I've driven by Jumbo multiple times and was always curious. After looking it up here on Yelp and seeing the pictures, I KNEW I had to try it!
I decided to order delivery on a Friday night. I was a little nervous about it given the distance I live, but food got to me quickly and was still PIPING HOT!
Everything was so good and I already can't wait to go back! This time to eat there, for sure. Definitely try the Mongolian Chicken if you decide to give it a shot. I can't stop thinking about it!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Dec 11, 2023
I've been eating a lot of Chinese food lately and this place did not disappoint. I got a couple items here. I got their #7 which is a combo which had General Tso's Chicken, Fried Shrimp, and Pork Friend Rice and it was all delicious! I appreciated that their General Tso's chicken actually had some decent heat. I also got their combination lo mein which was also very good! I would definitely recommend this place if you haven't tried it before.

The best Chinese in Portland! If you like traditional, tasty, crunchy not soggy Chinese in a traditional (read: old school) dining room, this is your spot. Service is quick and the owners are there helping out and are very friendly. Highly recommend the Mongolian Chicken, perfect amount of spice!

I love Jumbos. My family has been going here for years...service is always kind and friendly, they accommodate dishes to be vegan, portions are generous, and the actual location is interesting and unique, like a movie set, an old diner with pink and green seats. If you go in person they serve hot tea! A lovely touch I think :)
Our favorites are the cashew tofu, the Singapore noodles with tofu, the sesame tofu, and the eggplant.
Thank you, Jumbos, for being our affordable and delicious neighborhood and family spot!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0Jan 22, 2019Previous reviewVery thankful for this local spot. They are able to make so many dishes vegan! Portions are generous, service is kind and accommodating. Pink and mint green with marble top tables in diner style feel combined with foot traffic from enclosed gambling/bar scene next door creates an interesting scene. You can order jumbo food into the bar lounge as well.
I recommend the sesame tofu! - Sterling P.Portland, OR4916293Jun 9, 2023Updated review
My girlfriend took two days to recover. Too bad because what I had was great unfortunately I just can't recommend eating here
Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Nov 26, 2022Previous reviewHave driven by many times. So last week we decided to give it a try. Very dated but super clean. Waitress brought us the menus and tea. I ordered some dumplings and they arrived shortly and were very tasty. Hot and Sour soup was some of the best I've ever had. Entrees came next including lemon chicken and Hunan beef and both were very tasty! Lots of bang for your buck. Fortune cookies and we were on our way after having a great lunch. So 5 minutes to I-205, and a mile down the road, when Val has terrible stomach pains! I won't go into any details but it took me an hour to clean her seat. I'm not saying it was the chicken, but is certainly suspicious. I only ate the beef and she only ate the chicken so it does give one time to pause about the chicken. Too bad as we'd have gone back as all the food was well prepared with lots of flavor!

My favorite Chinese food in town. Owners are super friendly. Don't judge on ambiance, it is an older building, but I have had almost everything on the menu and it is fantastic and NOT GREASY! When I am sick I go here to get the egg drop soup and it is to die for!

Just paid $50 for some gross generals chicken ( just tastes like ginger doused chicken) fried shrimp (it's burnt) asked for red sauce, didn't get any! Don't eat here if you want Chinese food! Terrible and so mad I paid $50 for this gross ass shot!

Some of the best Gen Tsao chicken I've had, had lots of actual chicken in it, not just breading like many places. Also, pre-covid we didn't tip for pickup, so I don't usually tip for pickup now. But the woman at the register was just so sincerely pleasant that I had to. Got my new favorite Chinese restaurant!

Still the best place I found for quick American Chinese food. Huge portions priced reasonably and delicious- will def do the combo dinner option again ( #5 subbed out rice for lo mein), and the chow mein Hong style which was heaped high with veg/ chicken/ shrimp/ beef, mushrooms
