so disappointed with the veggie Pad Thai I ordered tonight. it was fishy smelling and super wet and soggy. not good. they packed tons of it into the container, which would have been great if it tasted good. ugh.

I ordered the Chirashi for lunch and it was not fresh. Tasted like it had been prepped earlier and kept in the fridge.
The house salad was okay, though the ginger dressing was not freshly made either.
Friendly waitstaff though, and good ambiance. Would return, but would order something cooked. My friend loved his seafood soup.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Bernadette M.Jamaica Plain, Boston, MA03Mar 20, 2024
DO NOT EAT AT THIS PLACE!! I went in for some fresh Sushi and what I was as delivered caused me severe stomach issues. I should have known when the wait staff was rude and dismissive, but I had been going there for many years. This place had gone down hill, FAST! Eat at your own discretion.

Good service. Quiet atmosphere.
Good food and tasty sake, hot or cold!
Only downside were the flies. It was a little distracting. They were on the walls and paintings. If you swatted them it made it worse.
Other than that delicious. Maybe would return to sit at bar. They did have another side that looked like it was to serve larger crowds.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nov 17, 2022Updated review
We ordered sushi takeout from here previously and the fish is certainly fresh and delicious. They are very busy for indoor dining but it's worth it for the Ok Dol Bimbimbap in house!! Sashimi salad was good too. The fish and chips is done in the same manner as their sister restaurant evergreen and I would probably ask them to double fry the chips.

Brought a friend from SF who is Korean and he approved greatly of the food! We got the japchae to start and it's very homey. I've always seen peppers, onions and beef but this one had a whole host of vegetables including broccoli. Great sauce. Next the mains we ordered included the Ok-Dol (stone pot) bibimbap which was legit with the crunchy rice bits. The fish was the better part of the fish and chips, as I am pretty particular about my chips (lived in Belgium). Overall still excellent. Lastly the Korean sashimi salad rice had good quality fish, salad and rice.
The place was very busy so we had to ask for our server but he came pretty promptly after that. 5/5 for food, 5/5 ambiance. - Elias G.Bronx, NY11514Feb 12, 2023
We were guilty of not thinking much of this place based on the name (while I love seafood, my partner strongly doesn't). But don't be fooled, they serve much more than just seafood!
We got the Scallion Pancake and Pork Shumai to start. The scallion pancake was enormous but not what I was expecting. It was a lot more pancaky than I've had before (fluffy instead of layered and crispy). It was still good, though, especially for the price and size. The pork dumplings were delicious -- very juicy and well seasoned, especially with the server dumpling sauce.
I got the Salmon Bibimbap, which came out sizzling in a hot dolsot. The salmon was cooked really well (everything was so hot I expected it to be over cooked, but it wasn't), and the arrangement of veggies (especially the mushrooms) were delicious. Just like the pancake, it was a lot of food too (probably good for 2 people) with an appetizer.
The Beef Bulgogi was also very yummy. It came out hot and continued to crisp up on the plate, which gave the beef a well received crispynes. The sauce was also delicious, being a bit sweet but packed with flavor.
Definitely recommended and will return!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Anastasia L.Boston, MA019Oct 4, 2023
The miso soup is the best around. Always slow service so we usually do order pick up.
Can't figure out why owners don't take care of their year-round window boxes on their sidewalk outdoor seating area. They are mostly dead plants and old Christmas decorations filling the boxes. Doesn't speak well for pride in ownership or appearances.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - SR F.Boston, MA047Nov 17, 2023
Wait staff is not well organized nor trained; to wit:
no sugar for tea after 3 requests
no salt for fried calamari after same 3 requests
no utensils for the GLOPPY mess that we received for PAD THAI.
oh yeah, it had the token mass of sprouts on the top, and smothered shrimp with tails. Otherwise it was missing:
zucchini
red pepper
yellow onion
carrots
salted peanuts, chopped (not stale)
AND DA GREENS: cilantro, green onions, and basil NONE
Impossible to eat with chop sticks, partner went up to request utensils.
Gave up eating, left the mass of gloop behind. Dinner we paid for:
Fried calamari (without salt until it was cold)
Maki : A Mass of rice, nori wrapper, thin thin thin amount of : salmon, cream cheese, and cucumber , barely could taste
Some scour faces, others smiley and pleasant. Go to the
right side if you want more calm (no children).
NEXT TIME, FAR AWAY IN A DISTANT PLACE AND TIME , I WILL FIND DECENT JAPANESE FOOD AND OTHER ASIAN FOODS IN PLACES THAT REALIZE THEIR BEST EFFORTS ARE TO FOCUS AND PERFECT ON WHAT THEY DO BEST.Helpful 0Thanks 3Love this 0Oh no 0 - Tim B.Boston, MA02623Aug 27, 2023
