Jet Fuel Meals

I first tried Jet Fuel about three years ago and cancelled my subscription just a few months later, feeling very disgruntled after a number of issues where many meals were over salted, my allergies/preferences were not taken into account, and the customer service was just not good. Fast forward to a few months ago, a friend who is currently subscribed and happy with the food suggested I give the service a second chance. I was hesitant, but I decided to go for it.

I could not be happier with the service and food options I'm currently getting from Jet Fuel! You can 100% tell they have revamped their recipes and have hired better chefs/cooks because the food is light years better and way more varied than it used to be three years ago. Although I was unsure if a meal plan would be adequate for me since I was diagnosed with celiac a few months ago, I was able to set gluten as an allergy and I have not had any issues with any of the meals I've received. Although they can't guarantee the meal to be gluten free since it's all made in a shared kitchen, they highlight the exclusions/substitutions when needed and the meal is just as balanced and enjoyable as the original portion.

I'm very thankful to have this meal plan as an option as I don't enjoy cooking at all, and although I thought I'd be forced to do so after my celiac diagnosis, I found an alternative that has worked for me and is safe (literally just got bloodwork for my celiac antibodies and there's no trace of them! And I've been having Jet Fuel meals since January). Really glad I gave them a second chance!

Well, we gave it a good try! Unfortunately, their plan is not working for us. The ambiance was not there.

First of all, we can never pick our meals. They pick the choices for us! There is no menu to look at. We were each getting a meal a day for 4 days a week. That's 8 meals a week and those meals get expensive. We wind up eating just a small portion of it that we actually like, and the rest (including our money) goes in the garbage can. Even our darling doggies don't want to eat it.

The second problem is that they add so much salt to every meal! Especially the meat! I take one bite, and I'm ready to throw up. The meat is hard to chew, especially the steaks. Is it the salt or what?My daughter isn't happy either. I'm not making this up. I have a serious medical condition that can worsen by my eating too much salt. We told them about it in the beginning, but it had no effect.

Therefore, we quit their progam yesterday.

1st strike: Included allergens in my first meal delivery (I updated my allergens 3 days before delivery, they recommended 48h in advance)

2nd strike: Half raw pasta (half of the pasta was cooked, half was crunchy, not al dente)

3rd strike: Half raw rice (again half of the grains cooked, half crunchy)

They refunded me some money and gave me extra meals because of the inconvenience, so I thought I'd give them a FOURTH chance in 2 weeks.

AGAIN, I had another pasta dish that had crunchy parts on every noodle.

At this point I don't want refunds, I want a company that knows how to cook food!

Keep in mind, out of 8 meals I had issues with 4...

Great tasting approx 350 calories, they choose the meals and eliminate any allergens. The prompt delivery is to the doorstep of our condo 3x a week. We are losing weight while feeling satisfied. We nuke it at 2:30 and 70% power and let steep for 1-2 minutes.

I was considering signing up, but needed to know the sodium content of the meals. The nutritional information online doesn't include sodium. I therefore called customer service and the rep said the meals have no more than 450mg of sodium. I then told her I needed to see this information on the packaging like the other information listed. She said they don't list the sodium, but that she could assure me that the best and healthiest ingredients are used. I told the rep, if I can't read the amount of sodium on the meals packaging then I'm not assured it's only 450mg of sodium.

I would be consuming these meals daily without knowing how much sodium I would be consuming. This would not be the healthiest way to eat. Also, this is not like eating out every now and then when you also don't know the sodium content.

So signing up is an absolute no for me because I take every measure to try to be sure of what I consume.

The service is excellent, the food is delicious, and it's easy to use. Delivery every other day, so you know that food is fresh.

I tried to use Jet Fuel, but they use a 3rd party delivery service that delivers between midnight and 4am. I live in a gated community and have to let the driver in, and clearly can't be woken in the middle of the night three times a week for the delivery. The company was good about giving me a prompt refund when I had to cancel, but they should consider a different delivery service and/or be more up-front about the delivery times!

Their labels do not include information on Saturated Fat,
Sodium, Fiber, or Sugar. I contacted costumer service and they told me that they can not provide me with this important information.

Ketogenic-tastic!!!

I have been searching for the right meal delivery service to help me eat better! I want to lose some weight and eat fresh and healthy but I'm lazy and struggle with my busy schedule (even in the pandemic) to be creative with my meals! I wind up eating the same thing over and over. Blah!

My prayers have finally been answered by finding Jet Fuel Meals! I have put in many hours over the last few months searching for Keto meal delivery plans. They do exist but some of those plans think that you can eat 30 grams of carbs in one meal and that's low carb or you still have to cook the meal which they describe as quick and easy but I'm lucky if an hour after starting, I'm finally eating, or they send you some outrageously expensive frozen meals. Yuck... No! Y'all know what I'm talking about if you've searched.
Jet Fuel is fresh meals delivered to your door 3 times a week! They are delivered before 6am and in a cooler bag.

Ordering and Delivery:
Signing up was so easy and if you have any questions, you can text with them or talk to someone by phone. I had a few questions and they called me to answer all of them! As noted, I chose the Keto meal plan but they have several others including plant based. You can also specify if you have food allergies or just can't eat a certain food. I excluded fish from my meals. No problem!
I have had a great experience with delivery. I even gave special instructions to have the meals left in a certain place and it's been so smooth. I wake up and there's my meals for the next 2 days! I don't get meal delivery for the weekend, so this is my time to cook for myself or occasionally get take out.

The Food:
I was a bit worried when I ordered how this would taste. Well, I have been so surprised by how good these meals are! Some favorites have been Mongolian Beef, Lime Chicken, Mojo Pork Loin, and honestly the best Curry Chicken Salad I think I've ever had! I don't really like chicken salad but this was amazing!!! Oh, I had a pepperoni pizza chicken breast for dinner last night... yes, you read that right, chicken and pizza! If you needed proof there's a higher power, there you go! Yummy!
The sides are so good too! It's hard to make some of the sides that are staples in a keto diet taste interesting but so far, so good! Well seasoned and they are mixing up the cooking techniques to keep it interesting.

Cost:
Plans vary depending on how many meals a day you want. I'm doing lunch and dinner right now but I have serious FOMO each week I see the breakfast menu! It looks tasty! My meals are averaging less than $8 each! That's really reasonable and I grab my meal, heat it up, eat, and recycle the container! So easy!

Customer Service:
Since I've signed up, they have checked in to see how my service is, how I like my meals, and they send me reminders about delivery! Outstanding!

Did I mention that on the Ketogenic plan that every meal is 8 grams of carbs or less?! Wonderful!

Parents: They have kids' meals too!
