      OG FISH TACO!

Seriously, the best fish taco in SD. But everything is great! You can't go wrong with any seafood taco or burrito and the ceviche is amazing too. The taco Tuesday special is the best deal around. The habanera salsa (orange) has a good kick but is very flavorful and don't forget extra limes.

The staff is very friendly. They can take a little while during busy times because everything is made to order in a small truck. But I've had luck calling ahead at (619) 341-7397.

There is limited parking and no seating so take it to go. Civita Park, Fashion Valley Mall and Mission Valley Mall are all very close.

If you visit SD you have to try. You'll probably come back before you leave.

Got takeout from here last night, first time trying Kikos. I understand it is a food truck and was a Friday night, but we, among 15 other people, waited outside for almost 50 minutes for 4 OG fish tacos and shrimp ceviche.

The lady working the window was very nice and they handed out free broth/soup that was a nice treat while waiting. I think the OG fish tacos were okay, not worth the wait IMO. Too much breading and not enough fish.

Ceviche had a nice flavor, but the shrimp's coloring and appearance looked a little weird. Salsa variety was cool and a lot very spicy which I loved. I don't know if I'd try again.

Kiko's Place Seafood : "B- or 3 stars" meaning "Not bad, reasonable choice if in the area, and it's difficult to find a better restaurant."

Sunny, mid-60's offered the perfect climate to stand in line for some street tacos. Hurray to the weather tax!

Tacos are always messy. Sanitizer right in front of the food pick-up window, self-serve paper towels beside the condiment trays - kudos to the well thought out design - only adding to my high expectations given the reviews!

OG fish tacos (C+ ) : Great name! I saw the big piece of fish, the very generous serving of cabbage & pico de gallo, and expected to be blown away! The ingredients tasted fresh, but two issues: 1) I wanted a fish taco, not a breading taco. 2) Bland flavor. I added salsa and that obviously helped, but come on, it's called the "OG fish taco" from a highly rated food truck! My personal opinion, and bite me if you disagree, but I think I enjoy Rubio's fish taco more, and it's not even in the same galaxy as my current favorite fish taco, the El Pescado at Craft & Taco Lounge.

Spicy grilled shrimp taco (B- ) : The flavor on this was way way way better than the OG fish. The shrimp was fresh, grilled with an enticing smoky flavor, the spicy sauce mixed with the onion and cheese was totally on point. But who cooked the shrimp? Penny took a bite first and said "if I cooked this shrimp at home, both you and Cadence (my daughter) would totally be on my case about rubbery shrimp." And she's right! So sad, with well cooked shrimp, this would be at least a B+ taco.

Garlic octopus taco (B- ) : I ate it without adding salsa to ensure the octopus wasn't overpowered with "stuff." The octopus needed more seasoning, and more char. The pico de gallo and cabbage, like in the OG fish taco, tasted bland. Actual chunks of grilled garlic and a bit more salt would have gone a long way, but as is, for $9, it was just "okay."

Fun experience, I may try it again if in the area, but not a destination spot.

      Food Grading Scale:

A+: Life changing. You remember these bites for the rest of your life. Occurs very infrequently and when it does, you'll know it. You don't even know how to further improve it with a magic wand.
A: Wow! Excellent. You felt happy biting into it. You're considering whether it's life changing, but know it misses the mark.
A-: Very very good. Whatever it is, it's one of the best, but you can think of further improvements.
B+: Very good. Very enjoyable, not to the point of "impressive," but worth revisiting.
B: Good. A solid example of whatever it is, offering enjoyment, but not enough for making an effort to get.
B-: Not bad. If in a pinch to eat something, this offers some enjoyment and is a reasonable option.
C+: Mediocre plus. Pretty average, but with one or two positive characteristics you can identify.
C: Mediocre. "Meh". Very average. Not bad enough to make you angry, but nothing good about it at all.
C-: Bad. You recognize it for what it is, but a very bad rendition. Your foodie self is a little pissed, and feeling like a dummy you ordered it.
D: Awful. Whoever cooked it should be ashamed of themself. Somehow, you still managed to swallow a bite.
F: WTF is this? Inedible. One chew, you had to spit it out. Fire the chef.

3 combo specials consisting of 1 OG taco and 1 shrimp taco- 19$ later for 6 amazing tacos and free fish soup while we wait.... I was so happy. The sauces they offer to put on top of your tacos and the pickled red onion- chefs kiss!
The OG taco was our favorite because the fish was so soft and flaky, the breading wasn't too thick, as with the shrimp taco the breading seemed on the thinker side.
Still very delicious and we left very happy! Will be coming back for sure! A great experience!

