Absolutely incredible neighborhood bike shop. Have been going here for 10+ years and they always go above and beyond. Incredible service, super knowledgeable, friendly, and always happy to help with repairs big and small. Very reasonable prices. Truly one of the gems of the Heights.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Albert R.Brooklyn, NY1316Aug 5, 2023
Great bicycle shop for sales & repairs! Friendly staff and fast work! I keep comin' back! I'm from Hoboken but it's always worth a trip to Central Ave!

I bought my bike here a few years ago and I find this is the best bike shop in Hudson County. The staff is friendly, helpful, and they don't try to oversell.
Today I needed a new bike lock. The salesgirl showed me a few options, then found exactly what I wanted at a very good price.
While I was there, they adjusted my seat and put air in my tires for free. Seriously, this place is a godsend.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Chidi O.Manhattan, NY191Jun 4, 2022
Go elsewhere. The owner/manager is a miserable, angry man with a horrible, condescending attitude. It's of no surprise yo me that many others who've left reviews feel similarly. Support any other local bike shop with much more reasonable and kind staff.

A lot of lowlife attitude... u go in with a good bike to replace a part and they break 2 other parts and then they blame it on u !! I would give ZERO stars if it had that option...
STAY AWAY.

The owner of this shop is always great and my experience with him was awesome. When the owner isn't present and his workers are running the shop...it's HORRIBLE! They are rude, dismissive, and there seems to be an underlining animosity towards non-hispanics and black people...As a black person in America, you learn to pick up on the non-verbal passive aggressiveness. Its unfortunate for the owner because he is a great spirit and always conducts good business. I'll be taking my business to Grove Street Cycles going forward...it really is too bad that his workers are so socially inept and unprofessional.

The female receptionist with glasses, tan skin, and curly hair is rude and curt. She doesn't understand the importance of manners when interacting with customers. The workers in the back are not low key about being perverted and making snide comments about women in Spanish.

Massive dose of attitude
I called to ask them to assemble a bike I was going to purchase.
This is my first time purchasing a bike and I was deciding between a mountain and hybrid.
I politely asked what is the difference between a mountain and hybrid. In a condescending voice, I was told one is for mountain and one is for hybrid riding.
Many thanks for clearing that up!
One phone call later, found a different bike shop which didn't treat me in the blatantly condescending and rude manner.Helpful 4Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - Theresa S.Jersey City, NJ548160Jun 3, 2020
Such a ripoff. Don't bother with the "tune up". My bike still had cobwebs on it after they were done!
For $79 all they do is grease gears and wipe down your bike. Before getting the service I called ahead and asked if they did what other local shops do as part of a tune up like adjustments to brake, gear and headset. They said they "do everything" but then 4 hours later when I went to pickup my bike it looked like nothing had been done. They couldn't tell me what they did. There is no description or checklist of what a "tune up" includes or what was performed. Such a waste of money to pay them for virtually no service or maintenance.
Also, beware when you are buying tires from them. They do not give you back your old ones. When I came in I had barely used mountain tires and bought a second set of street tires. When I returned to pick up my bike after the "tune up" they told me they had already thrown them out. I assume they just plan to resell them.
I would not return. Too many other bike shops to bother with this poor service.Helpful 5Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - Katy W.Hazlet, NJ76163685Jan 15, 2017
The service at Jersey Cycles is always great and prices are fair. I've brought my bike for several tune-ups and repairs, and even rented one of their hybrids for a tour ride. They are always finished with my bike within an hour, so I usually get to indulge in a quick lunch or coffee/cake at Rumba's Cafe across the street, or just pick up quick groceries at C-Town next door.
Luca is very friendly and experienced, he gladly provides helpful suggestions and answers any random bike questions you might have. I love that they're a local small business, and that you don't walk in feeling like this is a snobby bike shop that's only for fancy carbon road bikes. They also carry all the biking accessories you might need -- gloves, cycling clothing, locks, bottle racks, lights, bells, spare tubes, baskets, handlebar bags, etc... I definitely recommend you check them out even if you're not looking to buy anything!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
