My favorite park in the area. Fully paved for east stroller rides. Golden eagles live here in the spring, lush vegetation, great playground for kids, Mountain Views. I only wish you could paddle board or kayak on this lake! That would be the icing on the cake!

We went to look at the Xeriscape garden for ideas for our front yard which we plan to convert from grass to Xeriscape. We got lots of great ideas. If you considering adding drought-tolerant plants to your yard, this is a must visit.

We then walked the 1 mile around the "lake" (more of a pond than lake). Very relaxing.

Cute park located near a lake in a nice location. 2 separate playground areas. One for older kids and the other for toddlers. Has tables and benches for a family picnic and a descent large grass area for laying out. Has a parking lot with portable johns. Saw ppl walking in the area too, perhaps there's a walking trail, although I didn't scope out the entirety. I'll definitely be back.

Easy parking, nice path around the lake for a walk/run, and in a quiet + safe area! Love this park even if it is on the small side. Simple is better! Plus, it has a great view of the sunset, lots of benches to sit around the lake, and places to set up a hammock. Love this park!

This is a great park! We stopped here on the way to the airport to let the kids expel some energy and it was awesome! They have a great walking path around the lake as well as two playgrounds - one for bigger kids and one for smaller. Everyone enjoyed it!

What a great spot. I used to take my Sharpei here (he's since passed) before giving him a bath at the dogwash down the road near Wadsworth -- you know, to tire him out :)

It was always me that got tired -- The dog was always up for 2 or 3 times around. Beautiful views, great homes around the lake with lovely yards. Ducks and geese abound, and lots of friendly people. It reminds me now of happy times with my doggie. Check it out you won't regret it!

Very nice park, nice big play area. The main playset says ages 5 to 12 but my son who is 2 wanted to play on that one. Alot of the stuff is a bit to high for my taste just from a toddlers perspective (i know 5 to 12). Beautiful lake and cute little garden area.

Been taking my boys here regularly since spring 2012 and is currently the favorite in our general vicinity (~10 minute drive or less.)

This park is about as perfect as it gets for families. There's a large playground with separate equipment for little ones with a swing set in between that has 6 normal swings plus 2 baby swings.

Note for children or parents with disabilities: Equipment is set in wood chips thus making it not especially accessible, especially for wheelchairs (unassisted.) The nearest park with comparable amenities that I'm aware of with good ADA compliance is Lions Park in Golden (1300 10th Street).

There is a very large open flat field directly beside the playground that is perfect for football, frisbee, and kite flying. It could easily accommodate at least 2 family-sized football games with room to spare.

There is one large covered ramada (with 8 metal picnic tables and at least 2 grills, as I recall) near the parking lot on the south side.

Kendrick Lake is very nice. It is ringed with trees and vegetation along nearly the entire shoreline and a wide paved path that circles the whole lake. There is a good size platform on the south shore that was (re)constructed in 2013 that goes about 30 feet into the lake and is very safe for even the littlest children. And there is a small peninsular feature adjacent to the parking lot with a bench looking west out over the lake.

There is a moderately-sized exhibition garden with unpaved walking paths at the southeast corner of the park property right next to the parking lot. It's a nice diversion for older children or grandparents perhaps, with small signs denoting the various fauna. Little kids like to run through there since it's beside the playground, so don't expect peace and quiet here.

There is always a steady stream of walkers, joggers, bicyclists, and people walking their dogs around the lake. And the time around homecoming/prom is entertaining as teenagers and parents from the various nearby schools show up for photos.

The only issue that may be considered a downside is the significant number of migratory Canada geese that make an impressive mess with their droppings. (Seriously, for a few months out of the year you absolutely would not want your baby crawling through the grass.)

Also, this is not the place for an intimate, secluded rendezvous although there are a couple places you could feasibly take in a little romantic picnic west of the playground and catch the sunset from the aforementioned platform.

This is a clean, popular destination for Lakewood families yet it's never been what I'd consider "too" busy.

This is my go to running spot when my neighborhood is still icy to taken in a run. They really take care of the 1 mile path around the lake. During the winter, it is always nicely packed down with limited icy spots. This is also a great park to take the kids to play or to sit around and enjoy the scenery. The park is always busy but not overly busy that it is bothersome. And the best part is the views are so great you forget you are in the burbs!

Another one of my go-to parks as a nanny!

This is a gorgeous park. There is a one mile trail that loops around the beautiful lake through trees and over little bridges. We always see geese and ducks swimming or mulling around near the playgrounds. The views of the Front Range are gorgeous! There is a little boardwalk on the south side of the lake where you can walk out on the water a bit for a better look at the vegetation and wildlife. Watch out for goose poop!

We go here for picnics a lot. Not only is there a lot of shade for a spot with a blanket in the grass, AND a shelter providing many picnic tables, but there are a couple cute little paths leading out to secluded benches near the lake! These are right as you enter the park from the parking lot. We either sit on the bench or park a blanket on the dirt under the shade. The other day when we were eating lunch a baby duck came real close to us, the baby I nanny for loved this.

The playground itself is also awesome. I love when parks have two separate sets of equipment to separate the little rug rats from the big ones! The two sides are separated by swings, 3 big kid swings and 3 baby swings. There is plenty to do with slides and climbing equipment on both sides.

The parking lot is huge and there are bathrooms right there. There is also a little garden featuring beautiful plants and flowers including descriptions of what type they are.