So glad I found this truck serving really good seafood tacos. They are parked on the street and there is no seating area except for a green electric box.

I got seafood mix and spicy fish tacos for $19 total. These tacos are huge and they give you a lot of filling. Fish and seafood were fresh and flavorful, especially with the spicy sauce. The fried shrimp and fish tacos were also sooo good. Your order comes with seafood consomme and tortilla chips. One of the best taco truck experiences I've had.

It takes a while for them to make the food but I won't complain because the tacos were freshly made and piping hot. Dont forget to get the smoked jalapenos that taste really sweet to eat with your tacos.

Now these are some good fish tacos!

When in SD you must get fish tacos and after trying them out at Kiko's I can see why they are so popular and I'm pretty sure I found my new go to place. I'm not a SD native but it seems as though everyone has there choice for best place to go to for fish tacos and like everything it's all relative.

I found Kiko's via Yelp (of course) and saw all the positive feedback as well as there general location indicating they are usually parked at the same place. There was a small line and I found parking right in back of the truck. Service was fine and better than I've had at some sit down restaurants. I had to go with the OG fish tacos and these were some of the best I've had. Nicely sized, freshly fried and very aesthetically pleasing. They look like a fish taco is supposed to look, in my opinion.

Like other similar places, there were several different self serve options for sauce. Some creamy and some not. I'm not even sure what they all were, but they all tasted good on the taco. I will say I always find the creamy ones a little sweet and the not creamy ones more spicy, making for a great combo. It all worked so well with the taco. Great textures and flavors coming together for a perfect bite.

Be prepared to eat in your car or under the canopy, on top of the power box. This is a food truck after all. You should be able to find street parking and if not for some reason you could just parking in a nearby parking lot (like at Jack in the Box) and walk over.

There are many other options on the menu which are common such as burritos, ceviche, and different protein options. Be sure to get the OG fish tacos though. Oh and there were different weekday options which is cool.

I can see myself coming back here for fish tacos every time I'm in SD.

      Cheers!

It was a wait for my meal but it was a Friday and it's lent season so made sense. Waited a little over 35 minutes for my order. It was very good though and the lady at the front taking orders is super helpful and sweet. There is a station to get chili sauces and extra toppings for your meals. As well some trash cans. There are no tables or chairs but many use what is available on the side of the street to eat their food. I took my order to go.

I'm drooling writing this review. My boyfriend brought me here on our day trip to San Diego because Baja tacos are a must when you're in town! Kiko's tacos are MASSIVE. As someone with a big eyes and a small appetite, three tacos was too much... and I would still get them again.

You gotta get the OG fish tacos 10/10 for only $3.50! Crazy good deals. The crispy fish and refreshing toppings is to die for.

I also recommend the garlic octopus over the spicy octopus tacos, better flavor in my opinion. The price is like 2-3 OG fish tacos, but for the amount of octopus they generously give, it's good!

And because I love mussels and never see it, I had to the get mussels taco that came with 8 whole green-lipped mussels.

Everyone talks about the consommé, it's really so sweet of them to give that to waiting guests.

I loved it here, can't wait to come back. BTW, they have specials everyday and on Tuesdays, you can get three OG fish tacos for only $6.99. On Sundays, you get raw oysters for only $1.50!

This place is definitely a hidden gem! I've driven past this place a lot but never thought to try it. I'm so glad I finally did and will be back for more!

Fish Taco - 10/10, the fish was crunchy and fresh

Spicy Shrimp Taco - 10/10, the seasoning is amazing! Super flavorful and delicious

Mixed Seafood Taco - 100/10, the portion size is crazy! For $10 you get a mussel and a bunch of seafood in the taco. This was honestly the size of 3 tacos and took me a while to finish

Consome - 10/10, the broth us amazing and they were handing them out for free! Perfect for the cold weather

Customer service was amazing, food was made to order and tasted fresh and delicious. Will definitely be a regular here :)

First off, the truck is located behind Fashion Valley Gas. It took me a while to find the actual location, but it was worth it.

Absolutely delicious tacos. I ordered the grilled fish tacos, while they seemed pricey, they really loaded them up with pico de gallo, cheese, and sour cream. They also had some pickled vegetables and other condiments you could add on.

P.S you have to try the seafood consommé they offer while you wait, it is so flavorful and warms you up.
