Do they serve champagne? I did a Yelp search for restaurants that serve beer and wine and this is the 3rd place that doesn't have any alcohol on the menu. I think a menu page is missing. Do they serve champagne?

      A:

      Most certainly yes!!!

Visited Joanie's Cafe for a cozy breakfast experience and was very pleased. Service was efficient and friendly, contributing positively to the visit. Prices were reasonable for the quality offered.

      Traditional Eggs Benedict
      Rating: 4/5
The Eggs Benedict were well-prepared, with perfectly poached eggs and a delicious hollandaise sauce.

Crab Omelette with Rye Bread and Hash Browns
      Rating: 4/5
The Crab Omelette was delightful, fluffy on the inside, and nicely seasoned on the outside. Hash Browns are crispy and were a perfect match with the omelette.

Joanie's on busy California Avenue is a decent place to get some breakfast with a little scattered table service. For parties of six or more, it's hard to get a table where you can sit together.
The food was fine for a casual morning breakfast. The open face breakfast sandwich had good flavor but got soggy, would have been better if the bread were toasted. The breakfast medley had some nice bacon, but nothing else to write home about.
The service, while friendly, was perhaps too hurried and thus sloppy. We didn't get a beverage, dropped utensils were not replaced, refills on decaf were tough to come by, you get the picture.

Great casual brunch spot on Cal Ave with amazing service! I ordered the feta omelette and requested a few substitutions (extra spinach instead of tomato and hash browns instead of toast), didn't get charged extra for either. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive.

We got seated as a party of 11 very quickly and would highly recommend this spot for a group brunch. Was also very pleased with the portion sizes and the amount of choice on the menu! 100% will return, prices are also very reasonable compared to other spots in the surrounding area.

Came on a Sunday shortly after 10am and put our name on the waitlist, for a party of 2 our wait was no more than 10 mins.

The vanilla latte w/ almond milk came out hot and super delicious! It almost tasted like hot cocoa.

Breakfast was good as well, although I wasn't impressed with the pancakes. They were supposed to be buttermilk but I didn't get that from the taste. The hash browns were delicious and crispy.

They have the yummiest most delicious tuna sandwich and chocolate chip pancakes. My favorite breakfast spot. Location is nice too. Cute and cozy . Service was friendly too.

I got the breakfast medley, which was more than enough food for brunch. The food was good but not really anything exceptional (think typical brunch diner food).

The service was great, super friendly and kind although the wait was long - think we waited almost an hour when we wrote our name down on the waitlist at 11am on a Sunday.

Casual diner vibes, outside had a farmers market going on so it was pretty cute and dainty.

This is the only restaurant for breakfast and lunch within a few miles. That is if you're not willing to at the adjacent eatery on Stanford near the Children's hospital and the Cancer Center.

Came here mainly to kill time because of my dad having an appointment nearby.

The food is good. Though it is pricey, but then it is Palo Alto.

My dad and I had the same thing which was the Breakfast Medley. They do give you a lot. So much so that I couldn't eat it all. My dad asked for a take-out box.

It's also pricey for their coffee. Much more than usual. More then even Denny's or IHOP.

You can either eat inside or eat outside as I noticed a few chose to due to the lovely weather. It wasn't packed at all. Probably is packed during lunch. For sure on Sundays due to the farmer's market.

Great service. Love getting coffee refills.

Found this place by chance. Food was delish and the waitstaff were all very friendly. I gave 3 stars because of the limited beer available. They were a couple of microbrews and not a single "regular" beer like Coors, Bud or Modelo. Most places that serve beer have at least 1 of those. Other than that, if I'm back in Palo Alto, I will go back.

Joanie's was one of the last places on my brunch bingo card, and I'm glad I finally got to check it out! Hearty portions of standard brunch fare, with lots of options to please every palette.

We ordered the grilled chicken sandwich and huevos Sante Fe, the latter of which ended up being a wet breakfast burrito. Both entrees were solid, although the grilled chicken sandwich exceeded my expectations with the eggplant and caramelized onions. Sadly, the home fries or country potatoes were a bit lackluster because they weren't crispy; should've gone with the hash browns instead.

Joanie's is a quaint brunch spot with fast service, but my only gripe is the outrageous price point -- even for the Bay Area, an average price of $21 per item seems exorbitant.

There's ample parking around California Ave (including a free 3 hour parking garage), although it can be tougher to find parking during the farmers' market.

Went here for brunch on a Sunday afternoon with a couple of friends and it was quite busy. There is a lot of seating so we were seated in about 15 minutes.

Food was pretty yummy overall. I really enjoyed the sautéed salmon salad and the French toast with berries. The eggs benedict was good but I've definitely had better.

Good brunch spot to try out if you're in the area.
