but the server didn't have a lot of knowledge about spirits or substitutes. I believe he accommodated but who knows.
We ordered two apps, and sure enough, 15 minutes later, our entrees came out. The server "lost" the app ticket, so it never got ordered. I don't buy that, not because it doesn't happen but because it's happened multiple times here. They took one off and comped the other. The one we got was less than appealing or the amount it should have been.
As noted, entrees were good but it didn't make up for a lack of attention or detail I'd expect with a place that wants to be in the mid to upper tier restaurant conversation (especially based on their prices).
I'm yet again done with Kona for quite some time, such a sad state considering this place used to be a predictable and wonderful experience.

Kona Grill ManagementDec 11, 2019Previous reviewLove the Kona grill, one of our better Asian / Sushi / American restaurant mixes in the area. Their happy hour is pretty good and honored throughout the restaurant from 2-6 M-F.
I also love that that they have a great kids bento box which provides plenty of options while providing the staples most toddlers / younger children want.
The service is hit or miss at times but luckily we got Chris last night who is unbelievable! The guy has a knack for serving, plain and simple. He was busy as usual but we felt taken care of.
Food was great, we went full sushi dinner with 5 rolls and some sashimi. Jalapeños were very spicy last night so be careful if you have them and aren't into hot stuff. - 17685Apr 10, 2024Updated review
Kona has gone downhill since I started coming here years ago, they've changed some of their ingredients on things and I preferred the way they had it before. For example the Kona sliders used to have a sauce on them along with crispy stringy onions and it was delicious, now it's just grilled onions and cheese. My bread was also hard so I had to pick around it. I love Jodie the bartender, she is my favorite person who works here and always takes great care of me. I also love the atmosphere of Kona, it feels kind of beachy, yet elegant. I will probably still come back and try other items off their menu as it has changed a lot over the last couple of years.

We came for lunch, and we got sat right away. The place wasn't too busy for a Sunday afternoon. Ivan was our server, and he spoke Spanish, so my boyfriend was able to communicate with him and get his questions answered regarding the menu.
The kids got the pad thai noodles and Las vegas roll, and I got the rainbow roll. My boyfriend got the French dip. We also ordered the calamari and it was not what we expected it had way too many peppers and not enough calamari and the little calamari that it did have was very chewy not worth what I paid for that. The chicken shrimp wraps were just right. I will definitely be getting them again. My roll was fresh and delicious. My daughter's Las vegas roll is her favorite, and she loves it from only here. The noodles look delicious that he give them a 10 out of 10. The French dip it was good. The ambiance was good. Over we were satisfied with our experience, our server was amazing, and he was polite and very attentive. Sep 20, 2022Previous reviewWe came in after Sunday service and I have never had any issues bringing my service canine. She is a certified service Dog for my 18 year Disabled daughter. So because we had the dog they didn't care she was Cerified service dog just the fact that she was a dog we where pretty much forced to sit in the patio. I would of gone somewhere else but my mother is visiting from Mexico and she really wanted to come here. I am not very happy about how this was handled I have never been put in the patio just because of my Cerified service dog. After we where sat down we had order drinks and I am assuming he was a manager he approached us and asked how we where doing and I let him know we didn't want to sit in the patio he offer to move us to an indoor table that was close by the door so Elora could be by us but still outside the main floor. It was a compromise and we were okay with that.
Now the service Devon was very sweet and polite she was attempting and got our food and drinks at a good time and manner no complaints that.
Over all our experience was good.Sep 5, 2019Previous reviewOkay last time I was here we sat out in the patio and I got gum stuck to my pants the manager was so sweet and caring. I was so embarrassed but they made me feel good about how the situation was handled. Today we came back my daughter loves the vegas roll and I like that it's on their happy hour. I gotta say that I do love their happy hour. So for a single mom who her kids love eating sushi happy hour is the best. So far I haven't had any issues with a long wait for a table. My only issue on this visit was the flys but hey they are every where, and my chair spot I got bumped a few times with the ice bucket and the glass skate carrier but Chesney was so sweet and nice attitude with kids and she paid attention to us. My kid is on a wheelchair so sometimes it's hard finding a good table that is not gonna be blocking the way. So today was a good experience. I do love Kona Grill I do wish you guys bring the pesto pasta back tho.

Tried this place with cautious optimism, since the Yelp reviews are all kinda mixed. But we got a reservation for Christmas lunch, and it was pretty decent! The prime rib was thick so it was a good value, but it wasn't the most amazing prime rib, which is fine. The miso whipped potatoes that accompanied it were pretty good. I liked the crunchy spicy tuna rolls and their fries. My husband enjoyed his fried chicken sandwich, and his aunt liked her burger. Service was attentive, so overall a good experience. We'll probably try them again for their happy hour menu.

They were out of tuna and replaced with a fishy salmon. The shrimp tacos were good. Waitress was kind. The wait for food after ordering took a while and some orders were not correct. Atmosphere was good.

Kona Grill is one of those chains where you know what you're going to get, but this location falls way short.
The first problem was the server gave us the wrong beer. He gave us a snippy attitude when we told him but I didn't relent. It took another 20 minutes to get the right beer, then the server didn't even apologize for his earlier attitude, he just dropped off the beer and rolled his eyes. ** Sorry dude, but if we are paying $8 for a pint of Lagunitas IPA, we are not gonna drink a Bud Light.
Secondly, we ordered chicken from the kid's bento box and specifically asked it to be unseasoned. Of course, it came out with some lemon seasoning!
My wife had a spicy tuna roll, and given the price, it was way overpriced. You could go to Albertsons across the street and get better fish for half the price.

Kyle was a very tentative server. We love the food here and come often for their lunch service. Can't beat the service, food and value!
