This was one of the best Middle Eastern culinary experiences that I have ever had! The beautiful Afghani artwork and tapestries decorating the walls gives you an authentic experience and a charming ambience.

Fardin was kind enough to invite me, and his sister Asma and colleague Bakhtiar took great care of us. We started with the Afghani Mantu and Naan. Both we're absolutely delicious!

Then, we moved on to the entrees, which included the Rack of Lamb Plate and Ghemeih Plate. The Lamb was seasoned to perfection with garlic and peppercorns and tasted absolutely exquisite! The Gheimeh was full of flavor with Afghani saffron, which has a more bold flavor compared to Persian saffron.

For dessert, we tried the Honey Cake, which is a layered cheesecake with honey glazed crust. It was surprisingly not too sweet, and it perfectly hit the spot with some Afghani chai. Overall, this was an amazing experience that I hope all of San Diego has an opportunity to enjoy just as we did!

We greatly enjoyed our experience here for lunch! First, I must thank and commend Ben for providing incredible service.

The restaurant was bright and clean. Ordering via phone was fairly seemless. The food came out promptly - in massive portions and cooked to order. The pot of milk tea was rich and creamy without being too sweet. Flavors and textures galore.

    A wonderful restaurant.

Super friendly service with delicious food.
We had the lamb dumplings, samsa, house laghman and .
Our meal was very yummy and satisfying. We'd definitely go back to try new things.

We had a slice of the honey cake. It was like a dense layer cake that tasted like graham crackers and thin layers of dense cream cheese or something. I thought it would taste more like honey. I'm sure a lot of people love this but I thought it was okay. Probably wouldn't get it again.

Some of the best Mediterranean around! Service was really nice and welcoming and the ambiance was relaxing. The saffron chicken kabob was extremely tender and went well with the sauce. Just be prepared to wait a little because everything is made fresh.

I've passed by this restaurant so many times on the way to the Forum Coffeehouse. I was always curious about what was Uyghur cuisine. Was it Chinese? Uzbek? Turkish? I had no idea.
I do read about the oppression of the Uyghur people by the Chinese and how they struggle with movement within their region of the world.
My partner has a MSG sensitivity, so I'm always careful about where I recommend, so when I got to the front door to look at the menu I was very happy to see "No MSG used".
The server was very helpful and friendly advising a few items before we ordered.
Food was delicious, seasoned well. We ordered Samsa's, which is similar to a piroshki, except backed.
I'm looking forward to coming back and trying more of the menu!

Delicious food and friendly staff. I would give a 5 stars if the food came out quicker. we waited for 30 min for just two dishes. The chicken kabob was a bit too dry. It was well seasoned though. Nothing special about the rice. The side salad was typical. The noodle was amazing. Quite unique taste for the sauce. Very recommended. The restaurant is spacious. It was a bit cold because they left the door opened. You can order on the app or in person. The price was reasonable.

I've been wanting to check this place out and I'm so happy I finally did!

This place can get busy but the service is fast and you wouldn't have to wait for too long. Luckily we came right before dinner rush, around 6 on a Saturday but within minutes there was a wait.

Since it was our first time we ordered a lot of different items, the samsas and dumplings were ordered for an appetizer. We loved the dumplings, it comes with a small amount of chili sauce. They were super flavorful and surprisingly I didn't think it needed any sauces besides that. The Samsa were a mince meat pastry that were also really good but probably wouldn't order again. I would recommend getting it to try if you haven't had it yet.

For main course we got the laghman with lamb and the plov lamb pieces. Both dishes were super yummy and flavorful. The noodles were fresh and handpulled. The rice was more of a sticky sweet rice but it tasted really good with the lamb.

We also got an order of the milk tea. They give you a huge pot and it's enough for 4-6 people. You can either get it in sweet or salty. We got it in the sweet and it was subtle but great for sipping on.

Though you don't normally think about it but there are many different types of Chinese cuisine, Cantonese, Szechuan, Hunan, ect.  Kroran Uyghur (pronounced wee-ger) is something quite different than you've experienced, it comes from a region thats located in the Taklamakan desert along the eastern part of the silk road.  The further west you traveled out of China the cuisine started changing and started having more spices and having more middle eastern influences.  This is that cuisine; halal Chinese food!  Yes Middle eastern spices and techniques, meats, and handmade noodles.  Sort of Mongolian, sort of middle eastern, Kebabs, nan, noodles, a bit of everything.

We started with the green beans, they were delicious! Very garlicky and nice texture, I think it rivals that of Din Tai Fung, an absolute must!

We got the House Laghman hand pulled noodles, comes with beef, diced bell peppers, onions, green beans, cabbage, and tomato in a thin sauce.  The noodles had a nice texture but i wasn't too much of a fan of this one. Too wet maybe.

Spicy fried noodles with lamb - Hand pulled noodles, chives, red and green bell peppers and dried chilis.  The lamb was really tender and had a good texture, it was more of a dry dish didn't have a sauce like the house laghman but the spices were nicely cooked into the noodles which i liked.  The spice wasn't too bad i'd say it was mild to moderate spicy.  I highly recommend this dish, the owner also said it was his favorite too.

The Goosh Naan a meat filled pie, ground beef, onions and bell peppers, it was okay, the flavor was there, i just wish the pie part was more dry and crispy.  I'd try the Samsa or dumplings next time.

For dessert i had a slice of the honey cake, it was denser than i had imagined, but very tasty.  Not overly sweet and had a familiar taste that i can't quite put my finger on.

Service was very friendly and food came out in a timely manner.  I was excited to try a different and unique type of cuisine i highly recommend the green beans and spicy fried noodles.  Next time im gonna try the Samsa, Big plate chicken stew, and cumin beef.  I bet their kung pow chicken and beef is a little different too.

I think there are really good dishes here and some ok ones. If you order the right combination of very good dishes you'll have a 4-5 star experience. Go with green beans and spicy fried noodles, you won't be disappointed.
