I was gifted a Groupon for Jim's introductory class and it was such a fun experience! Jim is great to work with and makes you feel like a pro at using a badass torch. Definitely recommend!

Jim's class is so fun and coming home with a piece that you made is great. I bought a GC for my sisters and we had the best time. Jim is laid back and a great teacher. I love what I made and hang one piece on my window and use the other as a necklace. This is a great time for a date night or something fun to do.

Thanks to a spiffy-sounding deal on LivingSocial, my beau and I got to attend a glassmaking workshop with another couple... yay for a double date! There were different workshops you could choose from, and since we had zero-zilch-nada glassmaking experience, we went for the super-beginner "Design a pendant workshop." For the four of us, Jim blocked out two hours for us, which was the perfect amount of time to get comfortable with the basics and complete our projects.
We started off by Jim giving us safety tips, he explained the materials and tools, and then he created a pendant first and walked us through the process while we all watched. And then, one by one, each of us made our own!
I cannot express to you how freakin' rad it is to work with a 3000-degree flame and creating something unique. There's also a very peaceful, zen-like quality to it... when you're working with the glass, that's the only thing you're thinking about. You're not dicking with your phone, you're not thinking about your electric bill; you're just present and in the moment... it's a beautiful thing.
Anyway, as if all of these other 5-star reviews aren't enough to convince you, take my word for it: Jim and his classes are AMAZING, and this makes the perfect gift. Whether you're flying solo, you want to get Mom a cool treat, you wanna do something different for date night... Jim Loewer Glass is the way to go.
We definitely got the glassmaking bug and can't wait to take other classes!
PS: The building he works in is really cool, too. It's a cute section of town.
PPS: Parking is tricky around there (no lots or garages) so give yourself an extra 10-15 minutes so you have time to park. - Robert P.Madison, MS13272/25/2020
Visited the studio while in town on vacation. Jim was great to work with and fun to watch his skill. Definitely worth visiting and getting something to take home. Ended up buying several ornaments including ones he made for us while in studio.

My husband and I got a voucher for the glassblowing class for two for Christmas. Through a series of unfortunate events, Jim and I both had to reschedule twice each but he was so extremely friendly and accommodating through the whole process. He answered all emails promptly. The class itself was very fun and informative. He's a great teacher, demonstrating, guiding, and coaching beginners through the process of making their pieces. He does a great job of balancing being hands off enough to make you feel like you really made the piece yourself while intervening to make sure it's successful and safe. Very fun date night/chance to try something brand new!

Jim was fantastic. The session was a gift for our wedding and we scheduled it with ease. Jim was patient and demonstrated the techniques very well and explained them as he demo'd them. It was great to work with him on our projects. We would go back again!

My husband and I did a two hour private class with Jim and it was just awesome! Jim is an excellent instructor. He guides you along, coaching each step, so you actually succeed with finished pieces. Together we made a pendant, small paperweight, shot glasses and ornaments. Since they have to cool in the kiln he will be shipping them to us tomorrow. The experience of lamp work and blowing glass was on our bucket list. Big check mark and big thank you to Jim for opening his studio to total beginners. Can't wait to see the final products and can't wait to do this again!

We had a group of five do a glass pendant workshop with Jim and had a great time. Jim was very thorough in his explanations on how to work the glass blowing torch and was very helpful in both demonstrating what to do and guiding us as we each made our own pendant. We were late and Jim didn't give us a hard time at all (although the lesson was slightly shorter). He was very welcoming and even provided snacks and water in the studio. If you're looking for an interesting way to spend a few hours, I definitely recommend giving Jim a call and scheduling a lesson.

If you're looking for something unique and fun to do, sign up for a glassblowing class with Jim! I had no experience. I was a little intimidated but Jim was a great instructor. He's hilarious as well! Definitely a great time and I learned a lot about glassblowing. This would also make a good gift for friends/family members.
