Have not been to Joann fabrics in awhile, closed the one closest to me so I went to Natick. What a mistake. Never again. Purchased 10 yards of fabric, $120 worth. Should have just left the facility without purchase, I have regretted my purchase since. Essentially asked for 5 yards of fabric cut in half. Was told no, store policy. Then mgr. came over and stated the same thing. This fabric was being delivered to 2 different locations, hence reason for my request. You know you are not having a great customer experience when the answer to your request is " if I do it for you, I have to do it for everyone". I am telling JoAnn mgmt team, train your managers to handle customer issues and requests otherwise you'll lose customers. This is not cutting up fabric into 1/8 yard strips! Explanation from the gal working the cutting table. Handle that situation as need be. I believe the policy is a "blanket policy" that needs a manager with good training to empower when you can do something for the customer and when it simply doesn't work for the store. This simple gesture, which costs nothing to JoAnn, keeps customer loyalty. By the by, I did request the mgr to stop explaining to me why you cannot cut a fabric into 2 pieces again, I am not a child, I just don't agree with your store policy. Lastly, the gal working the cutting table saw her mgr's approach and once she left decided to drop the politeness with me. I should have left right then and there. I pay for what I buy, which means I get to be treated as a customer, whether I agree with your store policies or not.

I've been going to this Joann's for many years, and the selection of fabrics and attitudes of employees has always been great. would recommend

Worst Joann I've ever been to. Disorganized, weird low lighting, always long lines to get the fabric cut. Additionally, there is a staff member who acts like she owns the place, condescending, talks about other customers and complains about how hard they work. Very unpleasant experience overall.

This Joann Fabrics location is spectacularly horrible. The only redeeming quality about it is the service - the staff members are friendly and will do their best to help you, though they always seem severely short staffed (not the employees fault of course, but there are always lines and just 1-2 employees in the whole store). The store itself is run down, dark (seriously are like half the lights turned off?! i have to use my phone flash light to see the true color of fabric and thread!), and generally poorly stocked. Shelves are consistently empty. Typically I don't waste my time here and I just go to Fabric Place another mile down the road. its too bad because Joann's is one of few craft stores around and its a shame this location is so bad.

I don't sew and I am definitely not "crafty", BUT when I get an idea stuck in my head I am determined to figure it out. My latest idea involved curtain tiebacks, and I needed to see ribbon in person to match a color. I have only been in one other Joann location (in VA) but I know this is an older location that has been here forever. Maybe it isn't new/flashy like other locations (wherever those are) BUT the store was clean, organized and there were not items thrown on shelves, stuff on the floor, etc.
As I was looking at ribbon, I noticed the fancy stuff behind me (I suppose you would call it "trim"?); now I need to hold off until I look at endless photos of curtains with that instead. Kudos to the store for allowing dogs (makes errands possible on a hot day) as well, although he wasn't too interested in the Boston sports fabric. On the way out, nice guy at the register thanked me and wished me a good day.
HUGE parking lot as well, and on the Eastbound side of Route 9 (in between McDonald's and Speedway)Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Alicia G.Boston, MA753Dec 14, 2023
I would never order from joann.com again. I ordered November 22nd I have a yet to get my package and no money returned to me. It was an advent calendar that you should open December 1st to the 24th. I cannot get anyone on the phone. They have a chat customer service 8 hours before. Anyone even looked at my text message. It wasn't until I thought to claim with PayPal is when they finally got back to me and said the item has been shipped. But yet I still don't have it and nor do I want it. I just want my money back. Horrible experience if I could get zero stars I would.

Go to JoaAnn's primarily for the Viking Sevice gallery in there. The Viking in the Newington Store is excellent and Betsy is so knowledgeable. The prices are so reasonable. Joann's itself could use serious help!

Glad to have access to a Joann fabric store with the huge selection of materials that they have.

Joann is one of the few places that you can actually buy fabric and other sewing supplies. So I continue to put up with their BS.
Last night I went in. I noticed the sign said all fleece was 60% off. So I picked out a cool pattern and go to the cutting desk. As I reach the cash registers, I noticed my cutting receipt only reflected 40% off. I asked the cashier and she treated me like I was a total a-hole for not reading the signs - apparently the fleece sale doesn't begin until the following day. It's not like the person at the cutting desk warned me.
Joann pulls crap like this all the time. I've complained to management. Who pretty much has told me that I need to learn how to read.

Still having problems with pricing. Thread is on sale right now. $1.99 instead of the typical $3.49. Rang up at $3.49. Fortunately the cashier honored the advertised sale price with a manual override.

Check your receipt before you leave the store. Prices may not ring up as posted, and then the cashier will not honor the posted price.Helpful 8Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Oct 20, 2016Previous reviewStill having problems with pricing. Jun 24, 2016Previous reviewThe people at the cutting desk are generally friendly and knowledgeable. But the rest of the staff is pretty hit or miss.
Everything is ridiculously overpriced due to the ubiquitous 40% off coupons. Then they have 75% of the store priced at 10% off so that you can't use the coupons. - Dominic B.Boston, MA01Oct 25, 2022
These guys could learn something about customer service. They refused to cut two pieces of material (1 yrd each) because it was past "845pm". Place was empty but still open when I was there with selected fabric 5 minutes before closing time (9pm).

I get that during this whole pandemic that joanns is super busy with online orders! But that is no need to be nasty over the phone or in person! I pulled up for curbside pick up... 4:50pm. They say they close at 6pm.... the employee is talking to 3 other people at the door. I'm just getting out of my car and I have no idea what she's saying. As I walk up the 3 people leave and the employee seeing me... closes the door. I'm like ok I'll just wait for her to come back out. Nope I had to hear it from one of the people who were waiting that she was closing the store...
so this bitchy employee instead of saying hi we are closing early today sorry.. or you know getting my already ready order since I'm here..... instead she closes the door in my face to let me figure it out on my own!
Everywhere is crazy right now! No need to be an asswhole!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
