I have to stop by every yarn shop I run across. I buy yarn with no particular project in mind just because I love the color or texture. I love to be able to paw through my stash when I feel like doing some knitting or crocheting. My husband thinks I have too much yarn but I really don't think that's possible. I adhere to the belief that the woman with the most yarn wins. This shop rivals and beats shops I've gone to in major metropolitan areas. The selection was amazing and frankly, staggering. I'm still thinking about some of the fabulous yarns I saw today. The two ladies in the shop were personable and friendly. Their 'shop dog' is also a joy. I was calmly greeted at the door by the adorable black and white dog who was perfectly happy to stroll the shop with me. I don't shop downtown much anymore because there isn't much to lure me. I have a couple of antique shops and Northwest Outdoors as my downtown Roseburg favs. Knotty Lady just made that list today and I know I'll be back! If you love/like great yarn, this place is a 'don't miss'. Wow!!!!!!

The people in the shop were very helpful and generous with their time during a brief stop. They didn't mind I was there after hours and even gave me a branded retractable measuring tape I still use. I'm sorry they are closed now, I was looking forward to another visit.

**CLOSED** I stopped by this place in Roseburg. It was closed, gone! COVID did a number on Roseburg. Many shops along the street were closed.
Yelp won't let me post a review without a Star, so I'm posting one star even though the place may not have deserved five.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Lenticular B.Eugene, OR1751Jan 5, 2021
Awesome gem in old town Roseburg! Large shop with an extensive inventory of popular yarns. Very helpful and knowledgeable staff. If you're anywhere near central Oregon, Knotty Lady is well worth a stop. If you're getting cabin covid fever, it's a quick jaunt down I5 from Eugene. Lots of space so social distancing is not an issue.
They are missing a few yarn brands like Alchemy and Farmer's Daughter, but they've got plenty of Malabrigo, Shibui, Zen, Brown Sheep, MadTosh.
One downside is that they're missing a customer restroom - significant in that the *entire* old downtown (read tourist destination) doesn't have a public restroom. If you're coming in from a distance make sure to stop at a gas station before visiting.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jessica S.Costa Mesa, CA104515Aug 20, 2018
TLDR: smells like dog poo, and staff was rude. Good selection if you don't care about the vibes or smell.
Let me start out by saying I love to crochet so while traveling through this cute little town, it tickled my heart to see such a great big yarn store with such a beautiful selection of yarns and not to mention the clever shop name, but my compliments stop there. The place smelled like dog poo and there was indeed a small (very cute) dog that greeted us at the door. Since we are traveling from upstate, we brought our nice camera that could not be left in the car for obvious reasons. Upon entering, my animal loving gf got distracted by the cute floof of a dog that greeted us and did not finish zipping our camera safely into its bag. After the dog was no longer interested in us, she proceeded to zip up the camera and was immediately confronted by an employee or the owner about taking pictures of the merchandise when the camera wasn't even out? Not sure which person the rudeness came from but maybe a little tact was in order?? You could have handled that better and lost a sale because of it.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jennifer L.Central LA, West Hollywood, CA82182Aug 23, 2019
I love this yarn shop. It's huge, has an amazing selection of sale yarn and ridiculously helpful and friendly staff. Next time I come to Roseburg, I probably should leave my credit card at home! If you're a knitter and haven't found the Knotty Lady, you gotta go!

THIS is a wonderful yarn shop nestled in the historic downtown section of Roseburg. The shop has a wide variety of product, nicely displayed. I could spend a couple of hours here easily. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable.
If you knit, crochet, or weave, this is a MUST SEE if you are in the area. You won't be disappointed. Can't wait to come back, but they also sell on-line! Could be addictive!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Kat S.Tucson, AZ0474Sep 2, 2016
What a fabulous yarn shop! Super selection at all price points, weights, colors and fibers. Beautiful yarns, I'm drooling. I will definitely come back next time we come to Crater Lake or go past Roseburg.

I first went into this shop last year for some yarn to keep me busy and outta trouble while on a loooong RV trip across the continent. I found the inventory to be reasonable and the expertise to be wide, pleantiful and freely given. Nice folks. Now about nine months later, the shop has moved, gotten larger, sports an incredible inventory and again, still has nice people. I signed-up for an advance knitting class and am looking forward to it. Cute little give-aways based upon the amount of purchase or signing up for the newletter. I recommend you visit - spacious, airy, nice merchandizing and did I mention - nice people??
