Over priced and lanes break down. Keep in mind that shoe rental does not include socks even though it says shoes and socks. Staff isn't super friendly. Every time I make the trip over to come here I wish that I had gone to the one in Volcano instead.
I am amending my stars to 3 stars due to Summer's kind response. And we did appreciate that the socks have bowling balls and pins on them, we just would have brought our own if the online reservation had not been confusing.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1Business owner information

Hello Lindy, I’m sorry you are disappointed. All bowling lanes need service and it will pause while a mechanic is working on it. A message goes to the front desk with total time and we comp that time, and some for the inconvenience, by the end of the session. Shoes are rental, and socks have little bowling balls and pins on them and are yours to take home. They have separate charges. The National bowling company makes the headings to our POS, but with online you can select each separately. Many people like to bring their own socks rather than purchasing them. I hope this clarifies. We will keep the step by step online booking info at the desk so people can remember how it flows to eliminate any confusion should this come up again.

There aren't many options on the island so it's nice that there is a bowling alley. I get it that it's difficult to find good help. These are both not valid reasons to have poor customer service and misleading pricing.
Food: we ordered a 16" pizza for $26. Already overpriced. We received a 12" pizza. Upon asking why we were given the wrong pizza it was explained to me by a very standoffish server "I'm sorry you didn't hear when we told you that we are out of 16" pizzas. The crust is much better and that is why we charge the higher price. "
Where do I start? First off the sorry was not a sorry. It was a demeaning interaction that was only mean to serve the server to save face.
Secondly the menu should change if you are out of something.
Thirdly charging $26 for a personal size pizza is crazy.
So we had no choice but to purchase another personal pizza for the birthday party because there was no other choice.

You made a mistake by not communicating the change properly. How about saying something like "we are sorry about the mix up. How can we make it right?" Then we could have discussed options. Now I have to call my bank and dispute - out of principal.
Our lane kept malfunctioning. For minutes at a time. The first instance I alerted the front desk and asked for more time because we were down for so long. They said sure. Only when I got back to the lane they added 4 minutes. We had been down for more than 10 already. The lane malfunctioned more. I asked again and was met with someone who acted as if I was being dishonest. I ended having to argue to get more time so we could finish our game.
1. Our lane was down for long periods
2. The bowling alley was more than half empty.
3. The attitude could have been totally different.
Imagine if the person at the front desk said something like "I'm sorry your lane keeps going down. I understand it's not just about the time you are losing. How can we make this right?" To which I would have replied "thanks! Can you please just add enough time so we can finish our game?"
It would have cost the alley nothing! And it would have made for a happy customer.
All a customer wants is what they are told they should be getting. Mistakes happen. Problems happen. It's not about those issues, it's about how you make them right.
I will think twice next time we have a birthday party. There are plenty of other places that would be happy with us spending $300 and not make us feel bad about it.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 1Business owner information

Hello Zenon, thanks for your comments. We are so sorry that your celebration was distracted by this negative experience! We wish we could have resolved this for you at the center. Our venders have been only able to provide 16 inch thin, so we have opted for a 12 inch thicker premium crust for the same price temporarily. We added a disclaimer of this temporary change to all printed and take out app menus and a sign at each of the registers last month when the supply issues began. The employees have been also explaining this to people at the time of order. We apologize if it wasn’t communicated as well at the time of transaction as we had thought. We had considered about pulling the item when the vender could no longer provide that size, but the feedback on the more expensive crust has been overwhelmingly positive this month.
We apologize for the price frustrations, we have them as well. The prices are based on how we can cover our costs and maintain the offerings. We are happy to refund any unconsumed food items if it isn’t what you expected.
If the bowling lanes are being fixed in the back due to issues that occurred on the lane while you are playing, we are happy to restore your time lost or, if it is a long fix, move you to another available lane. I'm just a tourist visiting, but I have a local friend on the island and she recommended this place to take my family. I was not disappointed. There's games, bowling, and food. It's really neat that you can get tickets for bowling. This was a nice touch bc after bowling, my son treated himself to a few Dino tattoos. Food is from a csfe and it's Hawaiian food!! The best bowling alley food you'll ever have. We enjoyed the kalua pork nachos!

Portions are good but the level grease would knock out a healthy young person. After a few bites from their flavorful fish and chips, the rest was dumped after taking 4 paper towels to wring out excess oil and yet the fries and fish were still oily. Sorely disappointed. I do not recommend the fish and chips or fried fish.

There is something that can happen if the temp is off where more oil absorbs. This may have been a single error in the kitchen, so I sincerely apologize this happened to you. My husband and I like to shoot pool and there are very few places that have pool tables. Every time we go one of the pool tables are broken and the one that works is slanted! To play the games you have to get tokens but most of the time the machines do not work to insert money, only a credit/debit card. We keep going back hoping that things will be fixed but they are not. Won't be going back anymore.

Hi Sherry! We don’t want to lose your businesses. Your review was a surprise - but helped call to our attention that some things were not reset properly after a large concert the night before, contributing to your frustration. I’d like to get you hooked up with some free games and a big apology. Pls message me. (One is the pool tables is still waiting for new pockets, so thats an order we are still waiting on, but the other should have been rebalanced and the token machine should not have been out of order.) Pro-tip, our pool tables take quarters! You can get change at the bar. We are going to add a sign explaining this as well as how to get help when you need it. Every time we are back home in Hawaii, we go here for their ramen. I did order their pizza but it was no different from a basic pizza, not bad. Stick with the ramen. The kids had fun bowling. Fun environment, and the employees are friendly.

It's 26.00 per person for a party and NO FOOD. Basically 3 hours of bowling - ONE lane is 6 people- so do the math. No drinks, no food, JUST shoes and bowling ...
Crazy. .. deeply disappointed
Sadly I emailed twice, was left on hold for 45
Minutes see photo and no type of deal was offered.

Hi Jessica! I’m so sorry for the disappointment. I can understand this. Running this type of tech and square footage in Hawaii is expensive. Yes, it works out to $8.16 per hour per person for for bowling during the premium music video cosmic hours. You could reduce the bowling part of the party to two hours to keep costs down. We also have creative ways to make things affordable for families using after school hours and we do scholarship kids from families or circumstances who would never be able to have a party. Tonight the bartender doesn't know how to make drinks. Absolutely rude to our group. It doesn't even put alcohol in our group's beverages. Would definitely not recommend this place for a company party. Bartender needs to learn what customer service is.

We apologize for not getting it right with the karaoke technical and service difficulties. We do have an auto calibrated system for pouring so there isn’t any way to have light pours. Their ticket counter is not accurate, shorted us about 40 tickets.

On the approaches, possibilities about your experience are that we had a new shipment of shoes last week that may feel different? We don't apply too much of the "sure slide" to approaches because we have to cater to a wide variety of skillsets, and senior league bowlers also get concerned when their shoes slide too much. We clean, buff and wax lanes daily. Hope to see you again, and we appreciate your business.
